You do know that even if you got C-19 before the vaccines, you had an extremely small chance of dying, don't you?

Fewer under 18s have died from C-19 than got myocarditis from the Pfizer shot.

So far, I only know 1 person to have gotten C-19. That was my stepmom. Because she's an ex-smoker (like me) she was hospitalized for 2 weeks and survived. I literally don't know anyone else who has gotten it.

Because I'm a local politician (chairman of my royal borough), I'm always chatting with people. Excluding the people that are either scared or annoyed about C-19, I just don't hear about it. What I do hear about is cancer, rickets, and other normal stuff.

I'm not a high enough level in politics to get special medical treatment, so my hand is still messed from when I broke it back on 2 Oct 2020.

I see: so, because people on your block - at least not the ones hanging out with you - aren't getting (and dying from) Covid-19 the reports of hundreds of thousands of people in the US - CURRENTLY hospitalized from the virus, and MILLIONS in India... they're all crap.

Better yet, they're "false facts" meant solely to influence the US Election in 2020...

So, your doctor knows more than the WHO.

You might remember that you told us that we need to trust them, in the early days, because they were the experts.

K, thanks but no thanks. I don't need liberal mental gymnastics from a societal lock stepping "libertarian".

      Nice pic...

I don't know that the WHO has come out saying that the Pfizer vaccine shouldn't be given to adolescents...

But again, regardless of the straw-man argument you want to create against it, it is simple:

I trust my Dr - not without question, but in general - more than I trust any TV "talking head"

And if you don't feel the same about YOUR Doctor, you need a new Doctor!

Ah, we have to vote for the Republican Presidential candidate, unless it's Orange Man Bad.

Typical liberal mental gymnastics, you got there.

ROFL - I have voted for exactly ONE Democrat in over 40 years:

      • Against Trump

I voted for Bush/Quayle in 88 and 92 (even though Dan Quayle never saw a foot too big for his mouth!)
I voted for Dole/Kemp in 96 (with great pride! Dole was a great citizen & patriot!)
I voted for Bush/Cheney in 00 & 04 (even though Dick Cheney was scary as a VP!)
I voted for McCain/Palin in 08 (even though Sarah Palin was a laughing-stock candidate for VP)
I voted for Romney/Ryan in 12 (even though I would have preferred the ticket of Ryan/Romney!)
I voted for Trump/Pence in 16 - because who could possibly vote for another Clinton!

But I couldn't overlook Trumpism in 2020 - It was just a bridge-too-far for me!

So if that makes me a liberal - in the mind of a Fascist, Nazi, Trumpite? Sure!

Exactly. Why the fuck should I care about them?!

Until we have massive police reforms, police are the enemy of the people.

Most do not have mental health issues unless you call "dirty as fuck" a mental health issue.

Police will violate your constitutional, legal, and human rights, then hide behind Qualified Immunity.

It's twice as hard to become a barber as it is to become a cop.

I may not be as extreme as you (maybe because I know and like several local policemen and an FBI agent), but I agree: policing in America is broken.

And the point about training is one I've made several times: our Police need more training, and not MILITARY training! They're too militarized as it is!

Wait, you are blaming conservatives, but ignoring that your side loves to go maskless despite the rules they put in for everyone else.

Do you remember what your side said while Trump was still in office, but switched the second Biden was sworn in?

Do you remember how your beloved Honest Joe signed the Exec Order requiring masks on ALL federal properties, only to be photoed at the Lincoln Memorial with his family, and none of them were wearing masks?

The sister of Scotland's First Minister tweeted a picture of her maskless on the train, while there is an absolute mask mandate on public transport. Police Scotland said it was not something they are gonna investigate.

Scotland's First Minister and several other people in power (not the opposition parties) have flouted the mask mandate. This included some that had tested positive for C-19.

The UK and other countries, allow celebs and athletes to skip the quarantine mandates.

John Kerry was photoed on a flight without a mask.

Texas Dems tweeted countless photos of themselves on those 2 private planes without masks, spreading C-19 as they went.

