RE: Non visible or disappeard torrent
I agree that in the process of moderating staff can be overly aggressive to moderate faster so to speak, "amateur" is enough of a theme to grant it its own category, so a collection of amateur clips should not be deemed too loose, specially if it contains properly named files and thumbnails. But any themed collection is still subject to rules regarding to quality of the torrent itself.
Now I risk making OP even more pissed but how much effort can you have put into it if the filter is simply "amateur gay sex", that makes no sense
Depending on the size of your collection you can streamline it further into more palpable themes. I try to organize my collection based on my own kinks, despite almost all clips being amateur/homemade i try to sort them as specifically as possible:
If I created an "amateur gay sex" torrent with all my collection it would have more than 10k videos and over 140GB.

RE: Experiences with completely straight guys
There's no way to talk about this without turning it into a therapy session, it's pointless to say anything that's opposing to your views if you're here with the sole intention of being right and teaching how things really are for the delusional gays, who love to cast their gayness onto our good, god-fearing straight men.
For as much as I agree that being submissive and eager to show your hole, or have it played with, has nothing to do with one's sexuality, what you are describing in your arguments is just wishful projection:
You are actively shaping the conversation to validate your own narrative that straight men can (and do) engage with gay men for the giggles, while remaining straight. Depending one how many of those "experiences" you've had, it's easy for you to extrapolate this as a baseline. Just take yourself as an example, you describe yourself as "privately openly gay" as if that was an actual thing, when in fact you are simply a gay man who everyone assumes to be straight, and you have the last say on who will know you're not.
You see yourself as someone who is just another non-flamboyant, judgement-free bro, and still it never occurred to you that you might be signaling to them that people can be gay in secret.
You say that it's possible to be straight and still enjoy assplay and submission, while some will say that these are seemingly "gay" stuff.
You also say that these guys are absolutely and objectively straight... Because they don't look gay and are married to women; Things that are seemingly straight... To you!You are just as sure about their sexuality as are the other people in that comment section, you simply disagree on the final value. But at the end of the day, you all know just as much about the guy (his name, some private family photos, his hole...) and you assume whatever aggregates to your own narrative.
In the end, the core idea that I'm trying to convey is that no one truly knows the full story, and we will always project our own biases onto others’ actions and behaviors. It might be very easy to spot when others are doing it, but not so easy when it's ourselves.

RE: upload ratio help
@thor9023 donating in exchange for upload credit is worth it when you have a new account with very low traffic. Once your numbers go insanely high like several terabytes, it is no longer viable to donate for upload credit because it will barely add to your ratio.
Now do as others have advised you, use the seedbox wisely: look for recent torrents with more leechers than seeders, and if those are not available focus on recent torrents with the least seeders. Don't forget to check the freeelech list periodically and make sure to grab all the big collections.

RE: Seed Requests
@jonmasters once the reseed button is pressed, everyone who has downloaded the torrent at any point will be messaged, even if they are already seeding that torrent. the problem could be simply that neither you or the person trying to download are able to connect to one another. this is a very common occurrence in torrenting, sadly.
the vast majority of users depend that their client can initiate a connection, because they're unable to receive incoming connections. for this to occur, the other party needs to be reachable. when all peers are behind this limitation, that is, when all peers can only initiate a request but not receive, they are unreachable.
torrents with very few seeders are susceptible to being in this limbo where the person who has the files can never reach the person trying to download.
making torrents freeleech usually helps overcome this because, with lots of people trying to download, the more likely it is that the seeder will be able to reach someone. and in this case, this someone becomes a "hub" that is simultaneously downloading and uploading to the other users who cannot connect to the original seeder.
i'll stop here cause its too long already, but if you're curious about what causes peers to be unreachable or solutions to circumvent this, feel free to ask.

RE: Need advice. Grindr guy post breakup
I had a similar case but I was the hookup, it started all just nice, after the sex dude started talking about past romances, I honestly don't know why people do this. I thought it was bad enough but then he started to teach me about League of Legends out of absolutely nowhere.
Just like you, I don't actually care, but I do my best to listen, but in my case it was a oner, while with you things seem to be developing a pattern, exchanging sex for emotional support, if anyone is using the other it is happening mutually.
Even though you don't particularly care for his problems, if you're at least somewhat of a nice person, you'll be interested in not help making his problems worse by taking part in his harmful behavior.
You could simply ask why he is on Grindr when he clearly has not got over his ex. Maybe he thinks this is what he needs to overcome it, or maybe he just wants the sex as he works on it somewhere else. Probably he didn't even put much thought to it.

RE: Not liking the category genre order
@amris it's been like this for decades, it never really worked and probably never will. The idea of a "main category" is just stupid because, as you pointed, it is arbitrary. When you perform a category search, it will only look for main categories. If you want to include a specific subcategory you have to use the Browse page, and doing so will only search inside subcategories, so torrents with "trans" as main category will be ignored.
These are the kinds of problems you create by making everything an arbitrary choice and not accounting for people's decision making and search behaviors in the process.
It's such a simple solution, having main/sub categories have the same weight, in other words, if the user searches for a category the site will look in both main and sub... In fact it's so simple that if it's not done yet it's because they don't care.

