    • RE: Gay and Muslim

      Nope enough.

You are claiming to be an expert on Islam, Islamic exogesis, and Quran.  There are standards.

You have said that the Quran states that Allah forbids homosexuality.  Here is a site with various English translations of the Quran.  Tell all of us which verse(s) state some version of 'man shall not have sex with other man'.  Having read and taught the Quran I say that it's interpretation but you insist that it's explicit - put your money where your mouth is.

      https://quran.com/?local=en

You've stated that Muslims believe that the word of Allah as being put forth in the Quran is the authority.  Please identify the Islamic jurists who state this in each of the four main Sunni madhabs as well as the main Shia groups.  I think that they use Ahadith, analogy, and cultural norms as sources for religious laws and as the basis for the interpretation of those (very) few laws put forward in the Quran.

I'm neither a Liberal (the political party Justin Trudeau heads) nor a liberal.  I'm just tired of conservatives making up their own facts, lying their heads off, and not shutting up when it's pointed out that:  Coronavirus exists, the Protocols of the Elders of Zion was created by the Russian secret police, the Earth is more than 6,000 years old, vaccines don't cause Autism….

Looking at the three torrents, the pictures don't match the title.  You may want to try a reverse image search to identify the model.

    • RE: Downloading problem with tracker

Click on your own name on this site to see how many Torrents this site thinks you're downloading.
You may have a bunch of incomplete torrents that this site will consider active downloads; I currently have two.
If that's what's happening then click on the button for active downloads to know the names of the problem files - delete them from your Torrent server and you'll be good to go.

    • RE: Looking back on this forum.

Stay away from Gay & Muslim.

Other topics in Religion don't seem to be toxic.

Granted, I do not wish to debate religion.  I do interfaith work and enjoy conversations but the idea that the only way that you will speak with someone whose experience is different than yours is by trying to force them into your opinion is not pleasant.

One of the phrases I like from (English translations/interpretations of) the Quran is "Allah has made you separate peoples and nations so that you can learn from one another; not that you should despise one another."  I like hearing what the process of Lent means to a Christian and sharing what the process of the 49 days between Pesach (Leaving Egypt) and Shevuoth (Recieving the Torah) means to me.  If you're interested in civil conversation, let's talk.

    • RE: Most Underrated TV Shows

Well, I think of a few Canadian shows that I never hear anyone talk about.  All of them are fun and most of them have significant queer content.

Andromeda - Star Trek and the Renaissance.
Lost Girl - Bisexual urban fantasy
Letterkenny - rural comedy with lots of queer characters
Eureka - town of mad scientists
Godiva's - dramedy set in a high end restaurant
Wonderfalls - Bryan Fuller's first series.

    • RE: Buddhism and Being Gay?

Outside the tradition but I work in Religious Studies.

Buddhism is one of the universalist traditions.  In contrast to Ethnic religions like Judaism or Shinto where the practice requires being immersed in a specific culture; Buddhism adapts to the culture of the people who practice it.

Be aware that a Japanese form of Buddhist practice is going to be radically different from a Russian form.  If you're living in a Western country there's a good chance that there are organizations dedicated to developing Western Buddhism in your country.  You might try out Shamballa, Diamond Way, Triratna, Zen or Vipassana.

Other organizations may be focused on maintaining the traditional cultures that their expression of Buddhism developed in.  Outsiders are less likely to be welcome.  The study will require learning the language and manners of that particular ethnicity.

But be aware that Buddhism in general requires a community.  The Three Jewels or Three Refuges are:  Buddha, Dharma (Teachings), and Sangha (community).  The practice of Compassion is to help every sentient being to recieve enlightenmnt.

    • RE: Sex and Sacred

Judaism is very focused on proper social behaviour.

So, a symbol of our faith in the sense of something that would tell a person whether or not we are Jewish has no regulation banning it from the toilet or sex.  I would wear my kippa/yarmulka/that-thing-on-my-head pretty much anytime I'm awake.  I make an exception for walking down really windy streets where it could get blown off.  The same would apply to any symbol worn on a necklace or ring.

From what I've been told by Muslim women the similar rules apply to the hijab.  It wouldn't be worn in private or with your family.

WE have ritual garments, like the Sikhs, Mormons, Zoroastrians, and Hindus.  A Tallith (prayer shawl) and T'fillin require a special blessing to be said when they are first put on and only used for prayer.  They have to be removed when going to the washroom and as the conclusion of prayer.

Here's a picture of a young man of my ethnic background wearing the garments.

      @eden2999:

You will be surprised at how many influential people offered their support to protect the offenders.

      :cry2:
      No, I wouldn't.
      I seriously wouldn't.

Here in Canada, the government put the institution running the Spanish Inquisition in charge of "Re-Educating the Indian" with the guideline to kill the Indian within the Indian.
More than 100 years of rape and torture followed in "Residential Schools".  The surviving members of the families are even allowed to know where/whether the victims were buried.
Friday was the 15th Annual Day of Rememberance for Murdered and Missing Aboriginal Women.  People are still being disappeared.

That's just Canada.  The same is happening/has happened across the world.

    • RE: Is Circumcision safe?

With all the caveats for any type of minor surgery, yes.  It's very common with about 30% of the men in the world practicing it.

Check how many people should be uploading.  It's possible that there isn't any connected.  There have been times where I've waited for up to three days for someone to connect.

If that isn't the problem, try shutting off and restarting the torrent programme.

Yes, I had sex with many men once, some men a lot of times.  I had a POZ boyfriend for a while.

Since I had hepatitus at a very young age and have had medical problems since the mid-seventies I started using condoms BEFORE people found out about AIDS.  I'm not going to take the risk of infecting someone else.
