      None of those people are currently in office because President Obama's administration ended on January 20, 2017; therefore, they have absolutely zero to do with this conversation. I didn't ask whether President Obama or anyone who worked in his administration did anything wrong; I clearly asked "Should #45 be impeached and removed from office?" If you want to discuss the previous administration then I suggest you create a thread about your personal grievances with people who are no longer in power and have no effect on our lives today. Do you have an answer for the question posed by this thread or are you here to disrupt the conversation without adding anything? The latter is against the rules by the way so be careful  :cool2:

      Okay, I call bullshit. You can't claim something as a damning offense, and then when someone rebuffs your attempt by putting it in context then cry foul. Your attempt is laughable. There has been ZERO PROOF of anything 1) impeachable or 2) improper! Just because you wish it to be true doesn't make it true!

      You didn't rebuff anything, you brought up an irrelevant topic that has nothing to do with this current administration. So once again,  :ot:

      @zs147:

      He hasn't committed an impeachable offence. You could argue obstruction of justice, with Comey's memo, but no one has yet seen the memo, so it may not even exist. And if it does exist, Comey would have committed a federal offence by not notifying that he had knowledge of a federal crime (Trump allegedly asking him to drop the Flynn case). There's also no evidence of the Trump-Russia collusion. It's always "anon sources". And more than all this, Trump is still really popular among GOP voters. Popular enough that if the GOP voted to impeach him, Trump would very easily make it so the GOP never get elected again. (Even if Trump can drain 10% of GOP voters to a 3rd party, GOP is largely over then).

      How do we know Comey wasn't in the middle of putting it all together when he was fired? What if he indeed was going to announce #45 obstructed justice but didn't have enough evidence yet? Was he blackmailed by the possible "tapes" that #45 claims to have? There are so many questions that have not been answered yet. By the way, the uncertainty is having a damning effect on the stock market  :blownose:

      @CrusaderRab:

      I have a general rule for life: Don't think about what you want to leave; think about where you want to go.

      Trump, as we all know, is a braggart, buffoon, and corrupt. But, he is a "known."

      If he goes down the road, the country will not suddenly go 'liberal;' we will just get the next guy down: Pence.

      I'm not claiming to know anything about the vice prez, but all i've heard is that he's more religious and supportive of religious things (read that auntie gay, aunti abortion…) than the Trumpster.

      If impeaching Trump meant a whole new election (Ha Ha) then it mite be interesting, but taking the top log off a pile of more, rotten logs doesn't mean you get a new house.

      Pence is very anti-gay and as you know the country has moved on from gays being the constant punching bag. If Pence becomes president he will be soundly met with deep resistance the moment he pushes for anti-gay legislation. Other than that, I'd gladly take him as president over this tub of corruption lard we have now. Pence would also get rid of Spicer, Bannon, Conway, Huckabee Sanders and all the other disgusting monsters in the White House. We'd finally be able to get back to discussing ideas and not arguing with irrational people who just want to trash everything in sight.

      I can't believe Agent Orange began all of this himself. It was a self-inflicted wound and it's now seriously infected. The memo(s) will hopefully put everything into perspective surrounding the firing of Comey and may prove Agent Orange obstructed justice. I will be front and center in front of the TV with my partner, my wine and my popcorn. Don't wanna jinx it but what the hell  :cheers:

      Both Counselor Kellyanne Conway and Press Secretary Sean Spicer have continuously and intentionally misled the American people on various important issues

      "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. PERIOD. If you like your plan, you can keep your plan. PERIOD."– BHO

      "But our current best assessment, based on the information that we have at present, is that, in fact, what this began as, it was spontaneous -- not a premeditated -- response to what had transpired in Cairo. In Cairo, as you know, a few hours earlier, there was a violent protest that was undertaken in reaction to this very offensive video that was disseminated."-- Susan Rice

      "Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage, and basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical for the thing to pass."-- Jonathan Gruber, architect of Obamacare.

      These are just 3 that readily popped into my head. These former 2 were instances where the President and his Ambassador DELIBERATELY LIED to the American people for their own political expediency. There was an ABSOLUTE INTENT to deceive for gain. The latter was just a freudian slip that just confirms the first lie!
      Anything I have seen by Spicer or Conway has been a mistake that was blown out of proportion, more has been made of them than Obama visiting all 57 states.

      @royalcrown89:

      I personally think he should and will most likely be impeached by the House sometime this year but that the Senate will not vote to remove him or that he will resign after more damning information is released. I believe this will happen because of political reasons; the Republicans cannot continue to support a sinking president without sinking themselves. Impeachment will send a signal that they are not fully inline with this administration and by not removing him will give them a shot at keeping his supporters calm.

      That's just my opinion on this very specific matter. What's yours?

