      Oh shut up, Feng Feng.

      Blah Blah Bloviated Blah...

It's your fellow liberals that are once again trying to make pedo and animal rapists mainstream.

Democrats are not attempting to "make pedo and animal rapists mainstream" - and your claiming that they are is just your typical demonizing of the other side... right out of the Communist Handbook!

You have to be careful when using this tactic, Comrade - you can't be SO HYPERBOLIC that people don't believe you!

Let's not forget, it was one of your fellow liberals that called me an asshole for not wanting gay porn in elementary schools. It was also your fellow liberals that tried to pretend that it was only in high schools, despite proof that it was in elementary, junior high, and high schools. That's how perverted and massive liars you clowns are.

I believe my part in that discussion was along the lines of: this is why there is the profession of LIBRARIAN, and we should let them do their jobs! Your definition of "gay porn" might be 2 naked men fucking, but someone else's definition of "gay porn" might be 2 shirtless men kissing! I don't believe any of that discussion brought up WHAT WAS determined to be (and reported as) "gay porn"...

And one final comment: for someone who has adopted the Trumpist tactic of "call all opponents by objectionable nick-names", you're awfully sensitive about being called an asshole! In my experience on this Forum, if "names are being called or insults thrown" - it usually started with you!

Where there's smoke, there's fire... and where there's fire on this Forum, there's almost always @raphjd standing by, match and blowtorch in hand! πŸ™‚

It's OK by me - I have fireproof jockstraps! πŸ™‚

@raphjd said in Universal Healthcare according to liberals:

Um... not defending the idiots in the Illinois State Legislature (every state legislature has wakkos in it - and since I live in Florida, I will not throw TOO MUCH shade at Illinois! My State LEADS THE WORLD in wakko!) - BUT - wouldn't this be Selective NON-Healthcare (vs. Universal Healthcare)???

I get it - vaccine mandate <==> universal healthcare... but this isn't about the vaccine mandate, this is about "punishing" people who won't comply.

For the record: in Illinois, if you get COVID-19, the Gov't covers your medical bills - IN ADDITION TO your insurance. The idea is to ensure that anyone who gets COVID-19 can get fully treated, regardless of insurance status.

I haven't read the idiotic bill (and I won't) - but it would seem to me that this bill would remove that State coverage for COVID-19 - which would ONLY affect POOR PEOPLE, because the wealthy all have health insurance... GOOD Health Insurance, I might add!

In short: this is wrong - on many levels - regardless of how pro-vax or anti-vax you might otherwise be...

I've tried to make this point before:

      • Vaccines are GOOD! They are saving lives EVERY DAY! That includes older vaccines (like Polio and Chicken Pox), as well as new ones (like HPV, Shingles, and COVID-19)
      • Requiring vaccines to go certain places and do certain things is ALREADY PRESENT in our culture... just TRY to register your kids for public schools without their up-to-date shot records! If you're anti-vax for your kids, you either home-school or private-school your kids, and we've all agreed to that for decades now! Why is the COVID-19 shot any different?
      • Requiring people to take a vaccine PERIOD (as-in, there is no way to decide NOT to take it) is un-American and amoral to my Libertarian beliefs. If you ACCEPT that you cannot work for the Federal Gov't (or a contractor), or go certain places, or do certain things because of your choice, that's fine - BUT IT IS STILL YOUR CHOICE!
      • This doesn't have to be SO HARD! Except that we're telling ADULTS to get a shot, and not children! This is the same thing as "required" school vaccinations, and don't get me started on the military! My son in in the Army - they had DOZENS of additional shots given to them during Basic Training... no opt-outs, unless you were allergic to something (in which case, you got an alternate treatment - but you did NOT "opt out"!). Orders are orders! Take the shot or be Court Marshall-ed for disobedience! Refusing to take the COVID-19 shot in the military is NO DIFFERENT than refusing to be deployed to Iraq because it's too dangerous, or refusing to do push-ups because the ground is too dirty! Orders are orders, soldier|sailor|airman|marine|coastie|guardian!

