@frostycab Thanks very much. I use uTorrent, which probably has similar functionality if I fiddle with the settings. If you hear a loud explosion in the next few hours, you'll know I did something wrong.

RE: Freeleech request, please
@ianfontinell-0 Thanks very much for the explanation! I had assumed that IP addresses were unique to each subscriber, but I can see some logic to this "party line" approach.
Two questions:
- Sometimes I connect directly to the ISP at one of my homes, and at other times use (Proton) VPN. Is one way more or less likely to use a NAT?
- Is there a way to tell if I'm behind a NAT?
Again, thank you.

RE: Freeleech request, please
@Lumithin My pleasure...and yours, too, I suspect.

RE: Freeleech request, please
Follow-up: I see that the first, second, and last of the torrents listed by the OP have been freeleeched, and that there are now many seeders and many leechers--so the "freeleech to get more seeders and quicker download" approach does indeed work. I learn something new every day.
To further test the theory, I've used seed points to make the following two torrents freeleech, and I've also downloaded the torrent files to my client so I can see their progress:
https://www.gaytor.rent/details.php?id=cd73736afff33242ec6b30a5f5a924a9dd64f7b8ce61669d
https://www.gaytor.rent/details.php?id=e9c1a3348bf127b5ec6b30a5f5a924a91eac9e5064ba6a6e
They both appear to be downloading furiously, at about 2 MB/sec.

having a torrent become freeleech WILL make it more available....
My logic was that "more available" means "more seeders," and that the best way to get more seeders is to do a re-seed request.
You mentioned an interesting point with
peers cannot always contact one another for several reasons like NAT issues, and if there are only one or two seeders, the chances of your client being able to connect to them is reduced. you can both stay active for days and never connect to each other.
I don't fully understand this, although given that this is the case, more leechers (encouraged by a free-leech) would increase the likelihood that one could connect. I shall have to study "NAT issues" in my copious spare time

RE: Freeleech request, please
@Lumithin Having a torrent become freeleech won't make it more available to you for downloading. You'll need to have more seeders for them, and the best, if not only way to get that, is to use the re-seed button. If you've clicked that button and haven't harvested any new seeders, then all you can hope for is to download from the remaining seeder. I don't have any of those selections myself, or I would happily reseed them for you.
On a related note, be judicious in how many times you click "re-seed" for a given torrent. Doing so creates a PM for anyone who has downloaded the torrent file (but not necessary all of the torrent content), and I know that when I open my message page and see multiple requests for re-seeding the same torrent spaced a few minutes from each other can be a bit bothersome.
Also, I note that several of those torrents were originally uploaded five to seven years ago. It's likely that many who downloaded the material have either left the site of deleted the material, and thus would be able to re-seed the material.
But don't be discouraged; you might try some other torrent sites to see if they have this stuff. I do hope you find what you're looking for--some of these lads are indeed handsome, although I tend not to download fan-site material.

@ianfontinell-0 said in RE-SEED REQUEST (BUTTON) ABUSEā¦ FINALLY EXPLAINED! OUR GUIDELINES::
you get a system pm any time there is a new comment in any torrent you have previously commented on
Indeed so, as does the original uploader. But these are the only people who will be notified of a new comment. As this thread reminds us, it's much more productive to use the reseed button. I'm not sure how we educate users on this.
-
RE: RE-SEED REQUEST (BUTTON) ABUSEā¦ FINALLY EXPLAINED! OUR GUIDELINES:
@leeniedo The plethora of comments asking for re-seeding on that torrent is pointless, since they will only be flagged to the original uploader. Perhaps there's a way to educate users that the only people notified of comments on a torrent page are the uploader and anyone else who has previously commented (which in the case of the torrent you cite, is nobody). While it's possible that someone might randomly see those comments, I don't think people who have downloaded a torrent will revisit the torrent page.
Also, I note that nobody is shown as seeding that torrent. If I request a reseed, I always download the torrent and let it sit in my client in case someone, perhaps only briefly, chooses to reseed it.

RE: Experiences with completely straight guys
@cp2000 I hope what I write here isn't a "therapy session," as @ianfontinell-0 puts it...
Thank you for sending the links to the torrents. I downloaded some of the material, and it's pleasant to view. But to the greater point of "straight" guys having "gay" sex, and enjoying it, we need to make some distinctions. (Note, though, that the guy on the torrent page was never seen to engage in any gay sex, even if he showed his hole.)
Categories like "straight," "bi," or "gay" are difficult to define, but they're about who people are attracted to, who they form deepest relationships with, etc. It's something of the mind.
Actions like "gay sex, [and let's assume that it's two men] are just that--activities. They don't necessarily reflect someone's orientation. Many of the models/actors whose films appear on this site are in fact straight guys, some married with kids, but they can enjoy a good blowjob, fucking a tight, slippery hole, or having a prostate orgasm. They especially enjoy being paid for doing this stuff. It doesn't mean that they're gay.
You mention the possibility of generational differences: I think you're asking if "straight guys having sex with another man" is limited to "millennials." I don't know of any studies on this, but I think the answer is no. Rather, I think guys who want to experiment or play are more likely to do so within their own generation, as that's who they can best relate to, and they probably have most of their friends in their same generation.
Thanks for raising an interesting topic.

if anyone has had similar experiences or relates
Perhaps you could post a link to the torrent where this discussion started, and then we could pick it up from there. As @ianfontinell-0 points out, it's hard to jump into a discussion that's been started elsewhere.
I've posted--and commented on--torrents where the comments added by members become more suited to a forum thread than a torrent page. You might also consider adding a comment on the torrent page that says "to continue this discussion, see https://community.gaytorrent.ru/topic/67098/experiences-with-completely-straight-guys/1 (the link of this thread).
I'll add that I've had sexual encounters with straight guys, and I'd be happy to share the stories (some of which are quite funny) if I know the context of the discussion.