      Those are my exact words on why I believe it WILL happen. While I stated I think he SHOULD be impeached, I didn't state my reason for why he SHOULD be impeached; I stated the reason why I believe he WILL be impeached and I clearly stated it would be a political reason on behalf of the Republicans. For me, I think he SHOULD be impeached for the amount of corruption going on in his administration. #45 himself, his family and nearly all of his cabinet members have been caught up in either plagiarism or illegal corporate influence before AND after they were sworn in at their respective agencies or took on certain titles. EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt used words written by corporate interests on official government letterheads prior to being the EPA Administrator and was still confirmed and has continued to let corporate interests frame policies for the EPA as Administrator. Both Counselor Kellyanne Conway and Press Secretary Sean Spicer have continuously and intentionally misled the American people on various important issues that have come up since #45 took office. We have absolutely no evidence that #45 has divested himself from his companies and isn't making money for his companies off of being president or that he isn't receiving money from foreign governments through his businesses. Why are we simply taking his word for it without seeing proof that he has divested himself and isn't using the office of the presidency to enrich his businesses? The list can go on and on and on. This president needs to be impeached and removed from office before something terrible happens and there is a loss of life in this country due to this high level of incompetence and corruption. I think he WILL be impeached, but not for any of the reasons why I think he SHOULD be impeached.

      To make a long post short, I believe we have a dangerously corrupt president and I have seen NO EVIDENCE that he isn't dangerously corrupt. I've only seen what his non-transparent administration has allowed us to see and it all looks damning.

      @raphjd:

      Every time she opens her mouth, she makes blacks look like fools, losers and clowns.

      First of all, no one makes me look like anything. Maxine Waters does NOT represent ALL black people. Why do you think one black person represents millions? She is a congresswoman, not some designated speaker for ALL black people in America. "Fools, losers and clowns?" Really? You have a lot of nerve saying something like that. You do not know every black person in America or the world; therefore, claiming one person is the representative of all people is IRRATIONAL.

      In light of recent events, including the president sharing classified information with Russians in the Oval Office and James Comey's damning memo, do you believe our president should be impeached and possibly removed from office? What is the reason for your belief?

      My exact words: "it's an attempt by some to celebrate something truly disgusting while ultimately overshadowing those who legitimately believe it is a symbol of Southern heritage."

      Yes, for many it is a symbol of Southern pride. I know that for a fact because there are members of my family who wear it proudly and I do not object to it in any shape or form whenever they wear it or fly it in their yards or place it on their bumpers. That is completely different than the state displaying any of the flags as something EVERYONE should have to pass on public property and pay respect to when the whole idea of the confederacy is against many of our beliefs. I respect people's right to wear it on their bodies and display it on their property, but it should not be something that the state wholly upholds and displays as if the state and everyone who lives in the state is promoting it. That's where I have to draw the line and that's where my state was forced to draw the line after what happened in Charleston in 2015.

      Margaret Thatcher definitely. Not a fan of everything she said and did but you cannot deny how effective and successful she was as a politician and leader. Have to agree with Frederick a bit though, I can't think of many others outside of Thatcher and maybe Ann Richards like some others have said. Not many effective women politicians and leaders. There are many reasons for this but it's true nonetheless.

      @Frederick:

      @alibix:

      Both. They aren't mutually exclusive.

      One could say the American Flag is also racist…
      Consider the treatment of the American Indians, and the Japanese during WW2 among other things.

      But the country as a whole has admitted those were wrong and we do not celebrate those things as a country the way the South seems to want to celebrate treason and the displacement and barbaric genocide of a set of people. With the American flag we celebrate the many, many freedoms we have (and continue to fight for) while also remembering some of the bad things the country has done. The confederate flag does neither of those, it's an attempt by some to celebrate something truly disgusting while ultimately overshadowing those who legitimately believe it is a symbol of Southern heritage.

      Obama went 11 months between questions from reporters at one point. 11 months! How is that not hiding, and that was even from his worshipers?
      From the Liberal HuffPo:

      James Rosen: Obama Treated Media Worse Than Trump
      http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2017/02/22/fox-correspondent-obama-worse-than-trump/

      Why do democrats always want to litigate the common understanding and meaning/usage of words when the facts go against them?
      They have learned well from the head of their crime-family, Slick-Willy, who said, "It depends upon what the meaning of the word 'is' is."

      So you're a fan of the media and love using examples from them when they were criticizing President Obama but you now hate the media and call them "fake" whenever they check #45? Which is it? Do you believe mainstream media or do you only cherry pick when you believe them and when you do not based on who they are criticizing?

      If it is true that President Obama went 11 months without taking questions from reporters then I'd need to know what was going on in the country at the time. I'm sure you know our country was left in ruins by Obama's predecessor; therefore, he may have been extremely busy fixing the mess he inherited. #45 didn't become president during the worst recession since the Great Depression. If the 11 months of taking no questions occurred during a time period where no serious crisis was being handled, then I'd agree it was wrong of him to avoid the media. Yes, he doesn't have the best record in appearing on the most cable news shows (the same shows that you deem fake news and mainstream/legacy media). Still, there is a profound difference in taking no questions and providing information. And I'm talking about factual information, not the misinformation and disinformation that our current president spews to the media on an almost daily basis.

      @amicusets:

      The issue "I" have, is that by titling it "Fake News" it could be seen as a jab at POTUS and others' claims of the MS/legacy media being "fake" in an attempt to deceive unwitting readers to believe it is in actuality "real."

      Are you arguing that Sean Spicer does indeed eat leaves? Because if that's what you are arguing, then you should maybe take a step back and reevaluate your sanity. THIS IS SATIRE; hence, why I label it as "Fake News." I even called it satire in this thread. This is what "Fake News" actually looks like, which is why I write the fake articles each Thursday to remind people what real fake news is. I find it so funny how you avoided the one where I made fun of Maxine Waters and her wig along with Nancy Pelosi last week.
