    • #45 is considering using executive privilege to silence James Comey

      If the president does this, it will make him look guiltier. Keep in mind, this is just an investigation to see if any wrongdoing was done. No one is being charged with anything and so far absolutely NO collusion has been found or proven; therefore, it will look very strange if the president takes this action to silence James Comey this early on into an investigation that so far hasn't proven a thing. If there's nothing to hide, then why not just ignore what's going on let James Comey testify? Maybe what Comey says will be in supportive of the president and his administration. Then again, this administration is known for making things worse on itself  :crazy2:

      Please, no "libtard" this and irrelevant Hillary talk. Can we have a discussion without derailment for once?

      Yes, boycott him and mhorndisk from now on. It's not worth anyone's time to respond to them. If we ignore them, maybe they'll either go away or start posting things worthy of debate. The boycott starts today!  :cheers:

      @Frederick:

      @royalcrown89:

      Kathy Griffin does not represent the Democratic Party. She holds no position of power within the Democratic Party. She runs no organization in connection with the Democratic Party. Therefore, Kathy Griffin does not represent the Democratic Party. She's not even invited to most Democratic functions. Once again, what she did was free speech. Don't like it, move out of America. As disgusting as it is, this is what our Founding Fathers wanted us to be able to do without punishment because America is not Syria or Saudi Arabia or Iran. If you want to make the argument that Kathy Griffin should be arrested or even investigated, then I will make the argument for arresting the thousands of people burning and hanging President Obama effigies, which has a nasty historical context to it by the way. There are hundreds if not thousands of photos of rednecks burning and hanging President Obama effigies.

      Do you realize what a fool you make of yourself on a daily basis?
      You post 2 photos.. supposedly effigies of Obama.  One photo is about 100 years old.  The other one is some random redneck in Bumfuck, Nowhereville.   Find a photo of any notable person ever daring to put up an effigy of Sheik Obama.

      I would advise you to avoid sniffing the fumes when gluing model airplanes together.

      That photo of the man being lynched is not from 100 years ago and I attached that with the burning Obama effigy to show the disgusting historical context I mentioned in my post. And "notable person?" Kathy Griffin is a has-been that has now been fired from CNN for the disgusting thing she did. Still, what she did was expressing her freedom which is something we all have the right to do, just like the redneck burning the Obama effigy or some redneck putting crosshairs on Democrats that later turn up to get shot by lunatics (i.e. the Sarah Palin/Gabby Giffords situation of 2011). You're putting Kathy Griffin on a platform that no one else puts her on just so you can make her a symbol of the left, when in reality no prominent Democrat has ever boasted being connected to Kathy Griffin. Seems you're the one who has been sniffing fumes.

      You need to show some sort of political motivation here, to have a point.    If you are just posting this for the hell of it, then maybe you should have posted it in General news.

      Isn't it pretty obvious though? The right has been viciously attacking the media and a sitting governor has called for the right to shoot reporters. You can't keep condemning the left over their outrageous behavior to limit free speech while ignoring the right calling for violence against our free press.

      It could be simply vandalism.  We have no more information than that.

      I never condone violence, except in self defense and defense of others.    Despite, what SJWs tell us, words are not violence.

      It's your side that has been calling to silence the media, that isn't left leaning.    We know that social media has actively been doing it.

      Bottom line, this thread is reflective of the attacks the media is facing from the right. Even if it was just random vandalism, many on the right have been calling for violence against members of the press. If a reporter is shot because of what the Republicans have been saying, it will ruin the Republican Party. I can guarantee you that. You cannot shoot people for asking questions just like you cannot assault people or burn buildings to keep someone from speaking on a college campus. Both are wrong and both need to be condemned, not one side chosen to be condemned because "liberals are supposed to be the loving ones." That's a stupid argument.

      They were probably more worried their citizens would get raped by Trump.  He has a history of that.

      Damn  :zing: He did admit to sexual assault in that Access Hollywood tape though. "You can do it when you're a celebrity…grab 'em by the pussy," came from his very own mouth and we all know it. No denying that.

    • RE: Democrats will NEVER recover from Trump.

      @portboii:

      If you won then why does it seem that your so angry with the world?

      Because they actually are angry. This is not what they wanted. They wanted Agent Orange to win and everyone was supposed to be excited about it. Millions were supposed to travel to DC for the inauguration. Hundreds of thousands were supposed to march in the streets in support of him to prove that we as a country support his win and him as president. Did any of that happen? Not even close. In reality, nearly 60% of the country is united against him. It will be over 60% later this year. If you're president and you post a tweet and it upsets people so much that 300,000-600,000 people come to DC to protest you and even more people protest in other spots around the country, it's a clear sign that you are never going to unite people. That reality has hit people like mhorndisk and it's a painful reality to deal with.

      I had no idea Kathy Griffin held elected office as a Democrat and/or runs the Democratic party. Seriously, this is no different than Ted Nugent and his ilk burning life-sized President Obama dolls and tying nooses around the necks of life-sized President Obama dolls. As disgusting as it is, it's free speech. We're not a Muslim nation. You can't lock someone up or kill them for burning or doing something else to an effigy. Free speech is free speech unless someone makes direct threats. If you're calling for her arrest or anything else then the thousands who did the same with President Obama need to be identified through the many photos, rounded up and arrested also.