RE: DMCA strike
@mihaig110 happened to me in the past, in my case i did not even mention anyone because my torrent was a collection of a bunch of random small creators that nobody really care about. It was super weird that there was a request because no one could possibly be representing any of the featured people... Because no one was mentioned.
Keywords certainly play a role, images can also trigger the dmca bots. In my case I reuploaded the exact same torrent file, didn't change a byte, created a generic title that was still faithful to the content, and provided no preview whatsoever. there was a thumbnails folder, so people could still have a sneek peak. That one torrent is still up.
One reason why you don't see users bringing this up is because it is against the rules, this topic will most likely be locked soon. There really isn't anything we can do, it is the dmca lottery and some of us are more lucky

RE: Is it in my imagination? Smelling semen
@Kekkaishi when i sniff my towel it smells like burnt electronics. Like the gentleman above said, in my case I know it is caused by the bleach, but even knowing that my mind still cannot not identify it as burnt electronics.
We are fascinating creatures.

RE: Not liking the category genre order
@raphjd this only make things even worse, now it is a guy's arbitrary decision on top of another guy's arbitrary decision, and anyone searching for something must count on fate to find things. And if there has been countless threads, I think this one is just as pointless, whoever is in charge of making such changes will never see how the way it works now is simply dumb and inefficient.
it is understandable that the joker guy has a life and that this site is not his source of income so he can't dedicate his entire time to it, but to be honest sometimes if feels like he doesn't even use the site at all.

RE: do u recignise this bum?
@jokuihmemies i have asked for a link a couple of times and got a slap on the wrist. I've been here long enough to know the rules but they're dynamical it seems

RE: Seeding doens't count towards "uploaded"
@niko94 I get the idea with downloading torrents that just became freelech, it's clever indeed.
Regarding the inaccurate reported stats, the VPN (or proxy) is likely contributing to the issue. Whether you're using a VPN app or a SOCKS5 proxy, it can indeed affect how the tracker and peers connect to you. Two key factors that could be causing the discrepancy are:
Loopback and Internal Routing
Sometimes, local traffic is mistakenly handled as external traffic. For example, the connection between your torrent client and the proxy/VPN server might occur locally within your device or VPN network but be treated as if it’s happening over the internet. This can lead to your client reporting inaccurate upload/download values, potentially inflating the stats. If your VPN has a built-in traffic monitor, it’s worth checking to see if it reports similar values for incoming/outgoing connections compared to your torrent client.Overloaded VPN Server
If the VPN server is overloaded, it can lead to higher rates of packet loss and peer disconnections. You might send data to the VPN server, but it could fail to reach the peers due to network congestion or server overload. This could result in your torrent client believing it has successfully uploaded data, but in reality, that data never reaches the intended peers, or it might need to be retransmitted. As a result, your upload stats might be inflated due to the retransmissions or because of the data being counted even if it’s eventually discarded. -
RE: Lack of seeding ability
@padredenny It has become extremely difficult to maintain a positive ratio in the last few years, I don't even notice it happening... I just remember that I used to have a very high ratio and recently it's been slowly decreasing, which has innevitably prompted in a change of my behavior, now I'm much more careful with what I choose to download, and as a result I have less active torrents, reducing my seeding capacities even further.
I have stopped downloading anything that isn't freeleech, unless it's something that I REALLY crave and failed to find somewhere else. This is only effective in preventing your ratio to go down, it has barely no effect whatsoever in improving the ratio.
The only proper action one is able to take is start uploading their own massive torrents, which has become a standard. Someone needs to build their ratio so they go and upload a 100GB torrent, meaning someone will go and download 100GB risking to never seed it enough to make up for the spent bytes, so now this person will need to upload their own massive torrent. The result is simply a fuckload of massive torrents that nobody care about, they just sit there forever with a couple of seeders.
If I recall correctly, the last tweak/update that was made to the ratio algorithm happened 10 years ago, the issues that prompted those changes have been replaced with newer issues and, from my own experience, those have been going unaddressed since then.

RE: Tracker/Client Issues - Need Help
Enable the log tab:
Change the incoming port in settings:
Check the log to see if IP/port mappings were successfull:
Restart qbittorrent.
If the problem persists, try disabling queing and connection limits:
If it persists call a priest.

RE: Upload stop Work an Donwload is slow
@zullu your computer might not be able to receive incoming connections, either by a port forwarding misconfiguration or a carrier-grade NAT.
Make sure that the port set in your torrent client is correctly set in your router's settings and that it is open and reachable. If the port stays closed despite being configured correctly, then it is a limitation of your ISP's infrastructure.
If you're unable to fix it by your own means, two things you can try are:
1 - contact your ISP's technical support and have them help you with port forwarding.
2 - use a VPN that supports port-forwarding, like Proton VPN.One big disclaimer if you decide to go the VPN way, you will need to change the port inside your torrent client every single time you reconnect to the VPN, which can be annoying, so my advice is to take it as a last resort solution.

RE: Complaint about seedbonus points
@frostycab one interesting thing that happens in this god forsaken forum is that P&D take up 90% of all traffic so if you just ignore this section altogether, the forum becomes a ghost town, which I personally love. As far as blocking goes, most of the P&D people only exist inside that category, I've never heard of the aforementioned gentlemen before, for example, so blocking is not even necessary. Apart of course from the two main characters, and I've already blocked the one I am allowed to.

RE: Torrent stalled - Help
@blablarg18 Seeing this as a weakness, it's almost as if you're saying "if something's annoying you, you must face it and be annoyed indefinitely instead of doing something that'll effectively fix the issue"
But since the subject popped up, what I think truly shows weakness is making a rule that says people are not allowed to block you. I'm not talking about you of course, just a vent... God knows I tried
