Are you ever going to accept that whatever law you think supports not just this but any argument is not universal? You keep doing this, finding one lawyer who weakly backs up your assertions, forgetting that the law they might refer to doesn't apply anywhere else. It cannot be applied globally. Quoting something from a law firm in Detroit does not mean that anyone in the UK, Egypt, China, India or anywhere else gives a damn about it because it doesn't matter to any of them. That firm could probably come out with truckloads of laws that don't even apply outside of Michigan, let alone the rest of the US, but you still 100% believe that you've won your case.

The issue of obscenity is the other problem. You haven't defined it. If you've tried in the past then it almost certainly didn't pass the same test I just brought up. I think you have a basic misunderstanding of the difference between "the law" and beliefs and values.

I have a question. Have you ever downloaded pirated films, music, books, software or anything else? Please don't try to be clever and lie because nobody will believe you. Do you not think your statement above should apply to those sources too? After all, you're not going try and argue that those things aren't covered by DMCA, are you?

I would like to finish by saying that in the case of this post I'm strangely proud of you. Unlike many of your more controversial posts you have at least returned to try to engage with responses rather than simply stride into the room and leave a steaming turd on the floor before walking out and watching from the window while everyone loudly complains about how much it stinks. So yeah, points for that.

@courbinjc-0 While we wait for the inevitable arrival of the usual "burnt vagina" (their own words) who will no doubt happily repeat their own tale of woe for the umpteenth time, it's worth remembering that sharing is something of a lottery, and if you're unlucky enough to get your uploads spotted by someone with an interest then this is one of the risks you take.

Just be grateful that a temp ban from here is probably the worst that will happen, unlike the old days of Napster and Bearshare where ISPs were dropping people when they got found out. I'm afraid all I can say is take it on the chin for now and decide if you still want to contribute in the future. I'm sure many members appreciate what you've done up to this point.

I'm pretty sure you said in the past that you've had content removed for DMCA, so this all sounds like bitterness. Just get the fuck over it and move on with your damn life.

What exactly are you hoping to achieve with all the posts on this topic? Do you expect the site owners to say "Oh, well Lollicopters said we're ok, so I guess we can ignore everything else." I've got a better idea. They should just respond to all DMCA takedown notices by providing your contact details and let you deal with it. Job done, and it might give the rest of us a bit of peace and quiet!

I don't know how you think this comment helps your case. You've always made a big thing of "gay" porn specifically not being able to be copyrighted to to being definitively "obscene." Now you're saying that even though a straight studio has brought cases against people those too have never made it to court. Interestingly, here is a quote form the law site you linked to, though in the interest of full disclosure for all the members like me who are NOT IN AMERICA AND NOT SUBJECT TO US LAW this article only consider the US legal system. I've highlighted the most relevant portions:

"Congress did not make clear if it intended to extend protection to every kind of work. Copyright law does not identify specific content that is ineligible for copyright protection. As a result, copyright law protects pornography because content-based restrictions on copyright eligibility could abridge the freedom of speech of the First Amendment. That said, obscene works do not receive First Amendment protection. In Miller v. California, 413 U.S. 15, 93 S.Ct. 2607, 37 L.Ed.2d 419 (1973), the United States Supreme Court found that the First Amendment’s freedom of speech does not apply to obscenity. Now consider that all of this only applies in the US, and every other country has it's own laws and definitions.

Honestly, do you ever actually take a minute to read anything you write before you press the submit button? The site isn't breaking the law because it complies with DMCA. If it was to ignore DMCA entirely then you might just get your wish and have the whole thing put to the test in a court of law somewhere, but thankfully the powers that be aren't dimwitted buffoons who are going put the whole site at risk to satisfy your need to feel validated.

Here's an idea, why don't you go and take this up with Joker and see if you can convince him. After all, you could be preaching to the choir on the forums but that isn't going to change anything. I'm sure he will welcome the opportunity to partake of your informed and inarguable wisdom. He's not an easy person to reach though. What you need to do is contact helpdesk with this code-phrase: "Please delete my account." and they'll put you in touch. It's not a trick, I swear!

To put the record straight, not once has he ever claimed to be a mod. If you think someone has to be a mod to tell you to stop waffling on constantly then you're wrong. Just saying.

I've been using BiglyBT (formerly Azureus and then Vuze) since forever. It performs well, and gives you a lot of control over things. I particularly like the ability to automatically label and move downloads when they're added or completed, as it just simplifies things for me. I don't know if other clients might have the same functionality, but I'm used to the interface now and have no plans to change.

@asianslut Like I said, I'm not having a go. Having the pic too just helps. If a pic is of a type or a scene that wouldn't interest you in the first place then it's unlikely that going to watch a vid will help. It's just a bit easier for everyone I think.