      @matprairie:

      Actually. how can a RAIL GUN shoot a straight line for one hundred miles? And hit the target dead on?

      You have to account for both the curvature of the earth and the effects of gravity. It's called ballistics and the US Navy is really, really good at that.   That straight line you speak, is really a very flat parabola made by gravity pulling the missile down at 32 feet per second, and the earth is really, really big.  At 3960 miles, 100 miles will only get you an angle of about 0.025 radians or 1.6 degrees.

      @royalcrown89:

      Yeah, Russia hacking Americans is so funny and hilarious. The possibility that our current president and/or his administration helped a foreign power hack Americans is funny and hilarious, right?

      It's funny because you guys constantly assert this ALLEGATION that has no actual proof. With Hillary for example, she literally deleted 30K emails AFTER a subpoena. And I'm not going back to the Hildabeast to shift or change the subject, because there is no better analogy. There literally is proof there, that you cannot deny, and you refuse to admit it, when it's not debatable. Your allegations are empty.

      Russia hacked the DNC to help the man who is now our president. At the behest of the man who is now our president, Wikileaks released what was taken during the hacking. Disinformation and misinformation was spread by the Russians to manipulate our free press. This is no laughing matter. You cannot cheer on the hacking of American citizens and our institutions by a foreign power, especially since it was clearly done to both benefit #45 and damage our democracy.

      My allegations are empty? There was enough evidence to begin multiple investigations into this BY REPUBLICANS. Robert Mueller is not a Democrat. Richard Burr is not a Democrat. Chuck Grassley, who is now calling for further investigation into Jared Kushner, is not a Democrat. This has gone beyond partisanship because the evidence is taking it beyond partisanship. You can bring up Hillary Clinton until you are blue in the face, SHE IS NOT THE PRESIDENT. We only have one president at a time and right now, the current one is in a lot of trouble.

      A criminal like Hillary will NEVER be President Again. PERIOD.

      This is why some of us on here think you are irrational. When was Hillary Clinton ever president? Why do you believe that Hillary Clinton was president? Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton has never been the President of the United States. What alternative reality do you live in?

      Again, you are twisting words to alter their meaning.
      Obviously Mhorndisk was saying:
      "A criminal, like Hillary will NEVER be President Again. PERIOD."
      He didn't say Hillary will never be president again.. because as we all know, she was never president.
      He was saying a criminal LIKE Hillary.

      Perhaps your English skills are lacking.  They have some excellent night courses for adult education offered at many high schools.

      It seems you and mhorndisk need the education because you seem to believe a woman who holds no elected office has more power than the actual President of the United States and that her mere existence is enough to defend everything our president has done since taking office.

      @pppucci:

      @mhorndisk:

      Podesta went to the White House in 2013 to be a special counselor to Obama. That requires that you have financial disclosures every year. In his financial disclosure form in 2013, Podesta not only failed to disclose the 75,000 shares of stock that he has in Joule Energy which is funded in part by the Russian government, he also failed to disclose that he is on one of the three corporate boards that this entity has. He discloses he is on the company in Massachusetts, that he is on the board of a company in the Netherlands, but he fails to disclose that he is also on the executive order of the holding company. That’s a clear violation of the disclosure rules.

      I will grant you all that.  But it is a bit different than accepting 35 million from the Kremlin.  BTW, the Trump team has not been exactly forthcoming on their disclosures.

      They haven't been forthcoming on anything. We have to find out details on most things through leaks, which is sad. The cycle has been very consistent since he took office in January: a claim is made by someone about the administration, the administration says the claim is false, a leak proves the claim is true, and finally the administration admits the claim is true and either demotes/fires someone or states the incident won't happen again. #45 is the only president in recent history who didn't release his tax returns; therefore, he should be deemed corrupt by default until he proves otherwise. He has zero credibility at this point and the deeper this whole thing goes the worse it's going to get for him. It doesn't matter how many fake news stories mhorndisk comes up with, this administration is doomed if not by Mueller's investigation then by the uncertainty of the dark cloud that continues to follow the administration. That dark cloud will be there for years.

    • RE: Republicans now feel entitled to shoot Americans whenever they feel like

      Why are some of you conflating two very, very different issues? No, the violence on the left and right is not the same at all. The right has been reacting violently to the press actually holding them accountable to their words and actions, which is awful and needs to be condemned. Physically assaulting a reporter will get you arrested and charged, no matter where you are. All it will take is one Republican either shooting or gravely injuring a reporter or protester and after being charged with a felony, no others will follow in his footsteps and it would most likely destroy any chance they had with keeping their majority in Congress.

      The left has been reacting violently to FREE SPEECH. How can you be perfectly fine with people destroying property just because Milo or Ann Coulter wanted to give a speech? "Well, people didn't die…" is not a valid excuse for the behavior we've been seeing lately. This recent awful behavior cannot be defended just because we don't like what people like Milo and Ann say. When I was in college (2008-2012), we formed arguments to combat racist speech or homophobic speech, we didn't set a building on fire to keep racists and homophobes from stepping foot onto the campus. There are shitty people in the real world and you can't stuff cotton in your ears and shout "La la la, I can't hear you" all your life. You have to be able to prove WHY they're shitty, not destroy things or harm people to keep them from speaking.
