I'm sorry to hear that. Unfortunately my Father passed away before I came out. I'd like to think we would have remained close. Did you guys have any shared interests before you came out? Personally I think everyone should be sterilized at birth, and the only way of reversing it is no pass a series of competency classes, mental evaluations, a financial back ground check and 5 years of parenting classes. Yeah but said tube sites are mostly controlled by conglomerates such as MindGeek, AEBN and so on, so really there isn't a simple way. It really comes down to money, no matter how you turn the picture. When models were at their earning zenith, so was the level of "talent", the hottest guys, the hottest scenes - all when the money flowed like water. Exclusivity is king and always has been. If your newest scene is available for free on a multitude of sites within hours of it's release, you are sunk.

Personally speaking I prefer condom scenes, but I don't mind a bareback scene every once in a while, however we all know how the bareback scene/studios have increased so much over these past few years and more often than not these scene are extremely boring to me. Now, even condom scenes can get boring, the point I'm trying to make is that porn lacks that passion, that feeling of watching two guys who are into it, everything seems bland to me. I would say your assessment of the situation is spot on. Mindgeek did utterly ruin Sean Cody, they have also pretty much scuttled the entire gay porn industry. They were among the first to start peppering tube sites which IMO has brought about the end of gay porn as we knew it. Now I realize that especially since we are having this discussion on a gay porn sharing site this argument seems a bit like the pot calling the kettle black, but it does not make this less true.

These sites relied very much on membership sales, the advent of "tube sites" began chipping away at the bottom line right from the rip. After all, why bother subscribing to a site when within hours of a scene being released you can see it on sites like "my Vidster"? Sure, usually within a few hours of it's being posted someone flags it for removal, but it will continue to pop up on hundreds of other feeds, a day, three days - whatever. The fact they have already "seeded" these sites with other scene clips makes it almost impossible to police. THAT caused a huge shift in their subscriber base. So to stem the losses, they increased their presence - collecting add dollars for full scene seeding.

The resulting loss of revenue meant slashing the amount models were making for these scenes. THAT created a real issue. A huge part of the allure for guys who were coming into it was the cash. Think about it - you are putting your naked visage on the internet where it will remain forever. Worse yet, with all these tube sites the likelyhood that virtually EVERYONE who knows you will eventually see your hungry asshole sliding up and down on some dude's cock (thanks tube sites) Hell, that career in porn just lost it's luster.

The world may be evolving, but I have yet to find a reputable company that would be open to the idea of an employee doing hardcore. Hell Kurt Wild couldn't hold a job at Quiznos because on of the customers recognized him - and THAT was before tube sites were really a thing. So, the result of slashing models pay - the quality of the model (appearance) has taken a total nose dive. All the sudden the level of "rough trade" guys in gay porn went through the roof.