@raphjd said in Liberals are child and animal rapists:

Based on the comments from liberals, here and everywhere, you are what every whacked lunatic on your side says/does.

We see this with the douche bag liberals here, as they sling shit at me for something I never heard of.

Well, it's time we use their logic on them.

ALL liberals rape children and animals and all manner of other nastiness.

I brought it up several years ago that liberals were trying to rebrand child molesters as MAPs (Minor Attracted Persons). It's back.

      Beastiality is Zoophilia, again.

We are being told that these are valid sexual orientations, by the idiotic left.

Someone hasn't been laid in a while! πŸ™‚

As with so much of your divisive drivel, you make no real point here: You just hurl insults and make wild, hyperbolic, and sometimes truly wacky accusations against whole classes of people in an attempt to make yourself (and, I presume, your political viewpoint) seem "good" - to an audience of one (the man in your mirror)

I get it - the first part of your post, at least: you feel persecuted. Poor white man, always persecuted! The only possible thing WORSE would be if you were a poor STRAIGHT white man! Now THOSE guys have it BAD! Everyone's gunning for THEM!

But, what's with the conflation of pedophiles and zooophiles after? Did your Russian Translator get the lines mixed up there? You keep switching back and forth! Can't you keep them straight?

On a more serious front - suggesting that being a liberal and being a pedophile are related is irrational. Political views and sexual depravity are unrelated...

      • there have been roughly the same numbers of Republican and Democrat MoC (and Liberal/Conservative MPs) expelled for inappropriate sexual contact with minors (usually Pages or other assistants).
      • Both Trump (a Republican, if you forgot) and Clinton (a Democrat, if you forgot) were frequent guests on the Jeffrey Epstein "little girl express" flights... (whether either did so to have sex with the girls at the other end is unproven... but if it looks like shit and smells like shit, you shouldn't have to taste it to know that it's shit!)

The same applies to animal abuse.... animal rights activists (which ARE more likely to be Liberals - and are the OPPOSITE of animal abusers) will tell you that wealth, politics, race, and social status are NOT valid predictors of animal abuse!

I suggest @raphjd download some fresh porn, buy some lube, and do whatever you do to get off and release some of that tension! It's affecting your brain function, such that it is!

Even your attempted insults are lacking today!

      @eobox91103

You are a Whataboutism nazi and hypocrite, everyone here knows it.

AH, that is why you, claim, you did it. I still notice that you never, ever mention when someone on your side does it to me because you are so fair and balanced in your comments.

Thank you for again proving my point--that you have nothing substantive to say, and childishly resort to insults.

      You are a typical liberal.

Actually, I'm not. But I don't think you would be able to understand this. Perhaps you can illuminate us as to what you mean by "liberal."

@eobox91103 - I have a word of advise to you, and it's often attributed to Samuel Clemmens (aka: Mark Twain), however, a viable citation has never (to my knowledge) been found. Nevertheless:

      • Never argue with a fool. You'll never convince the fool that you're correct, and bystanders won't be able to tell who's who.

I rebut @raphjd on the merits of his posts. When he calls me names, I ignore it. When he questions my facts, I post sources.

What really GALLS him (@raphjd, that is) is that we agree on many political viewpoints - but I don't follow His Orange-ship, Lord Trump... nor do I accept the Russian misinformation that is so often re-published here - literally word for word!

I also reject divisive politics! I am a Republican, and have been for more than 40 years now. And there are some in my party now, as there have been some in the past, that I am truly embarrassed to share that label (Republican) with... and some Democrats have some good points: they're not stupid (not generally, anyway), they're not UN-informed or mis-informed (not always, anyway), and most of them are certainly not evil - they're just WRONG! LOL Most importantly, I listen to leaders on both sides - except that lately they're not talking to "We the People" - instead, they're shouting at each other and calling each other names... in public.

There was a time in American Politics - during my own lifetime - where political opposites could argue their cases on the House or Senate floor, and afterwards, go out to dinner together with their wives (ok, spouses in today's world?), and share a meal and a pleasant evening together - as colleagues. Truly IMPOSSIBLE today, as each's fringe groups would shred them in (anti)social media!

