    • RE: Fuck, Marry, Kill… the Game

OMG!  Although I'm all about brunettes, I had such a crush on Peter Tork.  And you murdered him.  (In the opening credits, where he's rolling down the street in the bath tub…  >:D )

Someone will have to distract me, and dull the pain, by answering the Backstreet Boys FMK.  I simply can't go on.

    • RE: New Year Resolutions 2018

      @JohnAllenson:

I save my lofty resolutions for the High Holy Days.  Ritual and daily practice do better in cementing those resolutions; like:  don't reply to anything on the internet with anger, answer personal e-mails within a day, stop buying candy….

John, although I'm an enthusiastic atheist, I just received a message from G-d, and he told me to tell you, buy some candy, now and then, as a reward for meeting other goals.   👼

    • RE: Happy New Year in my Language

It's nice to see a Tagalog New Year's greeting here at GT!

When I lived in NYC, I had a few Filipino boyfriends over the years.  The words I heard the most were ulol and bastos.  I suppose those are the words for "smart" and "sexy."  (Or, perhaps not.)

Anyway, a Happy New Year to you, kalayaan, and everyone, in every time zone, in every language, wishing for a better 2018!

Well, then, I'll move us to something much more fresh, with absolutely no mullets or Cosby sweaters.

If you recall Breathless by the Coors, you should really enjoy It's a Shame by First Aid Kit, which, like the Coors, also features a beautiful guy in the band.

    • RE: Locker room ethics

warpaint, you've certainly put a lot of thought into almost every aspect of "locker room ethics."  I will only address the point I feel strongest about, and that is #5:  Doing selfies.

Imho, phone cameras make many gym members uncomfortable and should not be used in a public gym.  Other gym members have the expectation of, and the right to, privacy in the changing room, and a clicking camera phone is, simply, inappropriate – no matter in which direction it is pointed.   👼

Calorie reduction via eliminating refined sugars; an emphasis on lean meats; and increasing vegetables.

    • RE: New Year Resolutions 2018

I have resolved – by the first day of spring -- to convert 10 lbs. of fat to muscle, to get a tan, and subsequently, to go up to NYC for a couple of weeks and get laid.  Frequently.

I have no loftier resolutions at this point, just focused on the one that's in process.   >:D

    • RE: Fuck, Marry, Kill… the Game

I would fuck John Harlan Kim until the Earth stopped spinning, but he's too young for me to marry.

I would marry Noah Wyle (and fuck him quite willingly), had my eye on him ever since ER.

By default, the kill goes to Christian Kane, who is already, conveniently, carrying an axe in photo.

      @AngelK:

      😄 😄 😄
I was on Christmas holidays with family!

Old European disco for my return!

      Boney M.
      Rasputin
      Maxi Version

Twelve Inch - Seventies: More, More, More

Bonne année à vous et votre famille!  (Peut-on tutoyer?)

Let's listen to old Disco for a New Year!  The following song is a bit obscure, especially when played "Live."

"Spacer"  Chic  (Live in Rome)  – also recorded by Sheila and B. Devotion 1979

    • RE: Happy New Years! How are you celebrating? What are you doing?

First of all, as far as your observing a traditional Japanese New Year, it all sounds great.  I am turning a little green with envy!

I was in NYC with plans to remain there (but not with the tourists in Times Square) for New Year's Eve, but the prospect of a blustery, 20-degree-below-normal weekend sent me packing:

      https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/capital-weather-gang/wp/2017/12/29/eastern-u-s-to-endure-most-numbing-new-years-eve-cold-in-memory/?utm_term=.e8df033dc921

So, we're back to Fort Lauderdale, where the Chamber of Commerce paid me 50 cents to mention the December 31 forecast is 73/60, sunny.

At night, we don't get too wild.  We will talk about the year that passed, the year to to come, with champagne and nibbly bits, in front of the TV.  This year, it will be interesting to see the reviews and the ratings for CNN, which has two gay men – Anderson Cooper, Andy Cohen -- covering the night's countdown.    🍌   :banana2:

Going back a few posts, Cuervos, I think you know it was intended to be the hula dance, rather than the Hulu subscription video service.  What can we do with you?    :bithfight:

Now, someone else discuss the THIS or THAT merits of washing soda, because that's new to me, as well.   :afraid2:

      1. Thanks, both, for SIoSI ice cream advice, the little Roku is adorable, perhaps I will find one that makes two cups, for sharing (or slightly greater indulgence).  If I become a famous ice cream brand I will name it… Flozen … and send you each annual royalties.

      2)  I have two Belgian lesbian friends (everyone should), and they would highly approve of Flemish-influenced cooking that involved beer.  You should absolutely make the beef carbonnade!

      3)  Any device that saves time doing mundane chores (like rust removal) is worth trying.  I am not a fan of copper or brass because of the unending maintenance.  I am half-tempted to say, pitch it (unless sentimental, or valuable antique) for a less fussy version.

SIoSI check out the movie 4 Days in France, which came out on DVD earlier this month?

    • RE: Should I or shouldn't I? (a game)

Maybe you already made your decision.  But I would go for a handful of chocolate-covered coffee beans in most cases, as they are more of a "treat," I suppose.  It's good to treat yourself.

SIoSI buy an ice cream maker?

(What's your experience?  Worth the effort?  Is it likely to become one of those gadgets that gather dust, on the top shelf of the pantry, after a month or so?)

(Jamaica, by all reports, can be a far more dangerous place for the LGBT community as well.)

Biscuits, please.  At breakfast, with honey.  At dinner, perhaps with some Jalapeño butter.

THIS or THAT:  an afternoon of horseback riding, or scenic trails as a nature walk?

Sorry, I forgot the back end…

SIoSI record all six episodes of Black Mirror, Season Four, available tomorrow, 12/29, and binge watch it all at once?  Or, should i spread out the joy and fright over several nights, or weeks?

      @cteavin:

Should I or shouldn't I whitewash an old Balinese chest?

I know it's a bitch to take a pic, but this is a case where seeing is so much more than describing.  Anyway, without a photo of the chest, I vote for you to paste a giant applique of this tasteful Etsy graphic on the front…

Should I, or Shouldn't I, point out:  a two-item choice belongs in THIS or THAT?

      (Let's eat both.)

SioSI read Dante's Divine Comedy?  Yes, I missed it in school.
