From my experience, the shows that get cancelled are some of their best content. Their lesser content that they keep is exactly that.... Lesser quality and value. It makes no sense to me why they keep doing this to their users.
Oh, don't take me wrong, because I agree with you. All I'm saying is that their interest is in overall viewing figures rather than what I personally might enjoy. If Show A gets 10 times the audience that Show B gets then B is the one that gets axed, regardless of whether or not it's regarded as a "better" show.
I think this discussion illustrates why "specialist" TV and streaming channels have come about. People can now sub to services that cater to their own tastes rather than hope for a gem to appear in the "we do everything" channels that are trying to balance a varied schedule/library against overall demand.
