You probably just had to wait until peers connected to your seeding torrent, especially if it was the only one you were seeding, for utorrent to recognize your connectivity.

Aside from what Apathetic pointed out, another positive result might be users valuing their accounts more and trying to be good members.
Not giving explanations while also not wanting to get questions is a bold move, wanting to eat your cake and have it too. Bold moves often win the day. As there's nothing to suggest it wouldn't provide him occassional success, he should use it as often as he likes. People can also be given an opportunity to do more and give more if they know more.
Yep…I believe most people won't ask questions if he just acts normal and goes with the flow. It should be apparent that he was born that way from the sound of it, so what's there to ask? Like it, or be OK with it, or don't. Explaining might turn a minor issue into a big one and kill the mood, or make it a whole drawn out 'thing', where everything would have been fine otherwise if he just whipped it out. Even with an explanation beforehand, and this seems tough to describe, guys won't really know until they see it so why not save time and go straight to show and tell time?

I believe it's most definitely for the cash. They put out new drugs knowing people will still get HIV which is a huge money maker for them. Coincidentally <sarcasm>, a lot of major pharmacy chains here in the USA are very supportive of the LGBT community or very gay friendly and I don't believe it's for the right reasons, just more money. Spintendo: I'm not certain, but I think charlesperr's friend has a different condition than hypospadias from the description in his OP. It sounds more like a more minor cosmetic problem where the head of the penis isn't divided/indented/cleft on the backside. Looks like the term might be glans meatal cleft (?), and he doesn't have one…unless you saw the pics. ??? I looked up hypospadias, and charlesperr didn't mention a misplaced external urethral orifice (pee hole). ???

I've had to edit several torrent titles while checking the torrent list, and that's by biggest pet peeve aside from 0 pics or worthless ones.
Some users put a description for the torrent title which is completely different than the file name or actual film name, or leave the title a mess (words jumbled together or misspelled).
A lot of users aren't following the description rules for Collections (adding a file list), so it doesn't seem too promising that we can get them to add better descriptions in general since apparently too many people don't read all the rules. Well, it would be an ongoing battle for a loooong time. Descriptions are nice, but they've never been a requirement here. I agree with others that it's not always possible to make good descriptions when you don't have details about the video which happens with a lot of clips. It can sometimes be difficult to make a good description in that case, unless you're a novelist or movie critic or something similar. The uploader might forget where he got it by the time he uploads it here also. And then there's foreign films. Take the Asian category for example. I remember spending a lot of time searching for a proper description for an Asian film someone else uploaded and never any description at all, so again the user might not always be able to provide a good description…unless they're willing and capable of writing their own synopsis or review.
I'm more concerned with proper titles and pics.

We already basically have them. Torrent titles should at least state film name (studio isn't always possible, e.g. clips) or describe the video if the file name is numerical or random characters and the uploader doesn't have additional info. The title should match the file name if it's intelligible -no descriptions for the torrent title or other crap if the file name has the proper movie title. Pictures are already required and system enforced upon torrent uploading. Other users can upload pictures for bonus points and fix torrents with unacceptable pics if they're bothered or just want to help. Descriptions are optional and I'd leave them that way.

Try to get the user to fix it or fix it ourselves I suppose. I don't see a reason to remove or restrict them if the file itself is good and doesn't break rules. I guess we could maybe restrict repeat offenders who make crap torrent download pages and review the torrent first before letting it go live, tho I'd hesitate to do that when download pages are fixable.

All movies/clips should have at least 1 picture from the uploader, it's not difficult you just capture a screen shot while your watching the item in question.
I agree, tho there's people out there who don't know how to do a screenshot sadly. Ever see someone post a pic of their monitor screen in a thread -lol? I have. Oh well, we have a guide for that too. Pictures are already required and system enforced upon torrent uploads. AFAIK that bug still may exist where pics get deleted after upload (?), don't remember if it ever got fixed, but that and possibly Mods deleting unrelated pics is the reason for 0 pic download pages appearing on the torrent list. Sigh, some people even upload one of the torrent category icons for their 1 pic, or lovely landscape pics, or other random stuff.
My two cents worth is to have as few 'requirements' as possible.

I love Speedmaster8's global stencil suggestion minus requiring all fields be filled out for the upload button to be functional since descriptions are optional, and also it would slow the process. It'd be nice if QTM was updated too if this gets implemented.
Thinking about this more, and after reading Speedmaster8's post, I got an idea. 
What if we let users upload descriptions for bonus points as with pictures???
Descriptions go to a queue to be reviewed by Mods. Users get points only if their description gets approved. Users who spam crap descriptions trying to get points get removed.
Speedmaster8's template can be incorporated in the description upload form too.
Users who intend to replace descriptions should c/p into their updated description whatever relevant portions the old description had.
Creating and enforcing tighter rules would hurt the torrent list more than it'd help IMO. Some people might upload less or take their torrents elsewhere, and users new to uploading might be even more put off. Torrent download pages can be fixed by us, and users can help too. The most important part is if the file itself is OK and is what's advertised on the 'tin'.

