This is really good news for gays in the UK.

Under current law, work and private pensions {ISAs and the like} are exempt from handing out widower's benefits.

Even some state pension benefits are exempt from paying out to gay widowers under current law.

I too received a letter today from Davenport Lyons asking for £505.21. I was well gobsmacked it was for the film XXXXXXXXX some months ago. They wrote to BT my then ISP and got the tracking details fom them.

Last night I was so upset, it's a lot of money which I can little afford. 😞

      Edit:Users request.

yes well its a biggy deal
we've been hit by a culture of such de-regualtion in the free market
the ISPs are due too loose out on the main stay of massive  profits and many could go under - there are literally hundreds and hundreds of ISPs for such a tiny country.

I think the move will be about the whole globe taking a specific attitude to copyright infringement - it has been a golden era - but it wont be the end -the technology is just too diverse - whole new worlds will replace what we do today….

i rather wonder , why people get homophobic again , although many countries have established gay rights and people learnt to accept gays .
Can it be that gays have to be blamed too ?

The Secretary of State is expected to rule by the end of June whether the sponsors gathered enough signature to qualify the marriage amendment, similar to ones enacted in 26 other states.

The Sec of State certified the petition, so the amendment to ban gay marriage will be on the November ballot.

Of the 27 states that have had an amendment ballot to ban gay marriage, only Arizona was able to defeat the amendment.