    • RE: Once again, Biden can't stop lying

Of course, the "liberal" media (like CNN?) would NEVER report on Biden's gaffe... would they?

Look, some media IS highly liberal - but how is that any different than the highly conservative media? The point it, there are FEW (if any) non-partisan news sources out there today - if that's even possible in today's world - for reason's I've discussed in other threads

Truth be told, the "mainstream media" pays a lot more attention to Democrat gaffes these days than to Republican ones (tho MTG is definitely trying!) - and for a simple reason: they're the ones in power!

They (Democrats) ARE the ones to blame for Gov't problems (and there continue to be a LOT of those!)... and @raphjd's favorite news whipping boy, CNN, didn't fail to catch Biden's mistakes - being harsher on is "memory" than even I was! πŸ™‚

(The link to the CNN story is in the CNN name above).

      Again:

      • Did Biden make his FIRST overseas trip as a Senator to Israel? YES, among other places too!
      • Did Biden meet with Israeli leaders during this trip, including PM Golda Meir? YES - though that isn't surprising! They would have treated ANY US Senator the same way!
      • Was Biden shown Israeli war plans for the 6-days-war? NO! It was the Yom Kippur War - but he did discuss those plans with Meir.
      • Did Biden fancy himself a potential liason (nay, even Ambassador) to potential Israeli / Arab / Palestinian peace talks? Yes his writings of the time clearly show that HE THOUGHT he would be an excellent candidate for that job, and was CERTAIN that he might be asked to do so... BUT, he was (almost laughably) mistaken... the idea that the re-elected (by a WIDE margin) Republican President Richard Nixon would tap a freshman Democrat Senator for such a highly important role is laughable - But Biden was only 30 at the time, and just elected Senator of Delaware... he can be given a little slack for thinking himself somewhat more important than he was at the time... it's called HUBRIS, and in my personal experience, it's far from RARE in 30 y/o men! Much less those who are Senators!
      • WAS Biden used as ANY kind of liaison or ambassador in the Israeli conflicts of the 1970's - at all? NO! and, in part, because the Israelis wouldn't have him! You may have read the Israeli Times article quoted above? The Israelis weren't too keen on him THEN, and they really aren't so keen on him TODAY, either!
      • Did the Israeli PM (Meir) invite Biden to Israel in 1973? YES, but it wasn't to be any kind of liaison - it was because Biden was also visiting Egypt on that visit, and they didn't want the Egyptians to be the only "input" the freshman Senator received.
      • And finally: did Biden get some of his facts wrong about what he did (and why) FIFTY YEARS AGO? YES You betcha! Agreed! Totally!

But let me ask you: if you described your first date, would your memory of that even be the same as your date's? OK, go go with me here... does that mean that either of you is telling a LIE, just because your memory of how good the kiss (or the sex, for that matter!) was, or what they were wearing, is wrong?

Look - I teach my children this dictionary lesson all the time - because, like @raphjd, they know that the term LIE (and LYING) are incendiary - explosive, even!

To be a lie, the person has to know (or, at least believe) that what they are saying is untrue! If they didn't know (or believe) it was untrue, then they were just wrong, and not (generally) LYING.

Granted, we hold politicians - ESPECIALLY Presidents - to a higher standard... but I, again, think the facts speak for themselves: Biden got it wrong, but he wasn't LYING!

Oh, and the "liberal" CNN media completely overlooked the whole incident, because they let sitting Presidents "off the hook" *if they're Democrats!

      DOH!

That's totally untrue! Was it a LIE, or just sarcasm...
You figure it out! Gotta love the English Language! LOL

@lovetwinks said in Does the Gaytorrent tracker support IPv6?:

I was wondering if the tracker announces your IPv6 address to peers so they can download from your pc? Also when I download I am seem to be connected to Ipv4 addresses only. Does the gaytorrent tracker support IPv6?

The DNS entries for tracker.gaytorrent.ru and tracker.gaytorrent.tw both resolve to IPv4 addresses only...