When I click on your or anyone's torrent comment number it works for me, as always.
I would have gone immediately for a ban >:D given that the individual was deliberately trying to cheat the system and ultimately deceive downloaders. That said, I always marvel at how free of trouble and grief this site is compared to many others. This doesn't happen by accident, it's largely down to you guys who moderate it fairly.

That was my first inclination, but I was on a vacation and in an easy going mood :), but actually wanted to sleep on it and get some input too. I thought I should maybe try to be overly fair GT-style.
I ban people all the time for things I won't mention here ;), and insta-bans are definitely warranted there. I don't go out much (to the other gay torrent sites) so I don't know about their problems much, but it's nice to hear we're doing well in that department.
Well, I looked at Uwe's chart a bit differently in a joking way because there are several warning steps in between ranging from 1 day to 8 weeks to unlimited (9 in my book), but Uwe of course what Uwe wrote is correct. Depending on the offense we're supposed to start out with either a PM warning and note in the user's profile or a 1 day to 3 days warning for more sever offenses, then escalate the warnings if it continues, usually up to 3 real warnings and ban on the forth. We're more lenient than other private trackers in almost all cases. Thanks for offering your help martini20 :), but there's nothing to help with there. You could apply for a Moderator position tho if you'd like. Just send Uwe a PM.
OK, so I noticed his terrible upload speed and wondered what sort of connection he has. Turns out it looks like he has some of the worst data caps I've ever seen. All that's available from his ISP are 5Mbps or 10Mbps download connections with either a 15GB or a 35GB data cap. Then I "caved" and changed his warning to only 2 more weeks after seeing that. ^-^ You can't really do shit with a connection like that. Wow, we'd definitely go over on the first day in this household, our 300GB cap isn't enough sometimes even while trying to be careful. I recommended he get a seedbox. So it seems it was a bad case of desperation and porn torrent withdrawals. He's been seeding the whole time and behaving at least. He'll get an insta-ban from me if he ever does that again and I get to him first tho.
@__All__: Please use the report button at the bottom of each torrent download page for torrents such as these, or any others which have problems ("Click here to report this torrent to staff for other violations of the rules").
Sorry that you got caught by this picture spammer anthonydraco. Hope the torrent you downloaded wasn't too large. A newer Mod, I suspect, who was doing picture approvals got too…clicky. So sorry for the inconvenience and frustration this caused.

I caught this user the other day and was so mad that I gave him the most severe warning straightaway (arbitrary warning -permanent). The warning might get removed, or his account might get removed. We'll see…
I went straight to step 4 (maybe step 9 :)) because this was done so deliberately to try and cheat the system! He even uploaded Gay sex pics to Straight torrents.
The reason I didn't ban him right then was because I thought it might cause some disputes amongst Staff concerning some of our guidelines. Then again, a Moderator isn't supposed to override another Moderator's decision. Heavy cheaters usually do get banned tho.
We can see who uploaded the pics when we approve or disapprove them.
We've discussed awarding bonus points for reporting other torrents (not just duplicates) as well, maybe that'll get implemented one day.
Okay, can I ask why some snatches are in the billions? Surely it couldn't have been downloaded by one sixth of the world? (Granted, some gay porn is good, but not that good)

I agree with you about the 48hr period. For me it mostly comes down to letting the users decide how and when they want to spend their points.

Your idea for dead torrents won't work because of the way free-leech is implemented, it's for everyone or no one. It can't be for certain user groups or ratio levels.
Speedmaster8 and amice gave what most likely seems to be the explanation to your perceived ratio discrepancies, and IMO I think it's just that.
Short version;
When you download torrents from other sites, you still upload some data while downloading and that adds to your over all totals in your bittorrent client.
So those upload totals in your torrent client aren't purely from torrents from this site.
To compare what your torrent client says vs the GT.ru website, you'd have to add the total uploaded amount from EACH gaytorrent.ru torrent.
Keep in mind that it probably won't be exact because of overhead, but it should be close.
We're hardly a scam. Not all 60,749 users have this problem particular "problem", otherwise it certainly would be a problem and we'd address it.
Most users don't have any problems at all. I did donate, but only because this is my favorite gay torrent site and I appreciate all the work that went into it.
I can understand your viewpoint, but it's annoying to be called a scam site. We've been called that before and each time it was obvious the user didn't have a clue what he was doing wrong, even after it was explained to him. I'm not saying that about you, just giving a generalized example. One user was basically telling us to fuck off because he only wanted to download and never seed or upload, and got angry at the system messages about his ratio.

IIRC from the internal discussion we had, the free-leech script is purely time based and would need modification which the site owner wouldn't want to do it because he doesn't like to mess with the tracker back-end if it's avoidable.
Makes sense, more opportunity for bugs to start popping up, and maybe way too much work trying to fix them.
A few of us had similar ideas to yours.
Another issue was that some torrent clients make bad reports to the tracker.