You claim to be a libertarian, while you demand that everyone walk in lockstep.

I posted a video of the BBC office and none of them were wearing masks, despite the strict mask mandate and their screeching about the doom and gloom if everyone didn't mask up. The video's purpose was for the BBC's coverup of pedophilia throughout the UK, but the video also showed that they clearly didn't believe their own shit.

Before you go on about conservatives, you need to clean up your own party.

You keep presuming that I'm a liberal Democrat in disguise - simply because I don't follow Trumpism. If I were to do the same, I'd constantly be calling you a "Fascist, Nazi Trumpite"!

This is not the straw-man you are looking for! (hand waving slowly in front of your face)

Look, my posting wasn't about hypocritical politicians saying one thing and then doing another - those are BOUNTIFUL on both sides!

My post is about LARGE GROUPS of people deciding to listen to Politicians (vs. Physicians) with regards to MEDICAL advise... and now they're DYING as a result!

It's about the LARGE NUMBERS of my fellow Republicans burying their heads in the sand about this virus, and the Democrats (seldom the smartest in the room!) doing what's needed to stop the spread of this (very real!) virus!

And, it's about the MATH: far FAR more Republicans are dying from this disease now (esp here in Florida) than Democrats - and it's our own fault!

Yes, the medical science has changed on COVID over time - science isn't about getting it right the first time, REAL science is about guessing (it's called a hypothesis - remember middle school science class?), and then testing that guess against the facts. And when your GUESS is proven wrong, you refine your guess with another one... and repeat the process... until your guess is right!

When you enter into the process EARLY in the data gathering stage (like in early 2020 - when Trump was still President), there are more erroneous guesses... but the more data is gathered, the better the guesses become. In scientific terms, this is called "learning."

Look, you love it when I point out things Trump did right: and his early response to COVID-19 was completely correct, even if all the contact tracing and belief that the virus was spread by surface contact vs aerosol was actually wrong. In those early days, he "went with the science" and likely saved a LOT of lives with the early "shutdowns" - again, even if in hindsight it was over-broad and hurt the economy in ways that didn't HAVE to be. It was the best known course of action at the time. ... and it saved lives!

The early reaction of Trump to devote millions of Federal dollars to fast-tracking vaccine research also paid off! Unfortunately for Trump, it paid off a few months too late... had the vaccine been available in large quantities in July, 2020 the outcome of the election might have been very different! But that's not what happened.

The problem with Trump later in the year was that he lost confidence in his scientists. So he started looking around for new scientists... some that would tell him something other than "hundreds of thousands of people will die, you will be blamed (even though it isn't your fault), and you will likely lose re-election as a result"... While that was the truth he didn't want to hear it, and there were plenty of yes-men who would tell him the Sun was made of ice-cream if that's what he wanted to hear!

Because it's germane to the conversation about Trump's COVID response, let me say that Trump wanted to fill his administration with "the impossible dream" - the best of the best in every field (doable) who would do his bidding without question (doable). He expected to find people that could be both... and that turned out to be exceptionally rare! Even Pence and Barr couldn't meet Trumps standards of total and unquestioning loyalty like he expected!

But to get back to the point....

This vaccine and COVID-19 denial bullshit is killing US! - Not the other guys - just US!!!

Odd that you quoted a different post from the one you are complaining about.

Why should I care about the police?

And, it's you people that use 6 Jan for your political agenda.

Mea culpa - I "quoted" the last post in the thread vs. the offensive one above it.
I apologize... unlike you, I actually make a mistake from time to time... (actually, I make mistakes every day... it's part of being human in an active society)

In fact, you were also correct when you point out that these last 2 suicides make 4 officers who have succumbed to PTSD or other mental illness as a result of Jan 6 and taken their own lives as a result.

As for why you should care about the police? Hmmmm,.... maybe because - at least in this country - they carry guns and have the ability to crash into your home without notice for whatever reason they seem fit! It'd be nice to think that they'd be mentally stable with those "powers" - so that they wouldn't be making the decision to storm into my house, guns drawn - because it was a Poke-Gym and they needed points!