So, unless someone wants to share the IPv6 addresses privately, the answer is a solid no... the trackers are not reachable via IPv6.

If you ARE using IPv6, there should be no issue ALSO connecting to IPv4 addresses.... the translation mechanisms are well established and high performing.

I must say that I laugh at the aggressive way some people are for or against IPv6... it's just a different addressing scheme.

I also laugh at companies (esp larger ones) insisting that their LANs switch to IPv6! I've never heard any argument about IPv6 that wasn't based on the premise that "we're running out of IPv4 addresses... but that's only public Internet addresses! IP addresses for LANs are re-used all the time (probably 50% of all users on this system have an IP address in the 192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x range... that's 10's of thousands of users, and only 500 available addresses, no? Well... NO - because those are LAN addresses... no one OUTSIDE of your LAN uses those addresses... when you "get to the Internet" your router "changes" your address to your "public" IP address.

NOTE: This is why, when you have roommates & you're all on gaytorrent.ru, you get flagged for having multiple accounts! You're all using the same public IP address!

@mrker1234 said in You shouldnt use NORDVPN for torrenting anymore.:

@bi4smooth JSYK, I sporadically see an issue with a torrent getting started when SOCKS5 is up. In that case, I make sure the VPN is on and turn off SOCKS5 and once it starts can turn it back on. It isn't often, and not a big deal to me to make sure I have torrent actually started before walking away.
I'm not technical enough to know why even on those torrents it hesitated with, it works fine once downloading. My theory is that is having issue with tracker site, but once stared is dealing directly with the downloader.

I have not been able to get a SOCKS5 connection going in my qBitTorrent... and since what I have works, I'm not really motivated to find out why LOL

I will add one more thing... sometimes, when I tire of the limited countries that have P2P servers available, I'll connect to a "regular" location - and I've never had an issue there either. In fact, if anything, the non-P2P sites tend to be a little faster? I think maybe because Nord is so heavily used for P2P-ers, the P2P servers get more heavily loaded... just my opinion/guess: I have no way of testing that theory without too many other variables...

Greetings - and welcome! Love to have you here!

      A few quick pointers:

      • The only downloading rule is that you have to maintain a sharing ratio.... see this link for a complete (complex) reading of the ratio requirements!
      • There are a number of uploading rules that you should read before you add your own torrents... see this link to that set of rules.
      • The forum also has rules - mainly to post in the right places and remain respectful of others...
      • The exception in the forum is the politics section - where it's sometimes fiery and you should wear your asbestos long-underwear in there, as the rhetoric can get heated. As well, some of the posts in the politics section can be (and are) offensive - but that's allowed in that section. If you're easily offended (or just don't care for that kind of stuff), you can easily filter that channel out.

So - enjoy the porn! Get some more lube, buy some toys, and get to work! Your prostate has missed the workouts! πŸ™‚

@mrker1234 said in You shouldnt use NORDVPN for torrenting anymore.:

I have to agree with the other's comments, I have been using NordVPN for 5 years and have managed to upload 4.4tb and download a similar amount on just this site. Mostly I have it set on the P2P setting, sometimes not, but get pretty similar speeds.

As for the SOCKS5, I am currently pointing at atlanta.us.socks.nordhold.net and it is working. I tend to leave that on in qBittorrent because I have had a couple instances where my system restarted the qBittorrent and I didn't have the VPN running at the time (turned it off to let a friend connect to my Plex server) and got one of those nasty "you were being a bad boy" emails from my FiOS provider.

Ewww.... I got one of those - which is why I switched to a VPN... I used another one for a while, at first, but then read that their "no logging" policy was a lie... an email to their support revealed that they kept no "long term" logs... that was enough for me to ditch them in an instant. I've been with NordVPN since (NOTE:Always re-up with one of their sales!)

I was not aware that the socks5 proxy issue had been resolved... I'll try that on a system and see... thanks for sharing your use-case!

Just out of curiosity, for how long have you two been at each other's throat in regards to politics?

