@lizejing1994 said in Is there a do not upload list?:

@iaimtoplease https://www.gaytorrent.ru/notallowed.php is this what you're referring to? Because I'm actually thinking about joshua armstrong. I used to remember there are a lot of his seeds on this site but they're all gone so I presume he is on a no-upload list or something like that.

The page linked by @iaimtoplease shows material that can't be uploaded at all. There are also studios (like EnglishLads and OnlyFans) that often request that torrents of their material be deleted for copyright reasons. It's OK to upload that material, but know that it might be deleted.

I'm not familiar with Joshua Armstrong, although I did a quick image search and he's definitely not under-age. If his stuff has disappeared from this site, it's probably for copyright reasons.

The moderators/staff of this site seem to follow a good policy here: If a person/company can demonstrate that they own the copyright to material being torrented here, the torrent will be deleted and the uploader notified to that effect, although the site will not tell the copyright owner who the uploader was. Furthermore, the admins/site will not comment to others regarding a torrent that they have deleted. These policies protect users' privacy while honoring copyright requests.

(There is another torrent site that currently has five Joshua Armstrong torrents active. I won't mention that site's name here, but you can send me a PM if you're interested.)

    • RE: Nothing Downloads! HELP!

@john32123666 Follow-up: I found that my uTorrent had installed version 3.6. By going back to 3.5.5 everything now works fine.

It seems that version 3.6 added a tracker "wss://tracker.btorrent.xyz" to every torrent, which would try to update every 2 minutes. Going back to 3.5.5, this tracker still shows up on every torrent but with a status of "invalid URL."

This might have been the problem--having this weird tracker on every torrent, constantly updated, may have swamped the client. Users of other torrent clients might check to see if they have been automatically update to a newer version with a similar "feature," and if so, consider going back to an earlier version.

    • RE: US Male Bare Loaded request

@bilobilo1406 The best way to get this material would be to:

      • Search for all of these titles at https://www.gaytor.rent/search.php?search=bare+loaded&incldead=1&inname=1&infn=1&orderby=added&sort=desc
      • Download all of these torrent files
      • Click "Request reseed" on each of the torrent pages

It's quite possible that people will reseed some of these, and that you'll get some of the material. If a given torrent doesn't have any new seeders within a week or so, it's not likely that any will show up and you can delete that torrent off your system.

If you're limited in how many torrents per day you can download, pick a few off the list that have a high "snatched" count--that will make your request to out to the most people. (I see that one of them on that list has zero snatches, meaning nobody downloaded it, so it's a lost cause.)

Note that your ratio won't be affected unless and until you start downloading this stuff.

Note that requests for new torrent uploads aren't permitted in the thrum, but that's not what you're doing--you're asking members to re-seed something that's already in the system. Nevertheless, someone might not get this distinction and seek to scold you. Do not take it personally.

@blablarg18 That other board is also the only place where it is permitted--even encouraged--to insult people. It doesn't belong here.

The argument ad hominem (literally, "to the man"), such as name-calling or insulting, is the weakest form of discourse. It is the ultimate refuge for those devoid of fact, reason, or intelligence.

No warning that all your uploads were getting DMCA'd?

I've had a few torrents taken down for DMCA reasons, but I always get a polite note from the mods saying what's happened and that my identify is safe. After a while, I realised what studios were on this warpath, and I've avoided uploading from them since. I do grab their material if someone else posts it 🙂

    • RE: Is there a "Removed Torrent List"?

@archiver55 To answer your topic question--no, there isn't a list of removed torrents that's available to users, according to what a moderator told me a few years ago.

As @john32123666 says, torrents can disappear if the copyright owner asks it to be taken down. Material from EnglishLads and OnlyFans is often removed. If the torrent is taken down but you're still connected to seeders and/or leechers, those connections will stay active and you can download/upload material from those other people. It will not, though, be counted by the tracker and figured into your ratio.

I can imagine its frustrating to have a torrent disappear when you're using it to boost your ratio. I suggest no using EnglishLads or OnlyFans for this purpose. The torrent you mentioned (Guys of London) sounds like it might have been a thinly masked bit from EnglishLads or its affiliated studios...and those folks watch this stuff carefully.

I still have the file on a backup drive.  It's only 1 minute 28 seconds, 10MB file, not large enough to seed here.  It's small enough to be emailed, so if anyone's interested, send me a PM and I can email it to you.  I'll try to attach a screenshot to this posting.

Thanks; I see it now, but what an odd place to put it. I would have simply appended it to the "Rules" page. New users might not know what "DMCA" means, and could easily miss this stuff.

A good maxim for web content is "Don't just post something so that users can find it; post it so that users can't miss it."

    • RE: Why do new upscaled posts immediately get hit with a 1-star rating?

There's probably somebody who thinks that all upscaling is bad--which isn't strictly the case. Using simple software to increase the resolution of a video file won't improve the quality, and just makes the file larger. Many people have done this, falsely claiming to have converted the file to HD.