      I really haven't watched NewsMax.

LOL, you are such a clown. You are the one that said that I could only be a conservative if I supported Romney, McCain, Liz Cheney, etc, etc. So, in your view, conservatives are warhawk scumbags.

Let's not forget, Trump has not violated the US constitution in less than 7 months, like you guy, Honest Joe. He's even done it after a SCOTUS ruling against him.

You didn't like Trump because he bragged, but you love liar Joe because he lies. Can you tell us a job Honest Joe has not claimed to have done?

Oh, you DO love to substitute your own words for others', don't you.

Lots of Conservatives weren't happy with Romney, McCain, Cheney (either one), and so on... but Republicans supported them (at least Romney & McCain at the Presidential level) - or at least voted for them - because they were the candidate of the Party... the same way many people came 'round to supporting Trump in 2016.

Conservatism is a belief system, not a political party. Trump is not actually a Conservative in a lot of ways (tho he is in some other ways)...

      To be clear:

I didn't say you weren't a Conservative, I said you weren't a Republican before Trump! You've spent so much of your energy blindly supporting all things Trump, you've shared precious little of your own political philosophy... so I wouldn't dream of attaching a label to you in that regard...

      So:

      • Are you a Conservative now? maybe - you claim to be & you certainly stand behind Trump!
      • Were you a Conservative pre-2016? maybe - not enough data, but I wouldn't be surprised by that being a solid no...
      • Are you a Republican now? I don't think so... I think you're a Trumpite: and if he created a Trump Political Party as a replacement for the Republican Party, you'd go with him without hesitation. (I believe you follow the man, not the Party or the Philosophy)
      • Were you a Republican pre-2016? You have made it clear that the answer is a solid NO.

      @bi4smooth

You said you trust your doctor when he recommended the Pfizer shot for your under 18 son.

The J&J shot causes Guillain-Barré Syndrome but you would trust your doctor if he said to get it.

I guess your dentist also recommends full-mouth tooth extraction because teeth can get cavities.

We already know your vet recommends xylitol for dogs who need to lose weight.

That has nothing to do with your extreme TDS or maybe it does, how knows with you liberals. You made it about politics, so let's run with it.

You are such an expert at creating and then burning a straw-man!
The problem is, it's all data you make up!

When you wake up in the morning and put your feet on the bathroom floor, you are taking a risk (those tile floors can become VERY slippery when wet - and that's what bathroom floors are designed for: getting wet!)

If you want a vaccine that has zero side-effects on anyone who takes it, you'll have to wait for another 50 years or so - when they'll be able to "design" the vaccine for your own personal, unique, DNA. That ain't today!

You do realize that the original Polio vaccines in the mid-1950s actually CAUSED Polio (and death from it) in a tiny percentage of people who took it? Yet, people in the 1950's and 1960's lined up to get the shot - and Polio was all-but-wiped-out. (And some small number of people did actually die because of the vaccine itself).

A tiny percentage of children have adverse reactions to the MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccine every year.... yet, parents (and school systems) around the world still line up to get nearly all children that shot as well.

If you applied the same level of fear mongering and hyperbole to the act of driving, you'd be running around with your hair on fire trying to stop people from dying on the streets!

      Back to the point:

My doctor did recommend that my son take the Pfizer vaccine - and he did, and he's had no side effects (other than, presumably, being better prepared to fight off the COVID virus, should he encounter it). That recommendation echoed the CDC and FDA recommendations. Again, if there is a Pfizer recommendation against it, I haven't seen it.

And even more to the point:

I expect, and depend on my Dr to know the truth about these things - and to separate the "wheat from the chaff" with all the dis-information being spread. If my Dr was not a better interpreter of this information than I am, then I wouldn't need her as a Dr, would I? I'd just do it all myself. (Sorry, I have a certain amount of hubris - but nowhere near that amount!)

