I don't love the liberal media - but I also don't worship the conservative media. I really don't need other people to interpret facts for me... I literally have 2 master's degrees from top universities in the US, and also quite literally started my career as a "rocket scientist"... so I think I can figure much of this crap out without the help of news "pundits" - on either end of the spectrum.

I also don't answer for media outlets I don't (or, at least, seldom) watch.

If you're trying to say "liberal politicians and pundits lie, but conservative ones tell the truth", then you're not just a fool, you're a damned fool.

I'm not aware of ANY US-based media outlet that is "centrist" (that is, doesn't lean - to some degree or other - left or right).... to get an "unbiased" view, I often (as I've said here before) consult media outlets from other countries: where they don't "have a dog in the fight"... they're not always right (correct), but they don't spin the shit out of everything else, either.

I agree that liberal media sometimes makes shit up (or so it seems to me) and/or has shaky sources.. but how is that worse than the Trump/Fox merry-go-round? (Trump tells Fox an obvious lie - like his inauguration in 2017 was the largest in history! - which Fox reports (citing the President of the US as a source)... then Trump "backs up" his story by saying something akin to "I don't know, but it was reported on Fox, so it must be true!"

Consult your pediatrician before giving your child ANY vaccine... ESP the COVID-19 one...

• If you TRUST your pediatrician, take their advise
• If you DO NOT TRUST your pediatrician, get a new one! (What kind of asshole parent takes their kids to a pediatrician they do not trust?)

As much as I am in-favor of COVID-19 vaccines for adults (nearly all adults), I am still of the opinion that you should ask your Dr. about any medical decision... and the same goes for your own (adult) Dr. as for your kids pediatrician: if you do not trust your own Dr, get a new one!

The Government shouldn't be making medical decisions for you: not about vaccines, not about flu shots, not about anything... Your medical decisions should be made (privately) between you and your Dr.

Let's share the WHOLE story, shall we? It's not that vaccinated people are the one's spreading the Delta variant of COVID-19 (as-if they're the only ones)... it is that vaccinated people carry just as much virus in their upper respiratory systems as non-vaccinated people - and therefore can spread the virus just as easily as non-vaccinated people. (not more, not less, just about the same as the unvaccinated...)

Mind you, the vaccinated REMAIN unlikely to be hospitalized from the infection - many still non-symptomatic (which makes things worse, because they spread it while not even aware that they're sick!) - but vaccines have never completely stopped viruses from spreading - they've ALWAYS been ways to "spike" our immune systems into a position so that we can FIGHT the infection more easily, not GET SICK from it, and in many cases (like the Flu, Polio, Chicken Pox, Measles, etc) prevent it from spreading... which, over time, can all-but eliminate the spread of the virus entirely...

True, the CDC and NIH are still learning new things about COVID-19 (esp. the different variants) every day... and it's also true that they've gotten some things wrong (like contact spread - when's the last time they told you to wipe-down your groceries in the garage before bringing them into the house?).

No one claims we've figured this thing out completely... yes, we're still learning... but we're idiots if we don't moderate our behaviors based on what we DO know, and modify them even more when we learn even more!

The facts from Florida (USA) are this:

• 183 people died from COVID-19 on July 30th (the last day I could find stats)
• 180 of them were non-vaccinated prior to being hospitalized (according to that liberal media monolith, the Miami Herald)

It seems to me that we (Republicans) have taken the idea of "voter suppression" (the Dem's characterization - one I do not share, but it is illustrative in this point) to new heights.... but we're doing it to ourselves... and permanently!

A VAST majority of those 183 now-dead souls are (more factually: were) Republicans who believe the misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines and refuse to be vaccinated.... putting themselves, and their communities (of mostly also-Republicans) at higher risk - and this Delta strain is a real pisser when compared to the one we were looking at last year!

Over 90% of hospitalizations in Florida are non-vaccinated people, and the vast majority of them are Republican voters who are buying into this "vaccines are a way of controlling us" (or worse) bullshit!

We are LITERALLY killing our own voter base!

The vaccines are a direct result of the scientific research prompted, prodded, and spurred on by President Trump! This is, in many ways, his vaccine program! All the Dems have done is distribute the Trump vaccines...

More importantly, though: come November 2022, it's going to be hard to keep Rubio as our US Senator if literally thousands of Republican voters can only vote from the grave!

Statewide races in Florida are often decided by fewer than 10,000 votes - if not even 1,000 votes!

180 people a day times 400+ days is more than 70,000 voters!

...and it's getting WORSE, not better!

I just filled out a survey for the Nat'l Republican Congressional Committee... it talks a lot about needing to unify the party... and I agree... but to do that, shouldn't we be looking forward and not backward?
