Re-reading this it looks like I left out the context.
It was a direct response to Maxellr's question about why his ratio was going down even though everything he was downloading was "Freeleech".
If someone clicks on something that's Freeleech but it doesn't finish downloading until after the Freeleech expires it counts against the ratio.

It's 11:30 on the 28th and one of the torrents I had clicked during the Freeleech has just started loading.

My BIG New Year resolutions I do during the High Holy Days, when there's an actual 10-11 days of spiritual work that I can use to change bad habits.

For the secular year I do simpler oaths.  For 2020 I plan to watch 24 movies in the theatre and read 52 books.

Has the Freeleech expired?

I went from 43 to 5.

There were a few on my wishlist that were not made freeleech.  And one of the weird things that happens on the Torrent server level is that a couple that say there are peers in the swarm never connect to them. :cry2:

But that still means I downloaded 52 torrents successfully.  And a number of the torrents were huge.  ;D

Since you mentioned fine arts you might be interested in the comic-yaoi section.

It would be nice to see a discussion about what it's like to be Gay and Muslim rather than people who aren't Muslim yelling at one another.

I'm Jewish and pretty religious.  I'm also strongly identified as Queer.  (It seems like being Gay involves a lot of working out, buying clothes and listening to banal movies.)  There are Jewish people who are pretty homophobic.  There are Jewish people who are very supportive of same-sex rights.  I think the majority don't give a rat's ass.

I do interfaith work with Progressive Muslims.  Some have to deal with a shitload of sexism and homophobia in the Muslim community.  Some have to deal with racism, hatred of immigrants, and hatred of Muslims.  Most have to deal with both.

Myself, being from North African (Tunisian) Jewish descent get the ironic situation that sometimes people yell things at me because they think I'm Jewish and sometimes yell things at me because they think I'm Muslim.  There's not a difference from my experience.

The root of it might help you understand how to use it.

There are a bunch of words in English related to 'spirit'/breath.  To inspire is to breathe in and have a spirit enter you. 
To expire is to breathe out and have the spirit leave you.  When a person expires they die.  When something hits its expiration date it's no longer good.  When a time of opportunity ends it's expired.