@raphjd is the Administrator here - AFIK, he's been posting this stuff since its inception.

I've been countering some of his drivel since about 2019 - although I've been on the site since 2008, I've only been active on the forums since about - 2019/2020? It was the latter part of Trump's administration, and things (evenpre-covid) were starting to come off the rails...

That's when the overt hyperbole and outright (sometimes laughable) misinformation started... so that's when I started to reply.

Because @raphjd is so Trumpist and extreme in his posts, and I correct the record when he goes overboard, it may seem that I'm Biden (or even liberal cause) supporter - I am not... I am, in fact, a registered Republican - a non-Trump supporting, non-Q-Anon-believing Republican. (We're as rare as albino dolphins these days, but we DO exist!)

For example, even in the article I posted, the mention that the Israeli view of Biden - in 1973 - was that he was "fresh" and "full of respect" - he also "displayed a fervor and made comments that signaled his lack of diplomatic experience."

My point being, the article I quoted was not flattering to Biden (as @raphjd so gleefully pointed out) - but it did reveal his assertion that Biden was too new in the Senate to have made the trip (as a Senator) at all (if you ask me, the now-President keeps recalling this trip because it was his FIRST (obviously) as a Senator, and it made an impact on him), was wrong. And with that being wrong, his hyperbolic claim that Biden was lying all around falls apart - Biden got one thing wrong: the name of the war.

Truth matters - and that's the biggest problem I have with Trumpist followers: not that the ideas they have are so wrong, but that they keep trying to sell people on them with "misinformation" and divisive, hyperbolic rhetoric... and that's not helpful... IMHO.

Biden's latest blatant lie of the day is that during the 6 Days War, he went to Israel as a liaison, at the request of (then) PM Golda Meir.

Biden was still in law school (his 2nd year) during the 6 Days War, but don't let facts get in the way of a good lie. Golda Meir was not the PM during the 6 Days War. Golda Meir did not become PM until 2 years later.

Liberals are quick to claim that he is actually referring to the Yom Kippur War, but he had only been a Senator for 9 days when it started.

Biden is a pathological liar and the left loves him for it.

Yes, he got the name of the war wrong, but the rest is accurate [source: Times of Israel]

He's a dottering old man, and his memory isn't what it once was - but what the hell should we expect from a guy who will turn 80 next year! (For those not paying attention, Trump is only 4 years younger! We were going to set a record for oldest President ever after the 2020 election, no matter WHO won!)

I have no issue with you reporting that he got the name of the war wrong - that's valid and true... had you left it at that, I likely wouldn't have even replied! But no - you had to add all the bullshit... your own lies.... THAT part I object to, and felt the need to set the record straight.

By the way: the Times of Israel article about Biden meeting with Meir in 1973 dates to 2020 - just before the election here. So, unless they were prescient, the article had nothing to do with Biden's claims during the hanukkah celebrations at the White House...

Still: It's time for their generation (octogenarians) to "pass the torch"...

So, I do not believe to you!

Well, fortunately I'm not Tinker Bell, so I don't need for you to believe in me... but I will say that my NordVPN subscription is 7+ years old now, and I've successfully seeded over 25TB of data thru this tracker.

I originally used the SOCKS-5 Proxy setup directly on my torrent client (vs. the Windows Client), but they stopped supporting that at all... so now I use a Windows VM (that I wind up throwing away periodically - for virus infections, as I do not install AV or MalwareBytes on the VM) with the NordVPN Windows client and qBitTorrent... the VM stores the downloads onto a NAS device...

I do nothing to the NordVPN setup (other than bouncing around the globe), and very little to the qBitTorrent setup (beyond what the tutorial here suggested).

I just dl'd a FreeLeech torrent today - 9.3 GB - it downloaded with an average speed of 14 MBps and is currently seeding at a rate of 1.5 MBps (only 2 leechers are connected to me, out of 18 - too bad for the others because I can seed at over 50 MBps for whose who have the bandwidth!)

Look - I'm not saying you aren't having an issue... I'm sure you are! (I recommend re-installing the NordVPN AND torrent clients from scratch and trying again)...

