Yes, a lot of the posts on here need to be moved to rants & raves. Topics like, "NWO can suck my dick" and "Obama a Satanic Whore" need to be moved to rants & raves immediately. There is no way we can have meaningful debate with a topics that have such toxic titles. How can we expect others on this site to want to participate in the Politics & Debate forum when it's filled with spam about nonsense? It would be okay if it was just one time but mhorndisk is posting like ten topics based on the same thing in the same day, and then he's constantly replying to himself to drown out other topics. It's becoming too much and something definitely needs to be done. Should we appeal to someone higher up?? I still want to participate here but how can we with this level of toxicity?

Out of respect for raphjd, who I think is a reasonable man and has been doing this for over ten years, I would give him a chance to take action.  Failing that, I think we should appeal to someone higher up, especially if several of us do it so it does not seem the complaint of a single disgruntled user.  As far as I know, the site owner is Joker and there is no higher authority.  A post in one of the general forums should get his attention, should that become necessary.

You are a fool.  When things don't go your way, you stomp your feet and pout.  Making threats and ultimatums to the moderator is a good way to find yourself looking on xtube for 15 second porn clips instead of the content that is here.

What gives you this sense of entitlement, that only your views are valid? Even if you owned the site, your attitude is not conducive to discussion.  You make it clear that you intend to bully anyone who disagrees with you off of this board.  And no one is threatening the moderator, but we are frustrated with the likes of you and are considering our options.

Raphjd lives in England, which is 5 hours ahead of Eastern time.  He usually does log on around this time.  Be patient.

It is not only a matter of enforcing rules.  It is about leadership.  Often that means leadership by example.  I don't mean to imply that raphjd's posts are inflammatory.  He clearly has a problem with liberals, but he usually presents his views in a reasonable manner.  I mean he should interject with remarks like "stick to the facts" or "attacking your opponent does nothing to advance the discussion," etc.  These do not have to be remarks made as an moderator.  Of course, blatant violation of the rules need to be called out and offensive threads locked or deleted..

And some are trying not only to own the thread, but own the entire board as well. They are doing this not only by the number of posts and self-replies, but by affecting the tone of the entire board with each of their "contributions." They seem to have bullied most users away.  Reasonable people don't have time for this shit.

The description of this Board on the Forum Home Page is " Discuss politics and debate world issues."  Take a look at the past week.  Has this happened?
The board has been dominated by mostly one user, and perhaps two.  many times the thread is simply multiple replies by the original poster, usually in the first hour and often in the first fifteen minutes. Presentation of facts by non-partisan third parties are dismissed out of hand and followed by personal attacks.  There have been intimations of civil war.
Is this what most users want?  Is this what the site owners want?  Already the Recent Forum Topics had to be removed from the home page because even the thread topics offended users.  And they did not try to engage in discussion.
I did try.  But it has become painfully clear that the users that dominate this board are not interested in discussion, they are just interested in narcissistic platform for proclaiming their beliefs.  I am frustrated because you, Raphjd, have done nothing to promote discussion.  I am not talking about enforcing rules, per se.  You are an active member of the board and enjoy the respect of all users.  You should be intervening in threads to keep discussions on target and lower the temperature of the arguments. I noticed a moderator post to "Tone it down" in one post, but little else.

Take a look at the last week.  Is this what you want here?  Most users have abandoned the board out of frustration.  Sadly, uless things change, I will be adding myself to that list.

You know I like to be the fact checker on this board.  I reviewed the posts from June.  Drwas basically spammed the board with multiple posts, most of which had no replies at all.  There were about 5 in which he replied to his own post, but he waited anywhere from 30-60 minutes before posting a reply.  In all cases, he was the only reply on the thread and it died there. If anything, he was  guilty of posting subjects no one was interested in discussing.

He posted 4 replies in the first ten minutes after the OP.  It was just a rant, he certainly was not inviting discussion,
It has nothing to do with the content.  It has to do with style.
I thought this board was meant to facilitate the free exchange of ideas, not simply be a platform to declare your beliefs.

Should a rule be added regarding spamming threads/posts? I'm seen one user post multiple times in a row on the same thread when he could have modified the original post.

If possible, perhaps the forum system can be changed so that posts are merged if they are both by the same user and posted one after another.

I think it is too much for the moderator to be editing multiple posts by the same user before others can reply, but there should be some guidelines put into place and enforced. Like giving them a time-out if they repeatedly violate the guidelines after several warnings.  Even one reply might be permissible for clarification but 3, 3 and 5 in a row is just ridiculous.

Can't resist one last comment.  You are happy talking to yourself and believing others are reading it.  You will be happy talking to Frederick.  No one else is listening.  You have chased them all, including other conservatives away with your vile, baseless rants.  And the saddest thing of all is that Raphjd has allowed it to happen.  Just take a look at the posts from the past weekend.  You may have won in dominating the board, but now you can only chat amongst yourselves.

Where is Frederick's proof that other FBI agents did not trust Comey? The Deputy Director praised him to high heaven and stated that was the general feeling in the Agency.  Trump had to cancel a visit to the FBI headquarters after he fired Comey because the WH feared he would not be well received.

There is no way to argue with someone who will not accept facts.  Google it yourself, and see how many citations you can find that actually talk about how the money was spent, rather than believing a bunch of disgruntled Haitians who felt all that aid made them dependent on other nations.  The only reason anyone paid attention to it was that it was negative publicity for Hillary.  And why are you so obsessed with her?  Her political career is over, even if she starts a Super PAC, she will never have a significant affect on national politics again.  Move on!
