Sadly, Spacey, seeding 1 or 1000 still gets you only 0.5 points an hour

But keeping your torrents seeding can earn you credit if anyone wants to grab some stuff from you.

I also see that you haven't given any of your downloads a 'Category' vote. It's only worth 2 points a download but it all adds up.

And of course the best ratio boost is to post your own torrent, just make sure it's not a duplicate

I suspect it has happened to most uploaders, it has to me.

There is no known pattern except the emails say the site has received a DCMA notice..

There is a list of 'banned content' but not of studios which might get taken down. There is no pattern to that either.

The removal of the torrent has no effect on your ratio or seed bonus of stuff already completed. I am not sure about a torrent that is taken down before completion

I struggled with the first episode and didn't finish that. I didn't bother to grab any more

my suggestion for the moment is to go easy on your downloading until you get a decent ratio. It doesn't take long especially if you can leave your torrents seeding

EK is absolutely right that you can turn off those two broad categories.

But you can also go through the "Browse default categories" section and turn ON by ticking the individual boxes of only those categories you want to see. And saving the changes.

Alternatively you can just ignore stuff you don't want to see. That works for me
