RE: What's the 'perfect' or 'normal' body?
"Perfection", and, especially, "normality" do not exist. Everything is a variation or deformation of something else, relative to the individual observer. Trying to quantify this shit with charts and graphs is pointless and absurd.

RE: Why is Communism not as hated as Nazism?
The standard answer you'll get from a Communist is that "true Communism" has never been realized, and that true Communism is completely contrary to National Socialism. All of this is technically correct. What they fail to acknowledge is that every attempt at a large-scale Communist utopia faltered and devolved into authoritarian State Capitalism. People who still support Communism (or NatSoc, for that matter) are either naive enough or simply arrogant/egomaniacal enough to think they'll be able to make it work "this time".
Any honest, unabashed Communist will tell you that a Communist revolution will necessarily require violence to wrench the means of production away from greedy private owners (the failings of Capitalism is a whole other can of worms I'm not going to open here). A lot of them will tell you so quite gleefully, in fact. Because the ends justify the means for these people. They make exceptions for their own authoritarian violence, just like Nazis. And therein lies the rub!
The major difference is that vanguard Communists have different motives from Nazis. Communists believe they will somehow achieve a collectivist, stateless, moneyless society after all the evil Capitalists standing in the way of progress are killed off or converted. Nazis worship the authoritarian state by choice (an all-powerful state by and for an exclusive Übermensch is the end goal, after all). People living with the failure of Communism (again, State Capitalism) worship the state by coercion. Under State Cap., everyone's equal. The state doesn't care about your race or gender, just so long as you can plow a field.
In an nutshell: The Communist ideal is more inclusive, which gives it broader appeal. National Socialism is overtly exclusive, which makes its appeal more limited. They're both crap.

RE: Is Conservatism Growing?
I don't think it's growing, no. The influence and power of Left and Right parties simply waxes and wanes. It seems like they switch positions approximately every 10-15 years, at least in the US. This makes perfect sense when you consider that 10 years is close to the 8 year, two-term limit for the office of POTUS, and how unlikely it is for more than two Dem/Rep candidates to be elected in succession for two complete terms each. At least within the last ~50 years or so. It also goes to show that a moderate fusion of Left and Right policies is what people in the US are really looking for. They always seem to overshoot the happy medium, though.

RE: Bush or no bush?
HAHAHA! Wow! What fresh humor. and so relevant, too. You could write for sitcoms!

RE: Machete wielding terrorist attacks Democrats on Kentucky campus
When will tRump start denouncing this radical Right-Wing Terrorism?
New flash: Islamic terrorist attacks are "radically right-wing" (being rooted in extreme fundamentalist, religious Conservatism) as anything this guy did (or didn't do) in the name of "defending Conservatives" or whatever the fuck he was on about. Point being, unless you do it for everyone, it makes 0 sense to distinguish between the two based solely on his "radical right-wing" affiliation over the individual motives and actions. And, when you go beyond the "Left/Right extremist" angle (we know it goes both ways) and examine individual motives/perpetrators, you discover something interesting: Non-Islamic attackers in this camp aren't nearly as commonplace. Logic dictates, then, that they don't warrant nearly as much focus. You're more likely to be murdered by an apolitical* white, secular/atheist megalomaniac (the school shooter type) than an explicitly Right-wing Conservative (or even a Stalinist wannabe-vanguard Leftist) who isn't a Muslim.
Also, it appears, based on what I quickly skimmed through, that he didn't even use the machete/knives on anyone. You better believe they would've made it clear in the headline if he had! All the article states is that he "struck" people, which probably means he physically pushed/shoved them. Or, at worst, punched them, which can hardly be compared to hacking at people with a machete. Talk about blowing an incident out of proportion. At least no one was literally beheaded. Wonder why? Because, generally, only Islamic terrorists and people on angel dust pull shit like that in public. Most others who directly attempt to kill unsuspecting citizens based on extremist religious/political motives are a lot more impersonal: They kill with guns (or stabbings, depending on the availability of firearms). Point being, this guy doesn't even fit the profile for a Western, non-Islamic political/religious terrorist. He fits the profile of a lone, unhinged idiot fruitcake. I think it's safe to assume that, if he didn't have a gun here in the US, he probably couldn't get one because he's a known loony and was denied purchase by a reputable dealer. If he had a gun and seriously intended to cause damage, you can bet he would've brought it along. TL;DR: This guy shouldn't really be compared to a "terrorist" at all. He should be compared to a bumbling idiot.
*Antisocial people like this don't believe in anything. Politics for them are mere window dressing. A way to validate their own selfish acts. For example, if you study the Columbine shooters, specifically the "basement tapes", the two of them implied revenge against "jocks" was the motivation for the attacks. Take into account that they weren't even picked on or ostracized at school, and that whole "motive" is revealed to be what it is: Utter bullshit. The idea of "revenge", or simply being "better" than their classmates was just something that enabled their own simple-minded egomania. It allowed them to justify their wanton violence, which had more to do with seeking infamy than achieving any twisted notion of "justice".

