@giantskull probably just your banks fraud department verifying that it was a legitimate transaction. you don't need to say what it was for, and they most likely won't ask.

Perhaps the system considers active those "leeching torrents" in which you downloaded only part of the shared files.
it does. you either download 100% of a torrent or you'll always be seen as a leecher to the tracker.

I'm not sure I would say "absolutely stop seeding."
Don't misquote me. I said "...absolutely stop seeding if you want credit for any data that you're uploading."

RE: Why do torrents that have already been taken down still affect my ratio?
@bi4smooth Their topic and message are two different things. A torrent taken down, I read that as removed, would error in your client as "unregistered" in which case you should absolutely stop seeding if you want credit for any data that you're uploading.
The first part of my response though answered their question as to why removed/duplicate torrents affect ratio, that data sent/received has already been transferred and reported to their account. The removal of a torrent doesn't remove the fact that data has been downloaded and uploaded.

Always check in on your torrents so you can stop any that have been taken down that you're still seeding. You won't be credited for anything you upload after it has been removed.
...as it's not being reported to the tracker any longer.

The data transferred has already been counted. You're "charged" for what you download before it was taken down, and you're also "credited" for what you uploaded before it was taken down.
Always check in on your torrents so you can stop any that have been taken down that you're still seeding. You won't be credited for anything you upload after it has been removed.
