@lololulu19 you've demonstrated many times in these forums that you do not get a great number of things.. so I guess add this one to the list.

RE: Easy way to improve your RATIO
@lololulu19 any other special request on this super helpful "EASY WAY TO HELP ME GET PORN I WANT/IMPROVE YOUR RATIO" post?
I mean, it's a little bit suspicious that you'd have such specific instructions on how to structure the upload, being that you already have it but just can't upload it because <insert hilarious reason here> but I'm sure it's because you know others want to sort porn the exact way you do..

RE: What's everyone using for their media management?
@jokuihmemies Google will be your friend here -- or use some of the links already provided in the thread -- if one of the apps sounds of interest just search the name plus 'download' in Google and you should find the site to get it .. Plex's is https://www.plex.tv/ but that might be over kill if you're not looking to stream out your stuff to friends and just want to sort/manage your stuff easier then one of the other apps mentioned above should work well.

RE: Upscaling - WHY?
@eobox91103 I agree .. some out there just 'push the button' to move some low quality 240p/480p direct to 1080p or higher then post it like they did something good lol.. then there are others who take the time to try to get an output that's better. There are a lot of very poor quality low rez and color mapped vids out there that AI won't fix, but can make it look better - TV/media players can't really do a good job of dynamically correct vids that have issues bad blocking, halos, ringing, banding, aliasing, and color corrections..
I've 'upscaled' several videos that did not focus on the resolution at all (you can only do so much with crappy input video quality).. Instead I focused on the quality of the picture itself, color graded or in some cases audio corrections with vocal isolation to undo the background music drowning out the verbal. All of thise can be done by hand but AI can make it dead simple to get a clean result in a fraction of the time.

RE: Site duplicate rules as applied to AI enhancement
@NF16 yeah I see your point - and if at the end of the day the result is basically the same as some other work but just done differently, then it's a dupe.
My thinking is that so long as there are included screenshots of the material, and not just using external internet google image sourced pics, that the duplication decision can be made then by moderators. If it looks materially no different than other torrents and near same size and is just another replication with the same result then it seems to fall into the realm of what the word duplication means. That said, it'd be much more work for the moderators to validate this such potentially small idiosyncrasies the squeeze may not be worth the juice..
To complicate matters, some, albeit very few, AI enhancements are focused on other restorative functions such as vocal isolation (background music / noise isolation), grain modifications, and/or significant amount of noise alteration that the intended result is not as easily distinguishable, if at all, from still screen captures. For example, I've made a few AI enhancements to some that left visual material alone and only focused on audio alterations. On a few occasions I've made vocal track treatments because the background music was blaring or in one case (ahem, looking at you "Cock on the Rocks") that the original production had all audio recorded by a flowing pool waterfall

RE: Easy way to improve your RATIO
@eobox91103 very cool! Now that is some good advice on an easy way to improve a ratio. All without specific instructions on what type of porn, how to sort it by one's individual preference, etc. Thank you for sharing!

@kalayaan ah okay, that makes sense. Thanks!

RE: Picture Uploads by other users if Torrent already has 10 pics?
@kalayaan interesting - so assuming I did upload 10 pictures during the torrent formulation process, how would additional pictures, uploaded by another user, beyond the initial 10?
That's the past that threw me off because what you are describing, I think, is the behavior I was expecting but there it was with more than the 10 pics I initially uploaded when creating the torrent...

Picture Uploads by other users if Torrent already has 10 pics?
I just noticed something on a recent upload where someone uploaded pictures on a torrent I made that already had 10 pictures when I initially created it.
Was something changed where 10 is no longer the limit after the initial creation of the upload?
I try to make sure that I have at least 10 pictures from the actual content I am uploading so the community can better determine if they like the content based on the quality of the upload itself, whereas there are others that just Google Image Search related images and use those to get some quick seed (heh).
I'm cool with people being helpful if an upload doesn't have many pictures to help provide context but I did like the limit to prevent people uploading pictures of similar but different content within the Torrent. I'm hoping there's a way to keep the associated pictures pristine with what the uploader specified during the 7 days before the torrent gets 'laminated' - it'll stink if I have to check my uploads for riff-raff pictures that aren't from the actual content itself

RE: Warning
@tnar imagine if he were to find out out that there are other torrent sites, that have been around for years, that focus specifically on mainstream movies and broadcast & premium tv shows which he thinks is sole scope DCMA... the remaining logic circuit would melt.

RE: Uploading a JustForFans siterip
@kco yeah I get what you mean. I did a little digging and found the following that I think speaks of the techniques you're talking about:
Spread Spectrum Watermarking: This method spreads the watermark across the video's frequency spectrum. It's less likely to be removed without degrading the quality of the original video - probably the most robust approach and hardest to thwart.
Transform Domain Watermarking: Things like like Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT), Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), and Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). These methods transform the video into a different domain to embed the watermark, which makes it harder for people to find and remove the watermark.
Quantization Index Modulation (QIM) Watermarking: This changes certain parts of the video data just a little bit to hide the watermark. Not as robust as the above but still hard to remove.
Perceptual Watermarking: This method uses the human perceptual system's characteristics to embed the watermark in perceptually significant components of the video, making it harder to remove without noticeably degrading the video quality. Not too difficult to thwart.
Least Significant Bit (LSB) Watermarking: This is subtle and doesn't affect the video quality much, but if someone slightly changes the video then more than likely it also spoiled the watermark.

RE: Flava Works still doing this
@bear1515 I agree with you if it was an email.
He specified "in the mail" which to mean only reads as snail/post mail. If addressed to him and not something like "RESIDENT OR CURRENT OCCUPANT" then they already have him on a target list which at some point they compelled his ISP to provide his info.
Then again, if this was an email then yeah delete it and move on as it's a nothing burger. Responding to it only will make things worse.

RE: Flava Works still doing this
@me7022 I'm curious if you torrent with VPN? If so, does it have a killswitch or consistently make sure that when VPN isn't active that the torrent client isn't open?
If you do use VPN software and are cognizant not to have your torrent client active not in use, then who is your VPN provider?
I'm guessing you were tracked down by using a VPN provider that gives that information up to authorities or through commercial arrangements or your torrent client was up while your VPN connection wasn't..
To directly address your situation: Even if the studio isn't operating its assets and rights could have been acquired by another and make a business model of litigious defending their new intellectual property - i.e. they just make money by suing people and seeking a quick settlement buck. In their calculus it's going to cost you a lot more to defend yourself in court by hiring a lawyer, even if you have a good case, than it is to pay them off. Since they have a seemingly legitimate claim of the content, then their lawsuit would not be easily squashed with a request for a SMJ to dismiss. Worse is if you completely ignore it and they proceed with the suit then you stand to have a default judgement for the plaintiff. I'd do a little digging on the internet on defending yourself against DMCA claims (there are great AI Chatbots that focus on legal stuff - or maybe even regular ChatGPT), or talk to a lawyer. To find one, go to your state's bar association website and look for Intellectual Property Lawyers or Copyright Lawyers in your area - don't call the ambulance chasers you see on TV or general civil lawyers that don't specialize in Copyright or IP law.