RE: Fox News Contributor Erick Erickson: LGBTs Should Expect To Be Punched
As if any man in a tutu would be hanging out in whatever bars an utter square like Erick Erickson would frequent. ::)

RE: What music is considered gay these days?
I actually don't give a shit about pop divas. I'm not even sure what technically qualifies a female pop singer as one.

RE: I don't like anal
The ass was not meant for penetration. For men or women. But to some people they like anal, I'm not one of them.
I can't imagine how you must feel about urethral sounding, then.
-
RE: I don't like anal
I enjoy anal, particularly receiving. But it's also a hassle to prep for it, which is not very conducive to passionate, spontaneous sex. I don't consider it essential for good/"legitimate" sex either way.

RE: Pastor Who Said Pulse Victims Got What They Deserved Gets Sentenced To 35 Years
Honestly, I can't even take pleasure in ripping into him (I never cared about the Pulse statements anyway. What else is new with fundies?). Just do a google image search of the guy. There are at least 2-3 pictures of him doing campy poses in wigs and shit. He's clearly a total closet case and a complete mess of a human being in general. Don't get me wrong, he belongs in prison for his crime, and I will not make apologies for the man, much less get caught up in the details of his sentencing. But knowing about it or making jokes about the fact that he's a child molestor doesn't give me any feelings of vindication or schadenfreude.
If anything, I just feel a sense of relief at knowing I'm not as pitifully messed up as he is.
PS: Wasn't that cannibal guy a schizophrenic? In his defense, he was totally out of his mind during that incident, assuming we're talking about the same story.

RE: Favorite CLASSIC horror-film?
Quite possibly, at least in terms of "mainstream" (meaning not abysmally obscure) cinema. The social/political subtext in Romero's films is definitely one of the things I like about them. That said, I also appreciate that it's relatively subtle and indirect. In other words, it doesn't come across as preachy or contrived.

RE: Any fans of animated movies?
CGI animation, once perfected, was really cool when it was still fresh (Toy Story), but, given the over-saturation of 100% CGI animation films we have today, it just seems trite and lazy.
I don't care for much Disney and similar stuff outside of films from my childhood (nostalgia is a helluva drug). I like animation in general, though. I probably watch more cartoons than I do live action stuff.

RE: Any Goth/Metal/Punk fans here?
Glad to hear that there is at least one other that likes music whether or not it is considered "gay-enough".
In all fairness, Rozz Williams (original [read: only] singer of Christian Death) was a total flamer. Coincidentally, Darby Crash of the Germs was a semi-closeted/self-loathing homosexual as well. That had nothing to do with why I posted either band. I don't get my identity politics mixed up in my musical tastes, I just really like them both. ;D
I guess the important thing to take from this is there is not any "gay" music. There is only plastic commercial garbage and genuine creativity. And gay folks have creativity in spades, though it might not seem like it these days. The Bravo TV image of homosexuality is a manufactured farce, not a universal representation of gay people/culture. Interestingly, it's only been in the last ~25 years that gays have become "accepted" and "mainstreamed" to the extent that they have. And with that, we've become increasingly commodified and pushed into a corner of stereotypes and cliches that are considered "marketable" and "non-threatening" to consumers. Exactly like what happened to goth, metal and punk, in fact!
Truth is, there are a lot of "gay minds" working in all fields of music/art. They were just a lot more visible before the mainstreamification of gay culture arrived in an explosion of TR-909 beats and M1 piano riffs (Full disclosure: I actually really like generic, early 90's house music… It's a nostalgia thing). You can't rely on mass media for an accurate depiction/representation of anything, only for the most general, sanitized version of it.

RE: Who's your favorite Rapper?
I listen to next to no Hip-Hop music, but if I had to pick a favorite rapper, I'd probably choose Big Moe. I like his "rap-singing" style or whatever he called it.

RE: Favorite CLASSIC horror-film?
Well, I dislike watching stuff at the computer and can't be fucked to burn torrented DVD's to watch from my DVD player. I also can't afford to order a ton of videos/DVD's, and I don't like going out in public in general. I basically have to rely on what I find on TV, in second hand shops, or what friends/relatives show me when it comes to discovering films of any genre.
Point is, I don't have a vast knowledge of film from any genre, so I'm not working from a huge library of choices when I say my favorite cult classic/non-"mall-cineplex-filler" (whatever that means) horror film is probably Night of the Living Dead. It's one of the earliest horror films I can remember watching as a kid. It was one of the few, perhaps only, horror films my parents owned instead of renting, and it made a strong impression on me back then.
As apathetic about or uninvolved with film fandom as I am, I even bought a NOTLD poster from Suncoast back when we still had one here… Too bad everything there was so expensive, especially on my unemployed teenager's salary.

RE: Margaret Sanger said black people are weeds that need to be exterminated.
Birth Control does not mean contraception indiscriminately practised. It means the release and cultivation of the better elements in our society, and the gradual suppression, elimination and eventual extinction, of defective stocks–those human weeds which threaten the blooming of the finest flowers of American civilization.
To be fair, that's still really bad, even without the concocted racism. It's the sort of statement I'd expect to hear from some Randroid speedfreak.