RE: Question about star ratings.
@Richiroma I think the star rating on the torrent list is the average of the votes to date, even if there aren't three of them. It's odd that the search page rating is done differently from what's on an individual torrent page, but it's likely a "feature" of the software that would be painful to change--and unnecessary.
I say "unnecessary" because I don't think the ratings are used consistently by members: Some people give five stars as a way of saying "thank you," and there's at least one troll who puts one star on torrents that he doesn't like...which seems disrespectful to the uploader. (When I see one of those, I do a five star rating so it averages to three.)
Rather than using rating stars to assess a torrent, we can look at how many people said "thank you" on the torrent page and/or how many bonus points were awarded. That said, we all have different tastes. For example, I'm not at all interested in seeing two completely shaven twinks fucking, but there's still an audience for that and it could get lots of applause from people who like that content.
Sorry for the long essay. Maybe I had too much coffee this morning...

RE: "No Other Land" wins Oscar for best documentary
@raphjd The aforementioned Dropbox link is having problems--I think because the file is so large (by their standards). Please try https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/8h7wgygr6r62ip6r4v1mc/No.Other.Land.2024.1080p.WEB-DL.H264.AAC-1.mp4?rlkey=ray30n3cburr4qn6wlco6qgiv&st=z59be0nd&dl=0 for a .mp4 version in 720p. Note that this one has hard-coded English subtitles, and is in .mp4 format...made so it can be digested by my less-than-smart TV.

RE: "No Other Land" wins Oscar for best documentary
GIven that there are two "likes" thus far, here are the links:
Full .mkv file with original audio (Arabic and Hebrew), selectable English or Portuguese subtitles:

"No Other Land" wins Oscar for best documentary
No Other Land was made by a Palestinian-Israeli collective of four activists in what they describe as an act of resistance on the path to justice during the IsraeliāPalestinian conflict. It was featured at many film festivals around the world, including several in Canada, but no distributor down in the US wanted to pick it up.
I have a good 1080i copy of it. It doesn't qualify as having a "gay theme" so I'm hesitant to upload it to this site, but I think it's worth watching. The file is about 2 GB and I can post a Dropbox link if people are interested.
It's a .mkv file with separate .srt files for English and Portuguese dialog.

RE: has staxus been banned from the site?
The aforementioned torrent that mysteriously appeared has now mysteriously disappeared. That could be from a DMCA request, site policy, or Act of God (a frequent legal catch-all). Site management doesn't comment publicly on these things (and the forum is public), so we won't know what's really going on. It's probably best to not address this further.
-
RE: has staxus been banned from the site?
By some internet miracle, a scene from that studio has just appeared on the site. If it disappears, we'll know it's a site policy or DMCA issue.
Stay tuned, watch this space, batteries not included, and kids, by all means, try this at home.

that is a taboo forum thing
Requests are not permitted in the forum. I suspect part of the reason is that the forum is not behind a password wall, and thus its visible to any internet user...including a copyright holder. The site seems to very effectively walk a razor-thin line between getting beat up by copyright holders while still offering a large quantity of diverse content.
A discrete alternative to a public request would be that if you see a forum post showing pictures from xyzxxxstudios.com (and that's a fake name), you could PM the poster and ask them if they have any other material from that studio, and could they post it.

I think you can edit your posts if you're quick, but after a short period of time they become uneditable.
I think there's some software "feature" at work--I find that I can't edit some posts from a few days ago, and yet can edit some that are several weeks old. There might be a subroutine that looks at the number of subsequent replies, or perhaps it's just a sinister software monster. I do think it's handy to edit a very recent post, as all of us can make typing mistakes, but older ones should indeed remain fixed, lest we start getting revisionist history in a thread.
(And if "uneditable" isn't a word, it should be.

RE: I've destroyed my ratio
I think the quickest way to dig yourself out of ratio jail is to make a financial contribution to the site (see https://www.gaytor.rent/donate.php for the details on this). You can do the math to see how much upload credit you need to get above the 0.8 penalty line. You also get the satisfaction of helping to keep this site operating: computers, software, and bandwidth aren't free.
When you do get download rights back, there are a few things that can help your ratio:
A good way to increase ratio is to download only a few files from a new, large torrent--maybe 10% or less of the content. Those will often download quickly, and then the tracker system will hook you up (!) with other users who are looking for that material. The results can be astounding: here's a snip from my uTorrent client showing five torrents that I've done this way:
Even if you have a ratio warning, grabbing 5% of a new fan site collection will pay off for you even if you don't want the content. For example, on that one at the bottom of the list I only selected 5% of the content, but uploaded nearly 66 times that content. The only drawback here is that a torrent from which you haven't downloaded all of the content will count against your number of available download slots...so depending on how many slots you have, this could be an issue.Keep your computer on all the time, with the torrent client running. I rarely turn my computer off, because on/off cycling puts a lot of wear on the machine.
And finally, try uploading some of your own material if it isn't already here. If you downloaded something from another site, or from here a few years ago and it's gone dead, uploading it will usually give you 2-3 times the file size in upload volume--sometimes much more. I think you can still upload new material even if your download rights are gone, but a moderator might want to weigh in on this if I'm wrong.
Good luck and best wishes!
