    • RE: LEADER BOARDS: USER ANALYTICAL STATS on the POLITICS FORUM

      @mhorndisk:

      Yea so what if I say Obama is a Satanist? That isn't uncivil… It's his religion. He obviously wants America to fall and he's plotting with globalists to take the country down to be ruled by a global cabal of child molesting devil-worshippers. And so what if you guys agree that Mika's dad was the creator of the Trilateral Commission and so I say they can suck ma dick? That's how I feel. And if you don't realize that people in power have been trying to take control of the planet for a long time than you aren't paying attention.

      I don't agree because you have no evidence that Obama is not a Christian

      I have reported it as well.  But apparently, the moderator approves of such a public airing of private grievances and has fully participated in the thread instead of shutting it down and warning the original poster.

    • RE: Politics Versus Reputation Power

      I did a little research on how Reputation Power is calculated.  You are awarded points for new topics and replies, as well as Upvotes, downvotes and hearts.  But the points awarded by voting is multiplied by the voter's reputation power.  Since the "Team Liberal" has little to no reputation power, the only thing harmed by the downvoting is the user's ego.

      Here is what Popper said back in 2014:
      " Regarding the "heart" voting up/down by members influenced by the voter's power, it seems the number of reputation points gets increased/reduced by the voters reputation power (e.g. if I vote with a current power of 160, I'll add 160 points to the member who's post I voted to like, at least his power increases by 3)."

      @raphjd:

      It's related in that liberals tried using downvoting as a weapon.    This is extremely clear when they don't even read what is posted, but downvote strictly due to who posted it.

      When conservatives started doing the same with reputation, liberals got butt hurt.

      You are lumping a group of users together and assigning the behavior of one to the entire group.  You are fond of that, not only with the users here, but with politics as well.  Don Lemon and Symone Sanders say something you don't like, and all of CNN is liberal-biased crap. A handful of far-left extremists commit atrocities and now all liberals are "bike-lock liberals." Life is easy when you assign everyone into category boxes, because then you don't have to listen or think.

      If you sincerely think that some users on this board have used downvoting as a weapon, then that is something that you should have put your police hat on  :police: and dealt with.  There is no reason to be discussing this publicly.  It has only served to distract from discussing politics.

    • Politics Versus Reputation Power

      Did I miss something?  Did this board suddenly change into one focused on discussing reputation power, up-voting and down-voting.  Who Cares? I guess we know who.  I don't.  Let's talk politics.
      If you don't want to discuss politics and debate world issues, go to another board to show off your big green bars.

      It aint all about you, dearie.

      I was referring to Sutie's false claim that I doxed him using my admin status.

      We had a similar discussion about this in a previous thread.  I was accused of using my mod status to out liberals for en masse downvoting their enemies.  I explained it then, yet here we are again.

      Sorry.  But not quoting sutieday in your post led to the confusion.

      @raphjd:

      I was falsely accused, yet again, by a liberal.

      You didn't participate in this thread?  You didn't call another user obnoxious.?  I don't understand why you call my post a false accusation. Are implying that I falsely accused you of criticizing stutieday when you clearly did?
      If i think the premise of the entire thread is wrong and should be closed down and you disagree, that does not equate with a false accusation.

      The aggressors here are now trying to portray themselves as victims. SAD.

    • RE: Liberal Violence: Liberals smash beer bottle over conservative man's face in NYC

      @raphjd:

      As we saw in a previous thread about hate crimes, it's a massive case of over reporting.

      If a 1 eyed, 3 nippled, trans, lesbian, muslim, woman is mugged (no hate based intent, just robbery) it's still recorded as 6 separate hate crimes.

      Hate crimes are always listed against the right, even when it's 4 blacks against a mentally challenged white male.

      Thanks.  I have been making this argument about the OP.  The man was attacked because he pushed the other guy's girlfriend, not because he was wearing a MAGA hat.

      Try a full log out and  log back in.

