RE: Resolution Search
Is it possible to filter by resolution please?
I have a 4k monitor, and find that after downloading rather large files over number of weeks, that they are impossible to view due to the low resolution of the original file.
I've noted on previous threads that some Globals Moderators have the ability to remaster files to a higher resolution, but I have not as yet learnt this dark art.
There are a few technical points here worth noting:
1) I have found that a video file will look best at the original resolution in which it was created. For example, most standard-resolution DVD material from, say, 2000-2010, was recorded in 480i (640x480). It's possible to use software to increase the dimensions of the video file (such as to 1440x1080), but that's not going to improve the clarity of the image–it just stretches it out. You can't add information that wasn't there to begin with. And, depending on the software used to do this, it might even make the image look worse. We can't make a true high-definition video out of a lower-definition video. Some users on here will take a standard definition video and use software to "stretch" it, and claim that they have a "high definition 1080i video." That's deceptive...and just plain wrong.
2) I, too have a 4K monitor. If I want to watch a video that is smaller than (real) 4K, my computer graphics card and monitor will do a better job of stretching the image out over the screen than a graphics application that fiddles with the file. To put this another way, a non-4K file will look better on your monitor if you leave it as is, and let your computer blow it up to full-screen. (I use VLC player running on Windows.)
3) It's true that there's some good vintage material from the 19080's and 1990's that is low resolution and enjoyable to watch...but it can look wretched on a large screen monitor. Unfortunately, there's no way to fix this. I have some old favourites that I watch occasionally, and find the low video quality more tolerable if I just move back a bit from the screen.
4) If you do want to change the frame size (resolution) of a video, I've found that "Movavi Video Converter" works pretty well, and is easy to use. I got it a few years ago, and I think it was about $75 US. [This is not an advertisement, and I don't own any of their stock.] I use this to join files together, especially when they might have different frame sizes. It's also handy if you need to change the encoding btween .avi, .mp4, .mov, etc.
Happy viewing!

Gay and straight material mixed in one torrent
I've noticed several torrents recently where there's straight (male+female) material mixed in with gay (male+male) or solo male material. I'm not at all interested in "straight" material, and don't want to waste download traffic or disk space on it.
Uploading rule #3 says, "Porn with mainly sexual or fetish interaction involving women must be placed in the Straight older, Straight younger or Bisexual categories." If it's a single video of straight material, I can report it to a Kind Moderator, who will often change the category of it. If it's a collection of many videos (and uploaders seem to love those now), I don't know if I should report it or not. But it's really annoying to see "straight" material appearing on my computer when it wasn't advertised as such.
A recent and flagrant example of this is https://www.gaytorrent.ru/details.php?id=534a34e8fee57a963f627acd8bc2072f6699791a39604623 . There are 12 pictures posted, all of solo guys. The torrent has 52 files (50GB!), and I downloaded four of them. Three of the four were boy-on-girl fucking, and the fourth was a solo jackoff. Needless to say I'm not downloading else from this torrent. Nowhere on the torrent page was I warned that there was "straight" material, nor did the file names suggest this.
I think this is a problem. Any thoughts on how it should be addressed? If "mixed" file collections in a torrent are acceptable, could we at least require (or ask) uploaders to have a separate folder called "straight" so people who don't want that stuff can avoid it?
Thanks for reading. I feel better now

RE: Reloading files in larger or smaller collections
I think you and I have much the same perspective. Here are a few related thoughts:
If people are re-uploading material that is already seeding (same resolution, same file type, etc.), I think there should be a good reason for doing so, and the uploader should be clear about this. For example, there are lots of torrents from the BelAmi studio with different actors in them. If somebody has a favourite actor, perhaps it makes sense to upload a collection of films having just that actor. In this case, I think the uploader should say, "this material is already here [and possibly give links to it], and I've kept the original file names so you can avoid duplicates."
If, though, someone is just grabbing a few existing files and reuploading them, especially with few (if any) pictures and a crappy (or no) description, solely for the purpose of scoring upload traffic, it's abusive. I don't think the site's software can be tweaked to prevent this, so it would seem to be a loophole. These garbage torrents are often quite obviously garbage…and they've become more prevalent in recent months. It baffles me to see that quite a few members will download them.
On another note, the reference to potentially underage material is troubling: If someone is going to share files, I think he has an absolute responsibility to ensure that there isn't underage material in them. Not wanting to "bother checking 1000 files" is highly irresponsible. Possession of underage material is a serious crime in most countries, and sharing such material puts other members, and the site itself, at grave risk. If a member does share underage material, perhaps he should get one warning, but a repeat offender should be permanently banned.
And for yet another note, I sense that some members don't realise that they can select which files they want to download from a collection. I use uTorrent, and it's a simple matter of ticking/unticking the box next to the file name before the client begins the download. That way, I can often avoid downloading material I already have, or carefully select material that I want and avoid stuff I don't. This presumes, though, that the uploader is using good file names. Sites such as Tumblr or XTube often have random letters and numbers to identify the files. It would nice if an uploader put in a more descriptive title, but that's probably expecting too much.