On the other hand, there is some very sophisticated software that can make some improvement to the quality of a file when increasing the resolution. If the uploader has done this, they do indeed merit our thanks. While a 20-year-old file cannot be made to look like a current HD file, it can look a bit better.

I suspect that the one-star rater assumes that the uploader just increased the resolution without any quality improvement (which is the case with most upscales). Blowing up a file with no benefit deserves a low rating, but unless somebody has downloaded the material and compared it to a lower-resolution original, s/he's not going to know whether it's a "good" upscale or a "bad" one. It would be nice if the torrent page software only permitted rating by people who have completed a download of all the material, but that sounds like a massive software headache.

    • RE: Dead Torrent

By all means use the "request reseed" button,
      37da0075-cf33-46aa-8989-76243ca3c090-image.png
but also download the torrent, where it will sit idle on your machine until someone reseeds it.

Will someone in fact reseed the torrent? That depends on how many people snatched the material, and how long ago it was active. In my experience, about one-third of such requests are fruitful, so it's worth a try. If you haven't had luck finding a seeder within a week, it's probably not going to happen and you can delete the torrent from your client.

@geobear40 said in Straight porn vs gay porn, your thoughts:

They are both overly scripted. First they do oral then this position than that position and finally the cum shot.

Amen to that...and in male-male porn, the first guy to suck is almost always the bottom. (It doesn't happen that way in my bedroom.)

@adonismix said in Straight porn vs gay porn, your thoughts:

I think it's either that, or an issue where the audience (primarily heterosexual and male) feels as if a more attractive man is some sort of competition.

I agree. Porn is a business, after all, and the customer base for male-female porn is overwhelmingly male...males who don't want to be threatened by guys with better bodies, bigger cocks, etc.

Conversely, many straight women like male-male porn: They're not as much interested in watching women, but they like watching guys...either solo or paired up.

@blablarg18 Here's an interesting exercise: In the browser search box, type in "you" as a search term, and see how many times it gets highlighted in various messages. I use Firefox, and it gives me the following:e58b31a8-ffcd-4a0b-b401-eb4b58e24372-image.png

When a post is primarily about another person, and not about the issues, it's off-topic, and probably worthless.

I recommend to the Forum Administrator that this thread be locked, and perhaps deleted.

    • RE: DMCA strikes and the 90-day suspension

@tnar (and all others): If you click on a user's name, it will bring up their profile page. One can then click on the three vertical dots, and select "Ignore User," which I have done for a few users (including one beginning with "L") so that I don't have to read anything she/he/it posts. It's always the same thing, and I don't need to read it again.

As a related convenient feature of the forums, one can also block specific forum categories, which I have also done.

    • RE: Upload Limit

@pmrrk I use uTorrent and I don't notice a problem here. I don't think I fiddled with any of the default options/preferences, so that's probably not an issue here.

I looked at the torrent you linked, and right now it has about 25 seeders and 2 leechers. As far as the tracker software is concerned, you're on equal footing with the 24 other seeders of this material even though you were the original uploader. New people grabbing the torrent will still get your material even if it isn't directly downloaded from you.

Even if you don't get lots of upload volume from the torrent, you can take satisfaction in knowing that there are 50+ other members who have downloaded your stuff. They might not post a thank-you, but they do appreciate it.

@Estion uTorrent 3.6 is filled with bugs. My system "auto upgraded" and it was a mess, so I downloaded and re-installed uTorrent 3.5, turning "auto updates" off.

If you search the forum for the term uTorrent, you'll find a handy how-to guide for doing this, posted by @john32123666 . It works very well, keeps all your current torrents, etc.

    • RE: Why are porn star ID request posts being deleted ?

@twinkerzzz said in Why are porn star ID request posts being deleted ?:

Do / should requests to ID a particular porn performer constitute an 'upload request' ? Surely an upload request is different to an ID request ?

Clearly an ID request is different from an upload request. If you want to find that information, a good resource is PornBaseCentral, at https://pbc.xxx/wiki/Main_Page . That said, I think people should use judgment in how they use the ID information they get--as much as we might enjoy a performer's on screen activity, we need to let their private lives remain private if that's their desire.

Also just out of interest why is the new rule concerning upload requests in existence ?

Nobody has answered this, but I think it's because the site wants to protect itself: The forums and the torrent pages are public--one doesn't need a username/password to read the material, only to post or download torrents. That means anyone can see this stuff, including copyright owners. If someone requests an upload of "Tasty Twinks from Transylvania"*, a copyright owner could see that his material is being requested and thus can watch for it and potentially take action if it shows up.

.* I'm using that film name as a placeholder, not as a covert request. I don't think that title exists. If it does, it's made by the same company as "Bushy Bears from Boston," "Hairy Hunks from Huntsville," :Filthy Fratboys from Florida," and, from their straight division, "Naughty Nurses of Nashville." You get the idea...