RE: The J&J shot (and the others like it that use the older, "dead virus" vaccine technology)
I have recommended to my friends and family that they take a pass on that one, and choose one of the mRNA versions instead.

The rest of your hyperbolic firestorm of assholery isn't worth responding to... that straw-man doesn't exist, except in your deepest psyche...

@manhandler said in CDC now says Vaccinated are the ones spreading the new Delta variant.:

@bi4smooth Your "facts" are just wrong. The PCR test is not a diagnostic, and in fact, the FDA has revoked it's use. So there is no way to tell if the people being hospitalized are there for Covid or something else like the Flu, which they also said they cannot distinguish between that and Covid. You can cry all you want that those people are infected with Covid, but the fact of the matter remains: the PCR does not diagnose, the test is 100% invalid, and is being done away with. So you DO NOT KNOW if the people in the hospital are in fact, infected with Covid or not, because the test itself has been deemed invalid and unsafe.

      You know what?

      I give up!

The virus is actually killing people like you (science deniers and anti-vaxers), and while it's still infecting people like me (vaccinated, mask-wearing, and cautious), we have taken precautions, so we are not dying! Hell, we're not even going to the hospital, much less dying!

So... stick your head in the sand, and DIE!

...and when you die (whether by COVID, or other cause - because we all eventually die!) you will face your maker... and I hope you are judged fairly. Not just for the harm you have done to yourself, but for the harm you have done to others with your attempts to dissuade them from protecting themselves. Fairly... and not by me! - I don't presume to judge.

I do, however, presume to be able to read scientific literature... and your lot are the ones dying - in numbers that are increasing daily... so deny deny deny and die! Math does not lie.

    • Voter Suppression - a new twist

      Do the math:

      • 70% of self-reporting Democrats in the US are vaccinated against COVID-19. In some parts of the country, that number gets close to 90%...
      • 15% of self-reporting Republicans in the US are vaccinated against COVID-19. In some parts of the country, that number gets closer to 5%...
      • 95%+ of hospitalizations (and deaths) of COVID-19 infections are un-vaccinated folks

480 people died yesterday in the US from COVID-19. And the numbers are RISING (not falling anymore)...

Just using the statistics (not high-level math, just spit-balling it) - at least 400 of those 480 souls were Republicans.

By continuing to fight against every tool we have against COVID-19 (vaccines and masks), our Republican leaders are literally killing our own electorate!

Here in Florida, if cases STOPPED increasing, and just held steady (an improbable dream), we'll lose at least 70,000 Republican voters by the November 2022 elections.

This is a red-purple state - statewide elections are sometimes decided by fewer than 10,000 votes. We can't afford to lose 70,000 "red" voters and expect to still win!

This isn't looking good for DeSantis' re-election (Governor), nor Rubio's (Senator). WFT people! Wake up and smell the coffee!

We need to accept that COVID-19 isn't (and never was) a political issue. It wasn't created to cost Trump his presidency (though, it most certainly did have that effect!), and it's not a Government attempt to control your lives. It actually is a societal and Governmental attempt to save your ass!

We aren't hurting Democrats or Independents... we're hurting (no, killing) ourselves!

It may be crude and not politically correct, but if you're stupid enough to think these statistics are being made up by the liberal media, then perhaps the "Darwin Effect" is an appropriate measure for you!

      • The "Darwin Effect" is a term used when someone who winds up killing themselves having done something so incredibly stupid that it is considered a genetic benefit to the human race to have had their genetic material removed from genealogical history.

You do love liberal media. That is how you "know" much about QAnon compared to the rest of us. You also routinely post liberal sites as sources.

The national broadcasters (ABC, BBC, CBC, etc) are all liberal outlets. Because you are so liberal, you don't think it. Regardless of their political stance, everyone in the UK knows there is a fight over the BBC being very liberal. Hell, CBBC aka Children's BBC, teaches kids all the "progressive" crap, like Critical Race Theory and whatnot.

I'm not talking about being wrong. I'm talking about Fauci being a liar.

He's been proven in both Houses of Congress to be a liar over GOF research and other topics.

