At night, we don't get too wild. We will talk about the year that passed, the year to to come, with champagne and nibbly bits, in front of the TV. This year, it will be interesting to see the reviews and the ratings for CNN, which has two gay men – Anderson Cooper, Andy Cohen -- covering the night's countdown.

2) I have two Belgian lesbian friends (everyone should), and they would highly approve of Flemish-influenced cooking that involved beer. You should absolutely make the beef carbonnade!
3) Any device that saves time doing mundane chores (like rust removal) is worth trying. I am not a fan of copper or brass because of the unending maintenance. I am half-tempted to say, pitch it (unless sentimental, or valuable antique) for a less fussy version.
