@tnar I follwed the same route to wind up on BiglyBT too. One feature I use regularly is the labelling/tagging function, so I can set up rules for new torrents when they're added. All my porn gets a porn tag automatically, then downloads to one folder before moving to a completed folder. I have another rule set up for the trackers I use for films or software. It;s just nice to have is all run without any real interference required. I don't know if other clients have that ability or not, but with Bigly I just download the torrent file itself and an when it's done everything is neatly organised into it's own folders.

The UI is quite nice too. I seem to be able to fit more info on screen than I can with most other clients.

Just to chime in...

As @eobox91103 said, if you are fortunate enough to join a swarm before the torrent gets deleted and there are still others in the swarm then by all means keep the torrent running in your client. When the torrent gets deleted from the tracker it seems that anyone already in the swarm can continue to both upload and download. As such, as long as there is a full copy available, either from seeders or from enough leechers, it is still possible for the download to finish. I've managed to complete a few downloads in the past after they became unregistered. If you are lucky enough to have the full copy then please do keep it running as long as there are any leechers in the swarm. You won't get credited for the upload on the site, but you will save people from having wasted a lot of ratio on a download they might never have been able to finish.

I don't know how you think this comment helps your case. You've always made a big thing of "gay" porn specifically not being able to be copyrighted to to being definitively "obscene." Now you're saying that even though a straight studio has brought cases against people those too have never made it to court. Interestingly, here is a quote form the law site you linked to, though in the interest of full disclosure for all the members like me who are NOT IN AMERICA AND NOT SUBJECT TO US LAW this article only consider the US legal system. I've highlighted the most relevant portions:

"Congress did not make clear if it intended to extend protection to every kind of work. Copyright law does not identify specific content that is ineligible for copyright protection. As a result, copyright law protects pornography because content-based restrictions on copyright eligibility could abridge the freedom of speech of the First Amendment. That said, obscene works do not receive First Amendment protection. In Miller v. California, 413 U.S. 15, 93 S.Ct. 2607, 37 L.Ed.2d 419 (1973), the United States Supreme Court found that the First Amendment’s freedom of speech does not apply to obscenity. Specifically, under Miller, obscenity is found when the average person, using contemporary community standards, would find that a work appeals to the prurient interests, depicts or describes, in a patently offensive way, sexual conduct specifically defined by the applicable state law, and lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value. This brings us back to the question of what is obscenity. Applying the above test, does the average person find depictions of gay sex offensive? Blah blah blah... There are a lot of conditions in that definition of obscenity, and they'd all need to be shown to apply for any specific piece of gay porn to be considered obscene. Now consider that all of this only applies in the US, and every other country has it's own laws and definitions.

Honestly, do you ever actually take a minute to read anything you write before you press the submit button? The site isn't breaking the law because it complies with DMCA. If it was to ignore DMCA entirely then you might just get your wish and have the whole thing put to the test in a court of law somewhere, but thankfully the powers that be aren't dimwitted buffoons who are going put the whole site at risk to satisfy your need to feel validated.

Here's an idea, why don't you go and take this up with Joker and see if you can convince him. After all, you could be preaching to the choir on the forums but that isn't going to change anything. I'm sure he will welcome the opportunity to partake of your informed and inarguable wisdom. He's not an easy person to reach though. What you need to do is contact helpdesk with this code-phrase: "Please delete my account." and they'll put you in touch. It's not a trick, I swear!

What exactly are you hoping to achieve with all the posts on this topic? Do you expect the site owners to say "Oh, well Lollicopters said we're ok, so I guess we can ignore everything else." I've got a better idea. They should just respond to all DMCA takedown notices by providing your contact details and let you deal with it. Job done, and it might give the rest of us a bit of peace and quiet!

Congratulations on citing an article in the belief that it 100% supports your argument, but not bothering to even read the whole paragraph your provided. Are you ever going to accept that whatever law you think supports not just this but any argument is not universal? You keep doing this, finding one lawyer who weakly backs up your assertions, forgetting that the law they might refer to doesn't apply anywhere else. It cannot be applied globally. Quoting something from a law firm in Detroit does not mean that anyone in the UK, Egypt, China, India or anywhere else gives a damn about it because it doesn't matter to any of them. That firm could probably come out with truckloads of laws that don't even apply outside of Michigan, let alone the rest of the US, but you still 100% believe that you've won your case.

The issue of obscenity is the other problem. You haven't defined it. If you've tried in the past then it almost certainly didn't pass the same test I just brought up. I think you have a basic misunderstanding of the difference between "the law" and beliefs and values.

I have a question. Have you ever downloaded pirated films, music, books, software or anything else? Please don't try to be clever and lie because nobody will believe you. Do you not think your statement above should apply to those sources too? After all, you're not going try and argue that those things aren't covered by DMCA, are you?

I would like to finish by saying that in the case of this post I'm strangely proud of you. Unlike many of your more controversial posts you have at least returned to try to engage with responses rather than simply stride into the room and leave a steaming turd on the floor before walking out and watching from the window while everyone loudly complains about how much it stinks. So yeah, points for that.
