@Frederick:
In the 2016 primaries and election.. there were people afraid to vote because they were things like illegal aliens, etc. They had no legal right to vote, but they could easily do it due to corrupt policies of local governments, especially in California. Obama even made a video assuring illegal aliens that they could safely cast their illegal votes and get away with it.

Well, now many voters are withdrawing their voter registrations to avoid being tracked down. It will be interesting to see how this affects voting in the future. Imagine that.. commit a crime by casting a fraudulent vote and get in trouble for it? HORRORS (if you are a democrat moonbat).

Here we go with the fact checking again. Obama never said that illegals could vote, nor did he encourage them to do so. He said, "when you vote, you are a citizen, and voting rolls are confidential and not shared with INS. Therefore, if you have undocumented FAMILY, you don't have to worry about them being deported." Fox news edited out everything after the first first sentence to score some political points..
As for your second point about de-registering . from the headline of the article you cite:
Hundreds of voters un-register after Trump voter fraud panel demands info
Hundreds. Probably not scared that they registered illegally, but that Trump will send Grandma back to Mexico.
Remember all people born in the US are citizens and are eligible to vote, even if their parents are here illegally. But I bet that they re not happy that their names and addresses are being shared with the Feds, especially if they live with their parents.
