Do you mean like how it was only after the election that liberal media started admitting that Hunter's laptop was real?

Do you mean like who all those liberal darlings were spewing lies on TV, but in Shifty Schiff's secret hearings in the bunker, where your beloved liberal media only talked about the lies spewed on TV and totally ignored the sworn testimony?

      What about....

It's the "follow the science" twats that pass these crackhead laws.

It's the same people that used "science" in 1930s Germany.

Your knowledge and understanding of history is astounding! ... In a negative, "you don't really understand SHIT" way... Let me guess, the last time you actually studied 1930's Germany was in your teens and you barely scraped by with a D in the class...

Of course, it's racist toward far east asians.

Actually, I think it's more of a fetish thing than a racist thing... "racist" implies prejudice against or antagonism based on race... this is a prejudice FOR a race.... or, more directly, a nationality...

Still, by any measure or label, it's 'over the line'

Why are the liberals so silent on this topic?!

You'd think they would support this train wreck called Ollie London.

Of course, the left can't figure out how to handle this, as they know it's racist, but they blindly support anything labeled as "TRANS".

Then again, the left see a white "guy" (non-conforming) be racist toward "near white" Koreans, so they don't give a shit and just focus on the "trans" issue.

Isn't that offensive to Asian people?

I mean, isn't this taking "racial & cultural appropriation" a little too far?

I get it - K-Pop stars are cute as buttons, but spending a $quarter-million on cosmetic surgery to look Korean?

That's crazy - like asylum crazy - but then claiming that "by surgical means" that you actually are Korean? Uh.... NO!

Maybe this is also where/how I'm OK with trans-SEXUAL people... if you want to lop off your penis, remove all your body hair, and have breast implants - and act like a woman - that's your right, but it's awfully close to a mental disorder.

But after the surgery you're still genetically male, even if your gender role has been reassigned to female.

I'm on PrEP myself, and I prefer having sex with men who are also HIV- and on PrEP or who are POZ-Undetectable (if you're on HIV drugs, I'm more comfortable fucking and being fucked bare!)

To me, the risky ones are the HIV- ones who have bare sex based on the "self-reporting" of the other guy(s)...

Yes! I'd just give the 90% to my mother, and she'd no doubt let me have it back (if it's allowed) or just spend it how I wanted it spent.
If it's 90% given away randomly to someone... Hmmm. Yes, I could still do a lot with that 10%.

For A Million Dollars Would You get sterilized (vasectomy)?

Yes, I wasn't making babies anyway!

For a million dollars would you go to your high school reunion and blow your HS crush in front of everyone? (Or at least ask him in case his wife was there... LOL)

Hell, I'd blow my HS crush in front of cameras (again!) - for free!

I doubt he's as hot now as he was 40 years ago, but the memories it would bring back!

Would you, for $1Million, live a completely nudist lifestyle in the city-center of a large, metropolitan area? (remaining nude 24/7, inside and outside)?

Is there anything I need to do to fix this - it's quite recent problem and nothing at my end has changed

      Thanks x

I have been reading on Reddit that a lot of people are having issues with Transmission (the version released back in May - but the problems seem to be more recent).

My educated guess is that some support module/library for Transmission has been changed/updated - causing these issues.

Because it's on Reddit, I suspect the coders already know there is an issue... whether they've isolated the cause is a different matter.

You may want to consider an alternative torrent client.

    • RE: HPV vaccine

The HPV vaccine is typically given to children (early teens). (SIDE NOTE: All of my children have been vaccinated against HPV - the vaccine isn't radically new...)

HPV is a sexually-transmitted disease, but these effects (cancers, warts, etc) can take DECADES to appear. The vaccine is NOT effective if you've already been infected, which is why it is recommended for young teens - hopefully BEFORE they become sexually active.

Because the effects take so long to appear, the current HPV vaccines are NOT recommended for people over the age of 45. (I have no idea where they get that "magic number" from - not all that different from the rationale that men over 70 don't need prostate exams any longer).

Wikipedia isn't a bad source for more info - not because it has all the answers, but because there are usually links to sources for what it DOES say.

