    • How can I meet guys?

      I have a tendency to be long-winded. So I'll start including a long version and a short version of my posts. LOL!

      Long version: I'm definitely an introvert and a homebody, so all of my romantic encounters have started online. For the last ten years or so, I've had my heart broken time and again and I've struggled to find a common thread. Finally, I started to think that maybe online dating isn't the best way to go about finding Mr. Right. I usually end up meeting guys who are a little more sex-minded than myself. Trying to find a legitimate date on Adam4Adam or Grindr is like trying to find funny in an Adam Sandler movie–damn near impossible! On top of that, I don't really do bars or clubs due to a genuine lack of interest and a touch of anxiety.

      So, I guess my question is: is there some secret gay hiding spot that I'm missing? Surely the only place to meet other gays can't be the bar or the apps. How do you meet men? How did you meet your significant other? Will I simply have to get over my dislike of bars?

      Short version: How do I meet guys, barring apps, bars, and clubs?

    • RE: Have you ever ended a relationship because your partner cheated on you?

      Surprisingly, no. In a couple of my more serious relationships, I only found out about the infidelity after we'd broken up.

    • RE: What game are you obsessed of?

      I just bought a boxset of Mortal Kombat games for my PS2. It includes Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, Mortal Kombat: Deception, and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. I've been wearing them out since I got them!

    • RE: Seeking dating advice…

      @JerodParker:

      Are you a couple in every which way but name only?  Or are both of you having sex with other guys on the side?

      I'm tempted to answer yes to the first question. We do everything a couple would do, just without the title. I have focused all my energy on him, so I'm not having sex with any other guys. I don't know if he still has sex with other guys and I didn't really feel like it was my place to ask. But if I had to guess, I'd guess he's not. But you never know.

    • Seeking dating advice…

      I'll try to give you as much pertinent information as I can without being too long-winded.

      I met this amazing guy online about a month ago and we've been seeing quite a bit of each other. Each of us indicated on our respective profiles that we were interested in a "friends with benefits" situation with the possibility of something serious. Right off the bat, we clicked. We make each other laugh, we like the same things (he even got me into baseball!), and we have some amazing sex. Needless to say, we're both really into each other.

      Now, about two weeks into the whole thing, I decided I'd ask him if we could be a couple. He said he needed time, and I respected that. He just got out of a pretty long marriage and he has a 4 year old son. I've been single since February, never married, and I have two nine year old girls myself. I can understand his hesitance. He wants to make sure all the stars have aligned before he commits to another person, and I definitely get that.

      Fast forward two weeks after I mentioned it and neither of us have brought it up again. He's cooked me dinner, we've watched movies together, I even spent the night at his place once. And the sex just keeps getting better. I really enjoy being around him and I can tell the feeling is mutual. On one hand, I don't want to rush him by mentioning it. On the other hand, I don't want to just let it turn into the elephant in the room or make it seem like I'm not interested in being with him anymore.

      What should I do?

    • RE: Sleeping with married men IS NOT OKAY.

      @kaeyresky:

      it may not be right, but it's not like sleeping with married people is exclusive to the gay community.

      I don't recall saying that it was. And it would be naive of one to think so.

    • RE: Do you only date a certain race or it doesn't matter to you?

      It's not racist or discriminatory to be attracted or unattracted to a certain race. I'm a Black man and I've had guys tell me:

      1. "Sorry, I'm just not attracted to Black guys."
      And that's okay. Because to be honest, I'm not attracted to Black guys either! They've made no judgment on my race/ethnicity or character as a whole. They're just not attracted to dark skin or African features. And that's 100% okay.

      2. "I'd never date a Black guy."
      This is usually because of some prejudicial preconceived notion about Black people in general. And that's NOT okay. Not being into Black men is one thing. Being flat out racist is quite another.

      That being said, my dating and sexual history is overwhelmingly White. Although just last night, I hooked up with a gorgeous Hispanic guy. I've been attracted to a few Black men and a few Asian men in my life (and various other races) and I certainly will again. But I'm most attracted to White men.

    • RE: Gayest artist of all time

      @hpony0319:

      It's up to you - I consider a "gayest" artist as someone who a part of a small group of the most prominent / iconic artists within gay culture.

      Ohhhh, I see. I was on some different tangent completely. steps down from soapbox
      I'd have to go a little obscure and say Sylvester or Grace Jones. And definitely Donna Summer.

      What exactly do you mean by "gayest"? There aren't varying degrees of "gay".

      13 times. I don't know if I'm proud or ashamed of that. LOL! It was actually really bad because I chafed myself up really bad and couldn't do it again for almost two weeks.

    • Should obtaining a marriage license include taking a test on your spouse?

      I heard a discussion in passing the other day in which a young lady said that there should be a law for people to obtain marriage licenses to prove they know enough about each other. In her opinion, it would cut down on impulsive marriages and help deter marriage "fraud".

      Discuss.

    • Excessive sweating?

      I know sweating is a natural process that has it's place in the human experience. But I find I sweat much, much more than the average person. I get sweat circles on my shirts from standing still! I break a sweat running to answer the phone. And so help me if I want to go to the gym. I'm drenched after just a few minutes!

      Does anyone else have this problem, or maybe any tips to curb it?

    • We've been pooping the wrong way for years.

      I saw a video online that suggests the way we go #2 is wrong. Apparently, the sitting pose we use pinches up the works and makes it harder for matter the pass. Solution? Using a step-stool to raise your knees so that you're in more of a squatting position. What do you think about this?

      As for myself, I think it's a sound theory. But if you ask me, that makes far too much work out of going poop. LOL!

    • RE: Men, it's time to shave your butt

      It boils down to a matter of preference. As for myself, I'd never dream of doing something like that. Not only do I like the hair on my butt, I like the hair on my partner's butt (ya know…when I have one).

    • How do you think your life would have been if you'd never come out?

      Think about it. If you'd never come out when you did, how do you think the rest of your life would have gone?

      As for myself, I came out when I was 15. Had I not come out, I likely would have spent the rest of my high school years with fake "girlfriends". I probably would have become much more reclusive than I am now, opting to stay home instead of pursuing any interests. I probably would have the occasional hookup, but nothing substantial, for fear of my family finding out. I definitely wouldn't be the musician and artist I am today.