He admitted he lied about masks so there would be some for the first responders. You know, a similar lie Trump told so there wouldn't be mass panics, but you liberals went mental over that. Can we say DOUBLE STANDARDS?

Ok, so you have proven that you liberals can't tell the difference between doing good or doing evil. Soros has used his money to cause shit storms across the globe and he's said he doesn't see the problem with it; ie destroying the Japanese economy in the 1990s. Soros, a jew, was also a jew hunter for the nazis, so we know where his morals lie. Bill gates stole the DOS code from a friend's garage and he continued from there.

There's also a huge difference between 2nd Amendment stuff and bringing illegals to western countries. Koch Bros vs Soros.

Every time you say something, you show that you are a Hillary-Pelosi Democrat.

Fauci didn't LIE about his recommendation that we not wear masks early in the pandemic! He said there were 2 reasons:

      • First, they thought it was spread by contact, not aerosol. (They were wrong, but that is what was thought at the time)
      • Second, they didn't want there to be a run on masks - they wanted them to be there for medical professionals and first responders (a legitimate need - don't you remember the shortages of them early on? **Damn you have a short and selective memory!)

The issue isn't good vs evil Rich People... I'm all for saying I disagree with the Koch brothers on certain issues (I agree on others), as well as disagreeing with almost everything Soros does, and a mixed bag on what Gates does... My point is that they get to spend their own money however they see fit - even for political motives that are counter to my own! That doesn't make them evil, it makes them "the opposition"...

Once again, the point was clear and concise, and you missed it completely!

It's their money, and they get to spend it however they want!

I'm sure if you had that much money, you'd spend it on donuts and whores... but that'd be your choice, wouldn't it?

Making the opposition out to be evil is a tool of the weak and intolerant. (Do you need a mirror?)

I had a similar experience which did not end well. If you can stay in the safe zone of sexual encounters then it is ok but if you have feelings it is better to take your distance from him. This guy will never accept you as a central part in his life, he does not respect you and he refuses to give you his phone number. You will only be a fringe part of his life and he will come to you only when he will want sex with men.

There are many men out there who would be more open and available for you, don't be disapointed.

      I agree - only partially - with @nikolaos84...

First, I agree that if you continue to force yourself and your feelings onto him, you're almost certain to lose him (not to mention drive him deeper into his "closet"...

It's never easy - for any of us! - to come to terms with the fact that we're not wired the way "society" says we're supposed to be wired! For some, "bucking the norm" is easy, and for others it's nearly impossibly hard.

That said, I wouldn't write him off completely: you never know when he'll wake up and realize that dick/ass makes him harder than pussy! When he does, you may or may-not be there to reap the rewards. It may be next week, next month, or in 40 years (yes, when he's in his 70's! I've seen that happen!)

If you can step back, accept him for who & what he is: a hot fuck who is unsure of his sexuality. Enjoy the sex, maybe let it also blossom into a friendship, but do not try to turn it into a relationship, nor try to make yours some kind of monogamous thing.... instead, try to help him explore his sexuality... try new things with him (clothing/costumes, light bondage, whatever.. let HIM suggest things... but let him know "it's just sex play"... nothing "serious"...

Of course, if we could turn our emotions on and off, life would be soooooo much simpler... it's entirely possible that that kind of relationship with him is just impossible for you... in which case, you can leave him or drive him away... if you continue to pursue him too aggressively, surely one of those 2 options will come to fruition!

Good luck! I hope you have some great sex and he eventually figures out how queer he is - and accepts it (and appreciates you for being patient with him)!!

Nearly identical quotes from supposedly different people?

      Not hardly...

Certainly there are break-thru cases of COVID-19 - the same as kids who have been vaccinated against measles can still get a slight case if someone in their school get it! The danger (in school) isn't that it starts spreading because one kid gets it... the danger is that, even though nearly everyone WILL get it if it is brought into the school environment - and some of those kids (and adults) will not have been vaccinated, and so will get very sick (and possibly die)....