    • RE: California to turn San Quentin's death row into a 'positive, healing environment'

@geobear40 again astounds me with his deeply thoughtful, logical, insightful responses...

      NOT!

This is liberals doing what liberals do best! It's news in the same way that a dog taking a giant dump in the park is news! (Not that it shouldn't be reported - it's lunacy, and it should be reported... but you shouldn't act shocked by it!)

      Some facts:

      • Californians vote in 2016 to streamline the execution process, given that no CA inmate has been executed since 2006. BUT, Gov Newsome doesn't like the death penalty, so he hasn't signed any warrants for them...
      • Californians have repeatedly shown (in referendum after referendum) that they are in favor of prisons being PUNITIVE (punishment) for criminals, not CORRECTIVE (therapeutic) measures for them.BUT, Gov Newsome doesn't agree, and is going to turn "Death Row" into a "feelings room" or other kind of "safe space" for these poor souls, who just need personal growth, and someone who cares to turn their lives around!
      • Newsome plans to release death-row inmates into the general prison population.... All I have to say to that is: the original goal was to kill some inmates... maybe this is a more "democratic" (certainly a more Darwinian) way to do that?

Hopefully, CA voters (the ones who want to PUNISH criminals, not CATER TO them!) will choose better in Nov!

    • RE: Seattle planned to transfer police precinct to Black Lives Matter during the deadly autonomous zone

@geobear40 said in Seattle planned to transfer police precinct to Black Lives Matter during the deadly autonomous zone:

@raphjd It took the press almost 2 years to uncover the truth.

It is the duty of the press in a free society to keep an eye on the government for the people.

Instead, the press is the propaganda arm of the Liberals.

Is it any wonder that FOX has the highest ratings in all of Cable. It is even beating network news shows. People want to be told the truth.

Sigh... @geobear40 you astound me with your inability to see your own irony! Where's POGO when you need him?

As a result of a liberal newspaper, in a liberal city, investigating a liberal city government, it is revealed that they were floating some really wacky ideas in the "heat" of the George Floyd protests 18 months ago.

Ceding the police department building to the local BLM organization was just one of the many ideas being floated - also, was an idea of running the Police Dept out of a bunch of portable offices! (NOTE: if you read the actual Seattle Times article instead of the right-wing internet troll site's "summary", you learn a LOT MORE).

Man, they were clearly in a panic, and evidence shows that City leadership was splintered and ineffective (gosh darn, that's unexpected! I thought Liberal / Progressive Dems had ALL the answers! Where were the rainbow-farting unicorns? They'd have calmed everyone down!)

But no, @geobear40 - your take is that, because it took a year and a half to get the story, the Press wasn't doing it's job. Because, in your rose-colored world, when the press asks questions, the politicians answer - honestly & quickly! You live in a fantasy world (something you demonstrate frequently). Sorry dude, but investigative journalism takes time! - And politicians don't generally cooperate, either!

THIS WAS THE PRESS DOING THEIR JOB!

BTW: The damning part about this story wasn't so much the revelations about considering ceding a $5million property to BLM, but how long it took to abandon the idea, and how many "support people" were pushing the ideas (including other wacky ideas too!)

Just a suggestion for interested readers: when there's a story about Seattle in the "political press", read the local Seattle press to get the more accurate story.

So, the next time you read a Newsmax story about a New Orleans thingy - stop and read the New Orleans Times-Picayune version of the story! Maybe the local paper is more liberal or more conservative than your own tastes, but the local paper will have a LOT more room for a LOT MORE detail than your "political press" - and those details are what make the REAL story!

Back to the main topic - DAMN! Seattle was a real shit-show back then! (Virtually ALL of the city leadership - even Police leadership - are different now. Less incompetent? No way to know until another crisis comes!)

Nice work by the paper to uncover just how discombobulated City leaders were during that month!

You don't really have to search hard to find examples of that - for politicians of either party, to be fair

@geobear40 said in MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan: non-Muslims and atheists are 'cattle,' compares gays to incestuous pedophiles:

      @raphjd

That network is fine with hate speech and racism as long as "white people" aren't the ones spewing it.

