If only people who had downloaded the torrents would upload thumbs made from the download. Even the original seeder so often doesn't post extra pictures.

I often add one thumbnail picture to a torrent which only carries one cover picture. It will come from a file I already have on my hard disks. I'm not taking too much trouble. But I think it might help downloaders knowing what they might get. No, don't ask me why.

Every downloader could (COULD) add some pictures to most torrent pages but doesn't. And passes up the chance of a point or two.

I actually don't see many bad uploads of pictures. Some I report if they are really misleading.

I keep two databases

One simple one has the filename (usually the name of the movie) and its location (DVD#xxx or g:\studio, for example)

The other is a fully searchable relational database with name, cast, review, director and year so I can search on any word or combination of words to narrow down a search.

There is no easy way to move your files except to copy and sit and wait.

Be careful if you are moving complete DVDs - I've had some very odd results

Actually it doesn't matter where the torrent file is stored (I always download to my desktop for ease of deleting after I start).

You don't even need to delete the old torrent. The important thing is to download the newly uploaded torrent and start seeding with that and keep seeding.

With uTorrent there is yet another copy of the new torrent stored in the uTorrent folder which is the working copy.

I don't know with qBittorrent but suspect it will be similar.

When you upload a torrent it will show up dead until you start the seeding.

You have to download your own torrent (the one you just posted), open it as you would any other but when you are asked to save it you point your torrent program to the exact file you created the torrent from.

Your torrent client should check the file and start seeding if all is well.

To solve the decreasing ratio problem, you could pause any downloads until you solve the seeding.

You don't give much information but it could be that no-one needs the stuff you are seeding.

No, it works through your torrent program.

Just keep whatever you have downloaded seeding in that and somebody might pick up on it.

For instance, earlier this week I seeded 1GB to two people for torrents that I downloaded months ago. I'd forgotten they were even seeding.