What I am saying is that I'm using it as described above and not having an issue.

I don't see Trump lining up to go visit them!

Not EVERY crime victim needs to get a visit from the President (or ex-President) for the crime to be important! (All crime matters - all crime victims are... well, victims!) But not all crime (or their victims) are "created equally"...

@raphjd said in Smokers and coffee drinkers are healthier, sorta:

According to a new (but small) study, smokers and coffee drinkers have a much higher step count than those who do not partake in either.

I'm not sure why we needed this study, as the results should be obvious.

Coffee drinkers walk back and forth to get coffee. Likewise, smokers go outside to have a cigarette.

Some of you may remember the study I posted a few years ago that showed that smokers and coffee drinkers spent more time working than those who didn't partake. According to the study, smokers and coffee drinkers felt guilty about going away from their desks for their vice, while non-smokers and non-coffee drinkers felt they were owed time away from their desks for "equality" sake. The non-vice people falsely believed that they spent the same amount of time away from their desks as those who engaged in smoking and coffee drinking. The study showed that the non-vicers spent as much as 3 times as much time away from their desks as the vicers.

Interesting... completely believable, although I would say the results are more akin to:

Smokers and coffee drinkers exercise more

I understand the correlation of "healthier" with "take more steps", but that's clearly not the overall case.

For example: caffeine itself is a diuretic (it takes water to process in your body) - BUT the amount of water needed to process a shot of espresso (much less regular coffee) is a fraction of the water in the drink itself! Thus, when you drink a cup of coffee (or espresso), the net intake of water is POSITIVE, not negative.

Similarly, the health benefits walking outside to get a smoke, in my mind, are likely more than offset by the detrimental effects of the nicotine (albeit, perhaps less so if you go outside to put on a patch, vs actually smoking!)

Kind of a "prove the obvious" study - which, as the 2nd half of your post reveals, sometimes is surprising, as the "obvious" isn't really the truth in all cases! SCIENCE!

@eobox91103 A man died show some respect.
He took a risk based on his beliefs, FREEDOM to weigh the risks and to make your own decisions is the AMERICAN WAY

If the guy was just my next-door-neighbor and had these goofball beliefs (you would need to have watched him on his network to get the full breadth of his wacko-ness), I would agree completely: he had and lived his beliefs, and he died because of them - his right, his life, his freedom.

      But this ain't that...

This guy didn't just evangelize for his beliefs, he attempted to sway others to his beliefs - not by convincing them with facts or proof, but by conflating his anti-science beliefs with Christian faith, and insisting that anyone who didn't believe HIS version of things - things having nothing to do with Bible teachings, God, or Jesus Christ - that you were not a "good christian.... and he all-but-extorted money out of his "followers" to boot.

Sorry, I have to agree with the scorecard:
      Science:1
      Dumbass: 0
Evil caused by dumbass: still uncountable, but not climbing so fast anymore!

      @bi4smooth

Even in the UK where they have a legal requirement to be "fair and balanced" (especially true for the BBC due to its royal charter), there are massive liberal leanings in the news.

The various media outlets in the US and UK claim that their news is non-biased, but admit they do editorial programing as well.

Well, if your idea of "fair and balanced" is "supports my point of view", then - especially in your case - the mainstream media is all biased - against you (as-if you didn't think you were persecuted enough already! - Poor white man!)

As for "editorial bias" - I think my comment about their always being some bias in the decisions on what to air, vs what not to air... you can't escape that! There is only so much air time!

If your claim is that the mainstream (broadcast, not so much cable) media has always had some bias, that's probably true (whether liberal or conservative might be up for debate, if you look back)... but if your claim is that the mainstream media is no more biased now than it ever was... well, then you just never paid attention more than 10 years ago!

I'm having this problem still 😒

Is there something I need to reconfigure in my client?

Start by restarting your client program. (Make sure the program really exits! For example, if you "quit" qBitTorrent, it usually still runs in the background... when you "restart" it, you just open a new window - to the same background process that was running before).