RE: How did you lose your virginity?
It was when I was in the seminary (or is that semen-ary?), and with another student. He was a friend…not a hookup, but not romantic either. When I left that vocation, I was worried that I wouldn't find other nice young men to play with.
It turned out, though, there were quite a few out there ;D

RE: Canada state TV edits out Trump from HOME ALONE 2
One news programme said that many films have been shot at Trump-branded properties over the years, and one condition he places on the location agreement is that he have an quick on-screen cameo appearance. The programme went on to say that virtually all of the films edit out his scene before the final cut is produced.
I haven't seen "Home Alone 2," but the programme seemed to imply that Trump's cameo remained in the final version for cinema release, and that the broadcaster edited it out when the film was prepared for television. Editing a film for television is a complex art, as films usually need to be shortened, and pauses inserted for commercial breaks to satisfy contractual obligations. If the Trump cameo wasn't essential to the story, it would be candidate for the bin…as apparently it has been in many other films, even before his political career.
All that said, I don't know whether this was the result of political bias or not: I don't watch television, but I know that television and radio broadcasters are all over the political spectrum. Perhaps the broadcaster here was following the usual editing protocol, or perhaps they wished to avoid controversy.

RE: Being bisexual
personally i cant undrestand how people can like both
I don't understand how my mobile phone works.
I don't understand why some of the roses in my garden are white, and why some are red.
I don't understand how the universe is 14 billion years old still expanding. The fact that I don't understand these things doesn't mean they aren't real. And it doesn't mean that they aren't valuable, and good, parts of the world.

RE: Impossible to increase ratio
Another good way to improve ratio is to:
1) Find a new torrent with many files that hasn't been fully seeded yet (i.e., shows only one seeder, but many leechers). This will only happen when a torrent is very new.
2) Download the torrent, but only select some of the files (like the smallest ones) to download–which means marking the other files "don't download" in your torrent client.
3) Let this torrent seed for at least a few hours, preferably a few days. This way you will get the file(s) you have selected fairly quickly, and then be a resource for the other leechers who are trying to get all of the files. Your ratio on this torrent can easily get to 5:1 or even 10:1. And, this "trick" doesn't damage the system or harm other users.
The only disadvantage here is that this torrent will show up as "seeding" in your torrents listing as long as you don't have all of the files. Once you've reached a good ratio with it, or most other leechers have gone away, just delete the torrent, and keep the files if you wish.

RE: J'ai besoin de votre aide :(
Sur la page "Magazine Tetu 21 Issues", vous pouvez cliquer sur le bouton "Request Re-Seed", et il est possible qu'un autre membre ait les fichiers.

RE: Baiting Str8 Men on Social Media…
I think there's a difference between a "one-time bang" that involves two people sending pictures or videos to each other, and a longer-term exchange of texts and messages that has a semi-personal dimension. Trading images is superficial and harmless. Deceptively sharing feelings and emotions crosses a line.
That said, another consideration is how much time and effort one puts into this pastime. If it's consuming several hours per day, it's probably not good for someone.

RE: Do you use dating apps?
I used to use Craigslist a lot for hookups. It was very "successful" but I haven't found a good replacement for it.
I have Grindr, but more for curiosity: I work at a large university, and it's interesting to see who's online nearby–either staff or students. It confirmed my often-faulty gaydar in a few cases and has led to some friendships.

