As the original poster of this topic back in January 2019, I have to say, I don't perceive much of a change in the handling of LGBT content on Family Guy since this announcement, and wonder if Seth and the network were really planning substantive changes, or just paying lip service as cancel culture became more pervasive.

While I don't watch each episode of Family Guy on a weekly basis, it does seem that we are seeing less of Herbert, the old gay pedophile, but I don't believe he's been killed off.  If more recent media commentary on this topic exists, feel free to add…

fester, I feel your pain.  "Con-cast" was my main provider until recently.  My time spent now in NYC, where RCN wi-fi is literally five times faster, same price.

The one benefit of Comcast (from a few months back) is that they're not very active in the DMCA realm, while my NYC provider is watchful – hello, VPN...!

Back to the original topic, I'm afraid that if your Internet Provider runs at low speeds, I found the only solution was keeping huge amounts of torrents open and running 24/7, and your desktop/laptop/tablet/phone may not be able to handle that.     :blink:

Yes, seems that way, we've been hit by a series of runaway posters.  A different member, now muted, created a string of very icky, suggestive threads re: "parent-child togetherness" on the Parenthood board, and I wish those could be locked, or better deleted, it will be so long before they are bumped off that top page.

As for this thread's content –  perhaps in societies where gay relationships are strongly rejected, people find ways around it, on the down-low, via what they call "close friends."  By contrast, in the West, many gays keep their closest friends in the non-sexual column, because we have more options, from marriage (serious) to tricks, flings (non-serious).  Hmm...!

Now that the spammer above has been quieted, I'll offer my answer to the question at hand.

I'm a bit stymied by the question itself.  Don't most people have children, in large part, to feel fulfilled?  And if "feeling fulfilled" includes doing their best job at child rearing and development, why are we posing the question as if that, in itself, is a bad idea?

At least it was interesting to hear opposing views from a few GTRU members in countries/societies where having children was still intertwined with ancient traditions about family lineage, building up bigger tribes, and various patriarchal imperatives.

It made my glad that I live in a progressive and less-rigid social environment, especially as many of these more static cultures are not accepting of living one's gay truth.  Imho, of course.

The original post was asking about a visit in October of the YEAR 2019.  For the record, I can't imagine any of these Japan gay men's spas are open today, due to the COVID epidemic.

No doubt, 24 Kaikan Shinjuku (Tokyo) is/was eight floors of clean facilities and hot fun.  Their clientele is/was mainly 40 and under, have visited on two trips years ago.  There were other, smaller spa options – again, this was pre-global shutdown.
