I was a regular user of the site for years until last year when I suddenly couldn't get access it. I got a similar message to the original poster on this thread no matter which browser I used on both my desktop and laptop. This went on for over 6 months and I gave up. Recently I tried again and managed to access this thread on my Android tablet, I went through all the suggested fixes, and now I can get in occasionally, but it's very hit and miss.

Perhaps this issue only affects a few users, but I wonder how many, like me, gave up on the site thinking it had closed down. Surely if the problem is with the security certificate, the site administrators could solved it

I can understand the reasons for a 48 hour delay, but it does seem excessive. I uploaded a 'themed' feature film yesterday and planned to make it freeleech. I didn't realise about the 48 hour change thing until I found this thread. The abillity for the uploader to make a file freeleech right away would be a welcome one. They are unlikely to go to the trouble of  uploading a video, spending their own bonus points on making it freeleech, then go offline. I'm guessing here, but I would imagine that it's mostly the uploader of a file that makes it freeleech anyway.

Freeleech is a welcome addition to the site. I occasionally look to see what's on offer and take a chance on a download that I normally wouldn't bother with. I hope the 48 hour rule doesn't reduce the number of these, uploaders could easily forget to go back and make their files freeleech

If the 'victims' were genuinely members of the public and not actors, I doubt the producers would find it funny if the girl or coffin guy ended up with a nail file through the eye!

I would have gone immediately for a ban  >:D given that the individual was deliberately trying to cheat the system and ultimately deceive downloaders. That said, I always marvel at how free of trouble and grief this site is compared to many others. This doesn't happen by accident, it's largely down to you guys who moderate it fairly.

Reports like this (whatever their accuracy) are important in raising awareness of all types of STDs to all people. Long gone are the days of money being spent on intensive educational campaigns in the 80s and 90s.

It appears things are back to normal 
Yesterday afternoon, after several hours, the red torrents turned to green one by one. They were ok this morning and again this afternoon.
