      @perro2492
      I wish it weren't the case but I am not sure you really need to be too careful as to who you give invites too. This site needs more members.

      It is clear too that there is already a DCMA presence on this site as it is common to get a take down notice in minutes. On other sites the same torrent can be up for months! Although there are other similarly infringing torrents that can stay up here forever too

    • RE: confused about making my own torrents

      @lololulu19
      I have known torrents to pass a recheck when the files are in a folder on my network other than the one they are pointed to. This has happened on more than a couple of occasions. I don't know how. Maybe the location gets into the OS default folder parameters. I have never checked though.
      I use Qbittorrent - it is a very popular client and has a built in Torrent Creator in recent releases. It is very easy to use and has all the right tick boxes for 'private client' entering private tracker details as required - almost foolproof.
      Small word of caution - if you do move files for any reason do not on any account change the folder name.
      Qbit works really fast provided the files are on a local drive of the computer that has Qbit working - otherwise over a LAN it sometimes takes an age.

      If you want to transfer files to other people or across your network then you can create a public (i.e. not private) torrent and insert details of a number of opentrackers such as
      udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:6969
      https://privtracker.com/733sax3m1pr66j0myr8mafihc7gasnm5/announce
      http://opensharing.org:2710/announce
      There are others too and they come and go
      If you put these trackers in and then send the torrent created for download then you should have no trouble transferring. It can take a few minutes for the trackers update then the only speed limit is on your system. The torrent is public so don't name it other than with a junk name, not that the details are public only the files existence. After you have finished delete from your system.

      There are not a lot of users on the site so I am surprised they are closed to new registrations. Though it is possible they have always been that way. I will have a look when I next log on (which has been a little while).

    • RE: Re: What is a seedbox Topic

      @bolero
      Seedbox providers vary a lot in what they provide whether it be cost, storage, bandwidth, apps and don't expect support beyond the knowledgebase. Like you, I have found that they provide minimum information upfront and you have to try them to see what you get for your money.

      However 4 tips -

      1. if you want to seed a torrent you have uploaded then a seedbox makes a humungus difference in (a) speed of seeding first leechers (seconds rather than minutes) and (b) if ratio is important then only with a seedbox will you get any signiifcant share of the data uploaded.
      2. Seedbox providers don't normally count in any bandwidth limitation the data you upload to your seedbox storage or the data you download from your seedbox storage.
      3. If you want to increase download speed from your seedbox don't use ftp instead 'share' your files and use a download program. They can often multiply speeds by 4 to even 10 times. Also you may find time of day makes a big difference that depends on who you are sharing your bandwidth with as managed by your ISP. It may be worth experimenting.
      4. If you want to improve speeds of uploading to your seedbox you will usually find using a Google G Drive helps. Google seems to be able to upload data placed in a G Drive folder very fast. Many seedbox providers (not all) allow you to transfer files directly from other cloud storage - Google and Dropbox are the most common.

      Honestly if you use a seedbox with any degree of common sense upload speed and download speed from your ISP will only be an issue if you play online computer games. Seedboxes cost a few dollars a month and are only expensive if you want many TBs of storage. Most people don't really need anything other than very temporary storage. If you really need cloud storage then you should get it from a mainstream provider, don't expect a seedbox provider to be around in the long term.

    • RE: Home Network Setup

      @MrMazda
      Absolute NoNo to put a wireless router in a basement. The router should be as high as you can get it close to where the outside connection comes in. That will dramatically change your wifi reception.

      Have you ever considered a seedbox? Apart from first immediate upload the seedbox will do all the subsequent downloading at the rest using huge bandwidth. Using a seedbox you will capture a high proportion of the download volume of those leeching though I suspect you have a high ratio anyway. Even if you are only bothered as to how fast you seed to the first leechers a seedbox will get your torrent off to an immediate (immediate) start.

      The seedbox will of course download almost immediately any well seeded torrent. Using a downloader from the seedbox will improve your download speeds - though unless your brother is on the computer playing games and streaming TV at the same time that shouldn't really be an issue.

      Also, of course, a seedbox is the best way to secure your privacy.

      I know that you must know all this. But that is an awful lot of money to be spending on equipment and additional DSL lines that you don't need.

      @Estion-0
      You are downloading a 34Gb torrent. If this is any indication of your downloading history then it is very likely that your ISP is throttling you, perhaps even barring you. You are really exposing yourself to problems. If you want to download torrents of this size then use a seedbox.

      Checked out the twitter link. The one after the one shown here has yet another amazing cum shot. This time the light catches his spray and turns it into shooting stars. Very spectacular - in an odd way - certainly not appropriate for the kids firework display.

      @MrMazda
      Probably.
      Its just much easier if you are in a hotel room to use the Smart TV to logon and watch your video using Plex or Jellyfin. Go straight to last series, film or whatever you were watching.
      No laptop required.

      I think the great benefit of Plex and Jellyfin is the number of devices that have apps for them. Even old smart TVs have apps and so do the various fire, roku sticks etc. I use Plex for ordinary shows and films which I don't mind others ( and/or their visiting children) seeing and Jellyfin for porn.

      I also run Plex from a seedbox. This works very well with friends and family as if it doesn't work for them - the problem is their end not mine. No bandwidth issues either.

    • RE: VPN Effect?

      @IncubusAZ
      If you have a plan that gives you 30Mb down you normally get 10Mb up. I accept that the up speed you achieve does depend on how fast the downloader at the other end is able to pull the data. Obviously there has to be someone downloading at all. I have a similar plan. On a reasonably well leeched torrent I routinely get 1 - 1.5 Mb and occasionally as much as 5Mb.

      So 500Kbs seems a little low to me. ISPs do throttle P2P traffic once the system spots the pattern, some quicker than others. This they do via the port you use which is why you should always set your torrent client to select a random port on start-up - and restart the client program from time to time.

      I believe that you have to be a fully paid up member of Gagaoolala to get the screen and that none of the downloaders will be able to capture the video stream directly. The only thing you can do is do a high def screen capture from the Gagaoolala app.