MSNBC is in the same camp as Newsmax and, to a lesser extent, FoxNews.... in fact, it was CREATED to be a "liberal alternative" to FoxNews!

IMHO, MSNBC isn't nearly as "polished" as FoxNews, but they're all (Newsmax too) about political messaging, vs actual news reporting.

All of them feature some awful people as "reporters" (or commentators-posing-as-reporters). HOW awful they are depends mostly on your own political views...

    • RE: Johns Hopkins Researchers: Lockdowns Had Little Impact on COVID Deaths

It doesn't take a rocket scientist (note: I say that often because I was one, working in Range Safety at Cape Canaveral Air Force [now, Space Force] Station for 7 years in the 80's and 90's) to see how the lockdowns failed.

      1. for the lockdowns to have truly been effective, you'd have had to have STAYED locked down for an entire "incubation period" - THEN, you'd have to have effective measures in place to prevent the re-introduction of the virus into the population. BOTH were untenable: we couldn't stay locked-down for that long, and since the rest of the world wasn't so locked down, the virus came back as soon as we let people out!
      2. lockdowns in areas where there was no virus was a waste of time and resources. If we've learned ANYTHING about medical emergencies and pandemic responses, it's that IT'S ALL LOCAL!!
Did NYC and SF need a lockdown? YES!
Did Des Moines and Green Bay need a lockdown? NO!
      3. As a result of taking such a drastic action (which IS what the scientists told Trump to do!), even in areas that had not yet seen a single COVID-19 case, we "lost the confidence" of most of middle America... if they never saw a case, and then were told to hide in their homes (from the boogey man), and no one got better or worse from that hiding, then the idea that it was a "hoax" wasn't so hard to believe!
By the time the virus DID get there, the idea that it was all a hoax was ingrained. Add on top of that the politicization of the whole virus-response system, and yeah - we set ourselves up nice and pretty for this complete shit-show of a pandemic response!

      Keep in mind:

      • When you tell a politician they were wrong, they fight back and try - with everything they can muster to prove that they were either NOT WRONG, or were misled...
      • When you tell a scientist they were wrong, they ask to see the data, file it away, and move on... mistakes are how science makes progress! Mistakes are "part of the gameplan!"

Science is mainly "educated guessing" - and when you realize your guess was wrong, you learn from it! Rarely, you may guess wildly and discover you were actually right (like the discovery of penicillin) - but usually, you guess 3000 times and finally find one that kinda-sorta works, so you try to find out WHY it works so you can guess better (and faster) next time!

In this case, we haven't seen a pandemic like this in 100 years, so we kinda discarded many of the things they learned from "back then" - we shouldn't have. But, we did have a 2-decade+ head start on mRNA vaccine research, and this virus was "tailor made" for that kind of vaccine - which allowed us to get a useful vaccine in RECORD TIME!

Did anyone else catch the news release about Novavax requesting EUA from the FDA for their new COVID-19 vaccine? It was developed using the OLD SCIENCE ways - the way most other vaccines were.

      Why is that important? Because:
      a) it took a YEAR longer to get a vaccine "the old way";
      b) now we can compare the results of old vaccine tech and new vaccine tech; and
      c) had we NOT had the new vaccine tech, the Delta variant likely would have added upwards of 2-million more deaths in the US alone

We're approaching 900-thousand deaths in the US now, in early 2022

That said, you claim that "science says so" is just plain dumb... idiotic dumb...

Science didn't tell those Aussies to pass that dumb law... Science just said "get people vaccinated. It saves lives"

Idiot lawmakers decided one way to convince people to get the shot is to make their access to alcohol dependent on it... dumb logic, but that wasn't science's position... science didn't say HOW to get people vaccinated, only that it was needed!

Might want to write the helpdesk to be sure, but I believe that, if you use some logical blocking and each "collection" stands on its own, you should be good - ESPECIALLY if you put a link in the description that people can find it all in one place at the original torrent location (and keep seeding both sets!)

So, for example: you posed a 4TB site rip of Sweet & Raw (used as an example because they don't exist an longer)...

Most people do not have 4TB to spare, but if you broke it down into individual years (2008-2015 in this case - 8 separate torrents), I think that'd "pass muster" 🙂