Vaccines don't stop you from getting the virus, they simply prepare your body so that when it is invaded by the virus, you don't get so sick (or possibly even sick at all).

Did none of you take Biology 1 in High School?
Did they not teach you how viruses and infections spread?
      Geez!

@bi4smooth I don't think that "science" change, but the results do, when we get smarter. And what is wrong about getting smarter. Some people have always had a problem with science, because it conflicts their world view. It has been that way for centuries.

Absolutely science changes... Heisenberg changed how we measure things. Newton changed our understanding of mass vs. weight (they are NOT the same). Hawking changed how we think of and measure time.

But separate from how science itself changes, the conclusions we make from scientific studies changes... especially when we base our conclusions on limited data... and we got that in spades with COVID-19: everyone was clamoring for answers, so the scientists gave them what they had: knowing the data was incomplete. And that made them wrong... wrong far more often than we like hearing that scientists are wrong!

There is an acronym often used in computer science: GIGO
      Garbage in / Garbage out

When you have small sample sizes, your conclusions can be thrown off by the smallest of anomalies... but that is the beauty of science - we LEARN from our mistakes! We (scientists) challenge our assumptions and SEEK to prove our theories WRONG! (You can seldom prove a theory is valid, but you can often prove it wrong! The more people try - and fail - to prove a theory is wrong, the more accepted as "probably right" it becomes!

@lololulu19 said in CDC: 397 Children Suffered Heart Inflammation After COVID-19 Vaccine:

@raphjd When #senilejoe 's aides told him about giving children a little prick to vaccinate them from Covid-19, Joe started salivating at the idea of giving children a little prick. And remember Joe's motto! "6ring, 6ack, 6etter!"

Maybe this logic doesn't work for you, but it does for me!

Donald Trump knows jack shit about medicine. He couldn't spell NIH before COVID-19 without a dictionary! When Medical Doctors told him something he didn't like, he just ignored it and lied about it! I will take medical advise from Donald Trump when I take relationship advise from the Kardashians! Or, financial advise from the Madoff's!

When they're not being asked to summarize 1000 pages of research into a 15-second sound bite, the CDC and the NIH release TONS of research.. research you and I couldn't understand unless we spent 12 years in college studying medicine and infectious diseases! But fortunately for me, I know someone who CAN read those studies and get something useful out of them: my family Doctors! (Hey... you know what? They actually DID spend 12 years in college (including Medical School) studying this shit!)

So, I personally have chosen my Doctor (and my kids' Doctor) partly based on my interview with them - that included how and how much they stay up-to-date with new medical studies. So, when I asked my Dr what she thought about the COVID-19 vaccine, she wasn't acting blindly, or based on what President Trump said, or on what Dr. Faucci said! She based her response on what the ACTUAL researchers at NIH and the FDA actually wrote - and had published, as well as peer-reviewed.

For what its worth: my first COVID-19 shot came BEFORE Biden was President, and the 2nd came AFTER.

That aside, when my kids' Pediatrician said my son SHOULD get the shot, but my daughter should wait - and was able to articulate clearly how the risks to HIM were different than those to HER, I knew I had chosen wisely. My son has received 2 Pfizer shots, and we're all remaining VERY CAREFUL to help make sure my unvaccinated daughter isn't infected - at least not from us!

      Long story short:

      • I trust my Drs when it comes to MEDICINE.
      • I trust my CPA when it comes to my taxes
      • I trust my financial advisor when it comes to making investments & planning for retirement
      • I trust my politicians for.... umm.....

      NOTHING!

I do not trust politicians at all! Not of any kind!

@bi4smooth Prayers! They did well for centuries too. And if you died, at least you came in heaven, because you prayed ✝

      Absolutely!

For people who don't want SCIENCE (what with it's constantly CHANGING of what's right theory and what's wrong theory), there is always FAITH!

And as you point out, FAITH HEALING has a 100% success rate at sending souls to heaven! Yippy Skippy!

For me, though... and it's just a personal choice... I'll stick with the science...
