Outside of fragrances that I just don’t find appealing, and instances where too much is used, I’m fine with them–having my own personal favorite I use regularly.
Not really clear when I started the routine, but if I’m showered and shaved, planning on being out and about, I usually “mist” from a distance--three spritzes--from the front, left and right, towards the neck and upper chest region.
My earliest recollection of being partial to any particular fragrance--around 1973--I was an 8th grader in junior high. Memories of Musk Oil in a small black bottle, and my girlfriend--biracial White and Filipino, thick with a nice round ass and big titties, and a lot more “experienced” than I was. We broke up before the end of 9th grade. She “fucked around” on me a few times--literally, starting high school as a sophomore pregnant as fuck!
Having tried a few fragrances since then–the “musk” variety has always been the favorite. Years ago I found my cologne. Royall Muske will always take me back to that time, recalling a moment from just one of the countless fantastic experiences I’ve been fortunate enough to have shared with Bobby, and largely due to him.
We were a couple of days into our 1986 “fall vacation”–a week long road trip in our ’83 Nissan Sentra wagon (now Bobby’s everyday car)--a loop of over 3,000 miles driving up the coast through California, Oregon, and Washington, with three days at Expo ’86 in Vancouver, British Columbia being the main goal.
This particular moment in time from the first week of September--recalling a gift shop in The Empress Hotel in Victoria, British Columbia--buying that first bottle. Currently on my third or fourth--Royall Muske–my cologne ever since–the only one I use and plan on ever using.
Bobby is primary to much of the sentimentality and my fondness relating everything to that cherished memory. The irony--he can’t stand perfumes and colognes! Oh well…just another one of a ton of differences between us.
With the noted exceptions above regarding personal appeal and use in moderation, it’s also a big no-no when getting “physical”–I like the smell not the taste.
So, when it comes to applied fragrances–cologne, perfume, and the like--I use, and I don’t have a problem with others who do.
What about you?