RE: Possibility that HIV is man-made
But on the issue of HIV, we know it's been killing people for almost a century now. That's too long ago for someone to have used recombinant DNA techniques to manufacture a virus.
Brother Allenson has this right. That HIV originated in primates in Africa is established scientific fact. Conspiracy theorists who claim otherwise need to go home and polish their tinfoil hats.
As to whether there was this nasty conspiracy to weaponize HIV against blacks and gay people…there is absolutely evidence of this, whereas the transmission vectors from monkey to African humans to Western humans are well-understood and are in line with, again, thoroughly established epidemiological data. There was no conspiracy here.
The problem with conspiracy theories like "HIV is man-made" or "HIV doesn't cause AIDS--or even illness" is that there's no factual evidence to support them, while a boatload of evidence supports the true account. People who invent off-base theories need to find data and conduct research to back up their theories, not just shout them over and over again.

RE: Have you ever used someone strictly for sex and then left after you're done with
Make your intentions clear, be respectful, protect yourself, and don't overthink it.
This is the key: Make sure both guys have the same understanding. I've had a lot of "one time recreations," but a few of them have gone wrong when the other guy thought it would be the start of something ongoing. I regret not having made things more understood.

RE: Administrators recycling torrents with zero chance of completion
Also, the administrators don't deserve a hissy fit. When they promote (recycle) a torrent, they can't judge whether people will continue seeding that torrent. The rules only guide the original uploader to keep seeding until three people have grabbed the file.
It would be polite for seeders (of any torrent, recycled or not) to keep seeding if they're the only one seeding and there are leechers waiting for the file. That's probably too much to ask most users.

RE: Are white briefs fashionable?
I'm not sure it matters whether they're fashionable. By the time another guy sees your briefs, you're probably about to take them off ;D

RE: Window 7 dies soon
Free upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 is (supposedly) available, according to some websites. I haven't tried it, but will in the next month or so. I have two machines that were delivered with Windows 7, and I'd stick with that, except some software will only work on Windows 10. I have another laptop with Windows 10 and I don't see much advantage to it.
I think Windows XP was the most user-friendly OS that Microsoft had, but they had to "improve" it. Remember Windows Vista?

RE: How do i see my wishlist & what's it used for?
Sorry I know that question is likely the dumbest people have read, but I'm a newbie here and I cannot find out how to view my own wishlist, I figure it's like a bookmark of my favourites? But there's nothing about it in the FAQ..
Thanks
The only dumb question is the one that isn't asked.
Different people probably use the wishlist function in different ways. You could use it to bookmark torrents that you want to download later…perhaps you can't download them right now because your ratio is too low.
I use it to mark the most recent torrents uploaded when I do a search. That way, when I log in the next time to search through the torrents, I'll know how far back I need to look: I can just scroll down the search results, and when I hit the torrents I "wishlisted" on my last search, I know I can stop looking.
To see your wishlist: On the Search page, tick the box below the search field that says "On wishlist only." Then click the big blue Search button, and your wishlist torrents will show up. You might also want to select "Including dead" next to the search box--if a torrent you marked has no seeders, and is considered dead, it won't show up if you search when "active" is selected (which the default search setting).
I hope this makes sense.

RE: What is upload credit used for when cashed in via my seed bonus?
Do I require credit to upload new torrent files, and is that what this is used for?
When you get enough points from user thank-yous, or from keeping your torrents seeded over time, you can exchange those points for an increase in your upload data volume (shown at the top center of the webpage). Clicking on the "Bonus" value in the upper right of your webpage will take you the exchanging web page. You'll see that the more points you exchange, the more data volume you get…and the "volume per points" price gets better with higher numbers of points.
For example, right now you have about 300 points. If you wait until that reaches 350, you can turn that in for 5 GB upload added to your totals. That would bring your ratio up to 1.5.
You'll continue to earn seed bonus points if you keep active the torrents you've uploaded--even if nobody is downloading them. You'll get a half a point per hour if you do this. With your current total of 300 points, you'll reach 350 points in about four days.
Happy seeding (and you can take that any way you want ;D )

RE: Newbie here just some basic technical advice needed
Is it supposed to be like that, or can I change it so that people can see my username so they can see I uploaded it in case they wanted to message me?
It's that way to protect you. If someone wants to message you, they can put a comment on the torrent page, and you'll be notified. You can either respond to them on the torrent page, or directly to their username by the private message feature in the upper right of the screen.
The torrent you linked to is a very welcome addition to the site–good pictures, good description, you followed the rules. It would be nice if everyone did. I'll put some seed bonus there as a welcome.

RE: Definition of Fascism
I remember a college professor of mine saying that you can't use logic in discussion with someone who doesn't use logic to form their own viewpoint.
If that's true (which I believe is the case), this thread has exhausted itself. It's time to move along, folks…there's nothing to see here.
