Turns out it's nothing to do with your sterling efforts, there's something about my Firefox settings that blocks the link.
Tried it in IE and got straight through to what looks a wonderland of info

Your ratio seems to be coming along nicely. Couple of things to remember is not to download too much, too soon and keep your seeding going after you complete.
Other ways to increase it are to download some freeleech torrents or even upload your own.
And yes, there's a nice collection of vintage (some, very vintage) stuff here

First I can understand your frustration, it's happened to me. But when gt.ru receive what seems a valid notice that something should be taken down, they usually act on it. Not doing so is potentially too time-consuming and expensive.
It is probably worth seeding to completion as I think the torrent is just removed from the public forums and allowed to continue until all the current downloaders have completed. Then it gets removed from the site.
But good luck with your campaign, you're probably talking to the already converted here
