I'm happy for people to believe in whatever they like as long as it doesn't interfere with me but I do find it annoying when people quote the bible so selectively. At the time of the verses you quote there were no Christians.

And why do all these 'militant' anti-gay Christian people seem so angry - I thought Jesus was all about love.

We won't get into the whole Leviticus thing about mixed fibres, menstruating women or shellfish but if the Bible is holy writ, surely you should abide by all of it.

And so far in England we have had two Anglican male priests marry and two Lesbians get married in a non-conformist Christian church. World still seems to be turning

From your profile you haven't even been a member for a day and you seem to have downloaded quite a bit of stuff.

If you really can't wait for the generosity of other members sharing, I will ask the staff if they will refund your money and you can spend it on places that have instant download.

Meanwhile most of us will be grateful for the sharing and some of us will even say thank you

PS I wouldn't worry too much about slow downloads - with your ratio you might not be able to download at all soon

I would urge all potential posters to check as carefully as possible whether your new torrent is a duplicate. I saw that a number of torrents posted today were exact duplicates of previous posts.

No-one is accusing the new posters of stealing or conning You've gone to all the trouble of preparing a torrent, gathering some info and pictures and shortly after you upload it you get a message saying it's a duplicate. But I know the feeling. It's happened to me.

Fortunately the message you get is gentle and says thanks and try again which I hope people will do.

So my advice is search before you go to the trouble. There are so many torrents here, you can't be expected to remember them all. I have often thought 'ah, I will share that' only to discover that there are already copies one the site. And if you are in any doubt at all, remember there is a helpdesk and members who will lend a hand.

Sorry, Popper, I was being dumb.

I follow you now and have (inadvertently) tested it. I shut down uTorrent overnight and have just restarted it and the torrent which showed 195MB last night now shows zero but there has been no effect on my overall totals.

So your explanation is borne out.

The original poster says "I continued my non-stop 24/7 day after day". I was just wondering if there may have been some odd breaks which might get overlooked, a reboot, closing uTorrent, a reset, a break in internet connection. Nothing that one would class as a shut down of the computer but just enough of an interruption to reset the 'currently seeding' figure.

And your thought about deleting the U/L column is valid given that people who haven't followed this thread might think that was the figure credited to their ratio.

Just a PS from me. I wouldn't trust the figures given on my page under 'Currently seeding -  Show seeding torrents'

First note that if you were the original poster it shows you as uploading nothing for that torrent - which is obviously silly. The original seeder (in almost all cases) must have uploaded at least the size of the file. I recognise that this is the way the software handles the original seeder's traffic. Other sites handle it in different ways

But I do have one seeding torrent that shows 195MB uploaded under my profile, but close to 900MB uploaded via uTorrent. And I rarely have more than a few torrents seeding and usually only on two sites and never the same file at the same time on different trackers.

First, let me declare I have no knowledge, inside or out, of the .ru tracker. I do know I wouldn't trust any figures given by uTorrent, whether it be amounts of data or people connected.

Second I do wonder why you have 100s of torrents seeding 24/7. Even if the .ru staff accepted your figures and added the disputed upload to your account, your ratio would go up from a very respectable 1.28 to a slightly higher 1.64.

So why not sit back and enjoy your downloads. Seed to around 1.0 for each download and then let someone else in to boost their ratio.

I hope no-one will bite my head off. Oh, and I didn't read any accusation of your cheating from the .ru staff, just the statement that some people do.

Maybe you would find it less stressful to use a site that has no minimum ratio policy

Like you, I like to know some of the background details, especially of the actors.

I wouldn't say I'm a guru or a mentor, more addicted but if I can help at all, give me a shout