      If it's still broken, make a thread in the forum support section so I can show it to Joker.

      It seems to be working now.  It may have to due with the log in timeout. Interestingly, if iI have been logged in for a while, when I create a forum post,  am never prompted to log back in, However if I immediately after try to access a torrent, I have to log back in again.
      I will try to reproduce this and let you know,

      I realize that this protest was organized by the left and turned into a riot. I realize that both sides :engaged." And while this event certainly promoted the concept of liberal violence, this particular encounter shows "conservatives" not only engaging in violence, but engaging in two of the most despicable and cowardly acts in "fist-fighting."–-punching a woman, and kicking someone when they are down.

      You whine about "team Liberal ganging up on mhorndisk, yet here you all get together to attack sutieday and call it the moral high ground.  I cannot believe that raphjd has not only allowed this post to continue without censure, but actually participated in it.

      As has been pointed out ad infinitum, the mhorndisk Vegan post was criticized  for its place here.  There were no ad hominem attacks.  If  sutieday had started a thread promoting jogging as the path to nirvana, he would have gotten the same reaction.
      Finally if you thing downvoting is a "culture" and "real" the you should have designed the topic around that instead of calling two of the users on this boards trolls.

    • RE: McCain: GOP health care bill 'probably' will die

      The problem is, at least on this issue, congressional Republicans were only monolithic in their opposition to Obamacare.  They simply cannot agree on a replacement and I think Democrats are standing in the sidelines licking their chops with dreams of 2018 in their heads.  They were excluded from any deliberation during the drafting of the bill, so they are certainly not going to bail them out now.

      You're right.  The guy in the yellow jacket is singing " You put your right foot in, You put your right foot out.  You put your right foot in and you shake it all about."  :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2:

      Now take a look at the full video here:

      Youtube Video

      Not only will you see Mr. Yellow Jacket go out of his way to kick the guy that is down. Also, I looked at the video frame by frame.  Mouldylocks was not the aggressor in this encounter ( I am not saying she is a saint), The white guy already had his right arm up and ready to punch before she raised hers in defense.  Beware of internet memes.

      Did it ever occur to you that there is no "Team Liberal" and that you are being petty.  Apparently everyone here except you knows that civility is about the language we use to treat each other, using words with respect and avoiding insults that have nothing to do with the matter being discussed.  I would argue that a downvote probably the polite and civil form of disagreement.  Stop playing the victim.

      I can't see how calling someone a troll gives you the moral high ground. Do you have secret moderator status?

      Until today, I did not realize you could view a user's recent posts in one place, nor did I know that you can see who gave what votes on anyone's profile.  That's why sutieday thought he was being doxxed. But if you click on the little thumb in a user's profile you will see all those details.  I find it telling that both you and Frederick are so quick to ascribe malicious intent to genuine mistakes.

      @strangeloop:

      That's not the case.  It has become a talking about since the beginning of the presidential election cycle, when mass violence against Trump supporters were well documented with video footage.  It isn't something new based on the shooting at the conservative senators.

      Of course, there were no incidents of Trump supporters harassing reporters–prompting the Secret Service to escort one female reported to her car following a rally.  Oh yeah, Trump never said "Punch him in the face!" and in the old days hecklers would be carried out on a stretcher.  He even offered to pay the legal fees of someone who beat up a heckler.
      At one rally, he actually suggested that supporters of the second amendment  "do something" about Hilary Clinton if she were elected.
      And before you mention it, I'll admit that in Chicago they planned to have paid troublemakers stir up the .crowd, but that was one instance.
      Irregardless of your personal feelings about Trump, his supporters were certainly not leftists.  Your hypocrisy is numbing.

      I don't think mhorndisk posts for SB points he has over 650,000.

      Regardless an upvote means 'I agree", a downvote the opposite.  It is not an attack on character.  Raphjd has called out sutieday on multiple occasions  for his persistent downvoting, but I have always seen that he makes those comments in his personal capacity, not as  :police: :police:
