People change. Every second and every day. And what holds now as a rule might change tomorrow. When you are with the same person for so long you might not care if they lost weight or not. Some people might be excited about being big guys at some point, getting bigger, then losing weight at another point, then becoming more muscled, etc. There's no right or wrong, it depends on the situation. It is not your obligation to advise people on how to live your life, but it's an ethical thing to make sure that say someone who is overweight and diabetic understands that there is a strong tie between his weight and the severity of his disease. Then again, that should be up to his doctor. It's a very tortuous subject but it's never wrong to ease into it with someone, and having vulnerabilities is always a nice thing to show.

Yeah, that's true… However, while people naturally change as they get older, at the same time, human beings are also creatures of habit. Sometimes it takes decades of life experience before people change, and sometimes not even then. I actually think  the percentage of people that change their views on certain subject matters are a lot smaller than people think.

You're first big mistake is renaming folders. You should NEVER rename anything, especially if you expect that you'll be reseeding. You're client will be looking for files with the the exact original name. You never change folders structures either. This is why a HASH is created in the first place. The other thing is, you shouldn't rename simply because if you want to upload something, checking for dups can now be tricky as you may not remember the original name.

You'd have no other choice but to re-upload the file from scratch. Not all clients reveal original names & folders it's looking for.

Doesn't that get messy?  How do you organize if you have hundreds (if not thousands) of torrents that are badly named, misorganized, and all dumped into your downloads folder?

It's not about being "messy." You have to try and grasp how torrents work. When a torrent is being created for the first time it creates something called a hash. A hash is a 16 character string of mixed numeric and alpha data. If you look in any one of your torrents you will see something like this:

When you click on "create torrent file," your client checks for file sizes, names of files, file structures, and any other identifying information. The algorithm spits out that hash. You can also think of it as an torrent ID. So, if you change the name of the file, or file structure; think of it as you actually changing the hash ID. Therefore, when you client checks the files, it will see that their are things that don't match. Either the client will not download/upload the files at all, or it will only download/upload files that are seen as a match.

At that point, depending on how many files you've altered, you'll have to rename every single directory and file until it is correct. You've just made unnecessarily tedious work for yourself. Everything I tell you has a technical reason behind it. I wouldn't just tell you things for "shits and giggles." Both groups, in general, are at fault.   I see lots of people with fast internet doing insane amounts of seeding, while others are struggling to get a look in due to their slower BB.   At the same time, people with crap BB should take advantage of Freeleech.

Awh, yeah, I forgot about those people with horrible bandwidth. It's still a worry of mine, because it can easily spread and become a growing issue. I'm only sharing my input because I'm reading quite a few people discussing this. Even with free leech, you still have to seed in order to get points. Their bandwidth will get even worse seeding free leech files. I don't know, perhaps a good idea would be to create some sort of raffle contest, only for those with poor ratios? But they can't be newbies though. It's hard to trust in a newcomer. But, points should be given from the heart. Once it starts getting to the point where people give, just to get someone to shut up about it, that's the day we're gonna have some serious. Not sure how to handle it really. I just don't recall this discussion existing on the other 3 major gay trackers.

It has to be a personal decision. I don't think this is something you can ask on the internet, as all our personal experiences vary widely. You'll just have to sit down and take some time to evaluate your circumstances, and figure out what are the possible outcomes of coming out, and would it be worth it. For most gay men, we have to wait until we achieved a certain level of success, and or professional siniority before we can come out. Bottom line, You have to decide.

At least in terms of gay sites (there are only 4 major ones (including this one)), it appears that this "Seeding Points Business" is something that is exclusive to gaytorrent.ru. The site is incredibly easy to make a good ratio, there is absolutely no need to beg for points. Can someone logically explain to me why anyone should be begging for seed points like a street corner wino. And don't give me some shit story that you don't know how. Some of you have been here for years, or used torrents for years, there is absolutely no excuse for you. And if you are indeed "new" to torrents, you owe it to yourself to start reading. I have little tolerance for that. And I DEFINITELY don't like the idea of being disturbed outright asking for points. That to me is much, much worse than spam. To anyone who practices this unnecessary behavior, I will put you on my block list.

When I upload "vintage" material that's low resolution and/or fuzzy and/or a clunkly film transfer, I include some screenshots (from VLC player) and tell people to look at them to judge whether they want the material.  Some folks expect everything to be in HD.  I rather like the look of older films…it reminds me of when I first saw them years ago.

Yeah, I've come across a lot of those people. It's amazing how some people just don't have enough common sense to know that not everything will be restored. Far too many are only interested in downloading, and not really learning about the technology their using. Which is a shame..

Ok, the reason why I asked if you're offended by low bitrates, specifically on vintage porn or circa 1980s, is because I'm reorganizing my vids and found that I still have a lot of my OOOOOOOLLLLLLLLDDDDDD porn. Now, old 1970s-1990s I mentally don't put them in the same category (in terms of bitrate quality) as something of 2010 and younger. Would you guys have a problem if I share some of them? Let's say, you have a current ratio of 0.65 and 31 days to increase your ratio in case it falls below your current ratio.
What happens if you can't increase your ratio within those 31 days (for whatever reasons)?
Do you get banned for good because you couldn't increase your ratio in time, or do you start all over again from zero?

I wouldn't worry about getting banned. This site is one of the few most laidback trackers I've ever had the pleasure of being on. BUT, that's not to say that your ratio isn't serious business. Honestly, I don't understand why this is such a mystery to members. Getting good ratios here are easy. Just upload something. You can't download a bunch of shit, more than you up load. Second thing is, when you seed for long periods of time, you get points and you can use them to exchange for upload credit.
