      It's a sad -- but not completely shocking -- turn of events

      So true. Porn news is too often a necrology of beautiful men.

      I am reminded of a line from Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song Trilogy: I think my biggest problem is being young and beautiful. It's my biggest problem because I've never been young and beautiful. Oh, I've been beautiful, and God knows I've been young, but never the twain have met.

      No, Arnold, by not being young and beautiful at the same time, you were probably saved much grief.

      Amen to that. It is a tragedy that so many only find peace in the grave.

      As correctly pointed out by the commentator in the link above, all you need to do is keep repeating your lie with the support of a vocal minority and the acquiescence of everyone else on your side of the political divide. Keep doing that and you won't really suffer any punishment in Cancel Culture. Smollett maintaining his innocence despite overwhelming evidence and investigation is no different than Trump maintaining he won the election despite overwhelming evidence and investigation.

      Religion, or something claiming to be religion, is a part of society and family, and something that will affect LGBT people in a variety of ways. It would be good to have discussion on that, especially since the religion topics don't seem dominated by bullies or cancel culture.

      I agree with the first part of the quote. On one hand, the historical Churches are certainly declining in attendance, but religion, the feeling of transcendence or the need to feel a transcendent, arcane and trans-individual "breath" is still very present (in yoga trend, the fascination of superheroes sagas...). On the other hand, the non-historical churches, e.g. charismatic churches, are very much flourishing. And these tendencies, institutions, gatherings, and movements do impact the life of LGBTQ people.

      Concerning the second part of the quote, I shall partially disagree. I have read posts in this forum in which the tones weren't always respectful, or weren't perceived as respectful by the party concerned. I guess there is always room for improvement!

      Anyway, in light of my personal religious path and my gay identity, I would be very much interested in sharing positive and negative interactions with religious institutions and persons with other members of this Forum and Community!
      Best,
      K.

      @flozen said in Sex-Ed for 18-24 Group:

      @bi4smooth A very impressive dissection of roles and responsibilities!

      I would be fine if the meatier (sorry, not sorry) topics such as reproductive physiology, masturbation, consent, harassment, contraception, STDs, rape and incest were perceived as first-line parental jobs.

      They should be, but many of us (parental types) didn't get the talk from our parents, and so don't know how to go about doing it! (For the record, my parents gave me a 4-volume book set on human reproduction!)

      But knowing how many parents fail, I feel these topics should also be reinforced by the middle-school system through early high school -- especially for students transferring to upper classes from deficient middle school programs.

      I agree completely. Human reproduction - including topics like STDs - should be taught in schools! But not the morality part of the equation. Topics like masturbation, abortion, birth control, homosexuality, etc. should be shown as "part of the Human experience" without the GOOD vs BAD part. (e.g.: People masturbate. If you want to know about your religion's feelings and teachings about it, ask your parents. I would say or ask your religious leaders, but too many of them are pedophiles, so better to stick with your parents.)

      And with my secular (non)beliefs, I would rather keep God in the parental explanation of why we're incented to pursue sex as a feel-good biological imperative, and let the schools offer the alternative of a purely evolutionary approach.

      As noted above: morals do not need to be taught in school. That is an area of instruction that should be left to parents (and, ahem, religious leaders)...

      If you're a vibrant lover of life, sex education and exploration should have no expiration date, so bi4smooth, please provide links to your 1980s porn appearances, so that we may grow in knowledge, length and girth. πŸ™‚

      I wish I could. My ex-wife destroyed my VHS porn collection, and that included my only copies of the 2 movies I did (1 gay, 1 bi)...
      I've looked for them online, but have never found either... there was a magazine shoot too, but alas, that also appears to have been left in the pre-Internet dustbin of history.

      @raphjd said in Does a Bidet Make Your Day?:

      @flozen

      We have a bidet in this house and our previous house.

      Thanks for following Netiquette.

      In the ABSENCE of a bidet, I use baby-wipes (or an equivalent) to clean after defecating.

      If I'm stuck in public and can ONLY use paper, I'll wet it (even spit on it) to TRY to improve its effectiveness, but once I get home I literally MUST go clean myself. I feel DISGUSTING if all I've used is plain, dry paper!

      My old house had a bidet (attached to the toilet, not a separate item)... my current one does not, and the bathroom is not "architected" in such a way as to make it feasible - and its a rental, so I can't remodel.

      FWIW: I won't rim a guy unless I've wiped his ass with a moist towelette or baby wipe or wet cloth... SOMETHING! EWWW.... πŸ™‚

      Thanks for the post! Interesting topic, given that the US id kinda famous around the world for our LACK of bidets! But that's changing... albeit slowly, it it changing!
