    • RE: Why did Debbie Wasserman Schultz STEP DOWN Part 2?

      @mhorndisk:

      It's a simple question. Did she step down because the DNC was hacked, because Seth Rich leaked the info, or because the CONTENT of the emails PROVED they were tricksters acting fraudulently? This is something liberals HATE, because they know the REAL answer. She didn't step down because she was hacked. She didn't step down because Seth leaked the emails to WikiLeaks. She stepped down because the CONTENT of the leaks PROVED she was a liar and a fraud. Plain and simple. But I'd like to see if you disagree. I'm tired of people using Russia as a deflection from the content of the emails, which proved they are fraudsters.

      I haven't heard anyone deny that what happened to Wasserman-Shultz was her own fault. But teh fact is that the Russians hacked into the DNC with malicious intent, and then planted false emails among the real ones to further interfere with the elction.  In fact, one of these emails was said to have influenced Comey going public with his announcements on Hillary, which certainly did affect the election.  The FBI knew the email was a fake, but they were afraid it would leak and make the Justice Department look bad.
      The Russians also planted false stories in social media
      Putin is not a Republican, Democrat, liberal or conservative–he is an opportunist.  Who knows who he will go after next.  If they had hacked the Trump campaign to elect Hillary, you would be calling for an all-out invasion.

    • RE: Crooked Hillary: 13 BILLION for Haiti, only 1% actually went to Haiti.

      "While the Clintons in their respective roles clearly had a say over where some of the quake relief cash flowed, their political enemies have wrongly claimed the family foundation directly controlled all the billions in funds.

      The foundation itself raised a relatively modest $30m for aid projects in Haiti.

      A spokeswoman for the charity told the BBC: "Every penny of the more than $30m raised was deployed on the ground, with no overhead taken by the Clinton Foundation.""

      http://www.bbc.com/news/election-us-2016-37826098

      While 0.6% of the Money raised went to the Haitian Government, close to 90% was spent in Haiti by international Relief Groups, like the UN and yes, some went to private contractors to rebuild after the earthquake.  It is not like the Haitians had the ability to undertake such a massive project themselves.

      @mhorndisk:

      This war you guys are waging… it's not even going to last ten minutes when it comes down to the final battle. You have no idea what you're getting yourselves into. You better be very careful what you say because you are treading on very thin ice. I'm not making a threat in any way, I'm just telling you what I've seen, and it's grim. It does end in bloodshed, and a total wipeout for all of us. And there won't be any gay people left with the path that you're taking. And CNN doesn't care. The conservatives have LOTS of guns. I have seen them. You should just back off and leave them alone.

      So now you are not only an anarchist, but you are predicting, if not promoting civil war.  That explains a lot, including your stubborn refusal to find truth in anything that does not comport with your wold view.

      I don.t watch late-night, so I could care less, but here's the full quote for those who are interested:

      "Mr. Leno made similar comments earlier this week to The Hollywood Reporter, saying, 'I don’t like Trump, I can’t stand the guy, I don’t like him personally. But the constant negative Trump stuff on a nightly basis? I think it has a debilitating effect on people. People are just, ‘Oh, gosh, I don’t wanna watch TV anymore. This is just the same thing every night.’"

      @mhorndisk:

      It's time. We all know she's guilty Trump. Do it. It's time to make these criminals pay. Republicans were involved. Lock them all up. Throw away the key. Into the pits of Hell they will go. If he doesn't do it, we will press and press and press until it happens. It is getting close to the end.

      Let's see now.  You don't believe the FBI about Clinton.  You don't believe the CIA, NSA, DNI and FBI about Russia.  The NYT, CNN WaPO, ABC, NBC and CBS are fake news.  Stephen Hawking is a tool of  global bankers. Now the Republicans are involved in some unnamed crime.  Who do you believe?  Your Supreme Leader? Or are you just an anarchist?

      The four agencies did investigate it.  They could not make public the details of the investigation because it would have compromised sources and methods. Comey is high respected by his fellow FBI agents.  In fact, they recently wore "Comey is my Homey" T-shirts to celebrate Family Day.

      Did you read the report, or even skim it?  You dismiss the report by 4 major national intelligence agencies out of hand, but repeat the debunked conspiracy theory that Seth Rich leaked the DNC emails, which evn Fox ans Sean Hannity had to retract.  Talk about selective hearing!

    • RE: Hot Republican Congressman keeps telling CNN reporter, COVER THE NEWS!!!

      @raphjd:

      You are probably right. I think CNN is over-reacting.  I personally feel Trump thought it was clever and re-tweeted it.

      I agree.  Someone found it, showed it to Trump and he re-Tweeted it.

      That is the problem I have with CNN.  For the last 15 - 20 years, they have gone from being unbiased and just reporting the news, to being the mouthpiece of the DNC and SJWs.

      If it's a liberal doing it, they over reach and declare it's done for the very best of reasons and make it sound like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.    Take the exact same thing and have a conservative do it, they over reach and declare that it's based solely on evil intent and that it's shit on a stick.

      I think painting any particular outlet with a broad brush is overreach.  Then you get to dismiss out of hand, anything published by them as fake news.  Even if there is bias in the way they present it, the facts are almost always true, and when they are not, they correct it.  You also need to distinguish between the reporting of the news and commentary on the news.  Trump has conflated the two.

    • RE: California to DENY Voter/Election Records to Trump's Election Fraud Commission

      @raphjd:

      Think of it this way–the president cannot insist that all states strictly enforce speeding laws, even though that probably would save thousands of lives a year.

      Reagan did with the drinking age.   He said that any state that didn't raise the age to 21 wouldn't get Transport funding.

      Similar thing with the 55mph speed limit.

