RE: Hi all question
Uwe has given the to-the-point answer
Some sites (this one) insist that you upload/share a certain 'ratio' of what you download or you pay 'penalties'. Most good sites will talk you through maintaining a decent ratio before taking away any privileges.
As Uwe said a good way to get a decent ratio is to download 'freeleech' torrents as you will get full credit for what you share.
Two other ways are just leave your torrent client open with the torrent you have downloaded after it is complete - any share after will be a credit to your ratio.. or the ultimate way is to post your own torrent
With that you get full credit for the upload but no download amount (because you didn't download anything)
And :welcome:

RE: Problem loading homepage and pages on this site.
So am I but I doubt that they are bothered. Or would have any effect.
I'm not sure the problem was at our end…

RE: Straight/Bi Section
I was just pointed to this thread by a friend from another site (the one that's seen all its members disappear because of a flood of mature pron, straight and gay )
I go to many sites where a lot of the categories don't interest me. Guess what, I don't look at them so I don't see what's in them.
But I have a solution for those who don't want to tick a couple of boxes on their profile. I've suggested it on other sites and it always works. Offer them their money back

RE: Centralized Freeleech Discussions
I confess this discussion has left me completely bewildered. I genuinely don't see why someone would use bonus points to make a torrent freeleech.
I know I'm missing something but not sure what …
One site I use (no ratio requirement) makes torrents freeleech but I haven't discovered the criteria.
Another (again no ratio) automatically makes torrents freeleech six month after initial posting and they stay freeleech. Staff make certain torrents freeleech (large files, special interest) and certain other members can make their own torrents freeleech.
On both sites it 'costs' nothing and once freeleech they stay freeleech.
I'm not trying to be contrary, I just don't understand the concept of 'buying' freeleech