      ++++

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right_of_foreigners_to_vote_in_the_United_States

      According to that, it's federal law that prevents non citizens from voting in federal elections.

      The President is the top enforcer of federal law.

      State, county and local elections are up to them, not the federal government.

      San Francisco, for example, will allow anyone over 18 and meeting residency requirements to vote in the school board elections from 2018.

      If you scroll down the page, California has an extremely worrying way of allowing non citizens to vote in federal elections, violating federal voting laws.

      I personally know someone here in the UK who, despite the truth, signed a similar thing to be allowed to vote in UK/EU elections.

      I'm a dual national so I can legally vote in in the US/UK/EU.

      Voter fraud isn't hard to do since Voter ID and proof of citizenship is deemed racist.

      I was unaware of the 1996 federal law.  However, the scope of the commission appears to be broader than that.  The Vice-President, who chairs the commission " reiterated President Trump’s charge to the commission with producing a set of recommendations to increase the American people's confidence in the integrity of our election systems."

      That vague charge allows it to get involved in issues far removed from illegal aliens voting in federal election.  That is why its request for complete data from the states is so objectionable.  As I said before in this thread, if the federal government were to provide the states with the SSN they know are being used by illegals to get jobs and ask them to cross-check their rolls would be perfectly reasonable.  But this fishing expedition, with little data to justify it, is dangerous.

    • Replying to Your Own Posts

      There are a couple of users on this board (you know who you are) and occasionally others who reply to their own posts, sometimes several times in a thread.  This makes the thread difficult to read and follow, especially when another user is replying to pst #1 while the other is posting #2 and #3 before the second user can get his reply up.
      Can we get some guidance from the moderator on this, and perhaps a rule–such as waiting an hour before replying to your own post, or better yet, using the edit button to add additional thoughts.  Otherwise, it is confusing and comes off as a wild rant.

      You really have to learn to use that edit button.  Replying to your own posts is like talking to yourself and makes the thread unreadable.  The declassified report was entitled Intelligence Community assessment, but in the first paragraph of scope, it specifies that it represnets intelligence gathered by the CIA, NSA and FBI.  You really should read it yourself, so you know what you are up against.  Follow this link.

      Now we'll see if the President can stick to the real issues.  BTW, I can be critical of an institution and still trust it overall. But CNN, more than  any other outlet, was bound to overreact.  They were the ones getting punched.

    • RE: NYT FINALLY Admits 17 Agency Story: A HOAX

      I'm sure if the Russians had hacked the RNC they would have found damaging content as well. Emails are supposed to be private.But the real meddling was done by Russian social media bots planting fake stories that gullible people like you ate up. And what does it matter if it was 17 agencies or only the top four? Does that make it any less true?  Does that make the story Fake News?  And if a domestic person or agency had carries out the hacks, they would be prosecuted.  IF Trump's campaign colluded with the Russians it was to avoid that very real fact.

      I will have to agree that I was taken in by the number 17, not that the assessment of the four top agencies with purview is any less significant.  But is you look at the other 13, many do not cover this area.  The are the Defense Intelligence Agency, Department of State – Bureau of Intelligence and Research, Department of Homeland Security – Office of Intelligence and Analysis, Drug Enforcement Administration – Office of National Security Intelligence, Department of the Treasury – Office of Intelligence and Analysis, Department of Energy – Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence,  National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, National Reconnaissance Office, Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance,  Army Military Intelligence, Office of Naval Intelligence, Marine Corps Intelligence,  and Coast Guard Intelligence.  You can see that they would know little about Russian meddling in the first place.  I think the confusion came from the statement in the report that "it is the unanimous conclusion of the US intelligence community…"  That got conflated to mean all 17.  The NYT now realizes it and has corrected the story.  It shows they are committed to the truth, not that they are fake news.

      Sorry.  Nothing to do with their race.  I put them in the same boat with Wellness Natasha.  Just because they have a YouTube channel doesn't mean they have anything worth listening to.

      @mhorndisk:

      Yet one of those four, Comey of the FBI came out and denied it totally. So that gives you even less credibility. The other three were Obama appointees. You just can't admit when you're wrong can you? They didn't approve it??? What the hell do you THINK that means??? Do you even hear the words coming out of your mouth?

      Because we are not wrong.  You have selctive hearing.  Comey said he told Trump that he was not personally under investigation.  He did not say that Russia did not meddle in our electoral process by hackin emails, etc.  In fact he repeated it many, many times, and emphasized it was going to happen again.

      As for Fake news, the NYT, when it finds it printed something untruthful, offers a correction.  When has Trump ever done that for the gadzillion things that he gets wrong?  He is the worst provider of fake news ever, because he never admits he was wrong, even when proven so.  Much like yourself.

      https://consortiumnews.com/2017/06/29/nyt-finally-retracts-russia-gate-canard/

      That's right. And yet they keep on keepin' on with this retracted story by the New York Times that "17 Agencies Found Trump in Collusion with Russia."

      It was FAKE, Very FAKE, and FRAUDULENT. It was NEVER True. But you guys believed them and used it to base ALL your conclusions. Sorry, you LOST AGAIN! And I'm really sorry for those of you who aren't paying attention to the REAL news, just because it isn't what you WANT to hear!

      Here is the correction:

      Correction: June 29, 2017

      A White House Memo article on Monday about President Trump’s deflections and denials about Russia referred incorrectly to the source of an intelligence assessment that said Russia orchestrated hacking attacks during last year’s presidential election. The assessment was made by four intelligence agencies — the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Central Intelligence Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National Security Agency. The assessment was not approved by all 17 organizations in the American intelligence community.

      So I guess you don't believe the CIA, FBI, DNI and NSA?  The others did not deny the intelligence, they just did not approve it.  Keep dreaming.
