This whole thing is a "how the sausage is made" kind of discussion: keep seeding, play fair, keep your ratios up, and none of this matters!

• Trump has much to gain by claiming to have had the largest crowd in history. There is an intent to deceive there!
• Just exactly what is the benefit to Biden when he claims he was in Israel just before the 6-days-war, when it was really the Yom-Kippur-war? What's the deception?

Biden has a well-established history of gaffes - and he still struggles with stuttering! Oh the inhumanity! GOD save us!

Actually - God (only one cap) is going to have to save us from the inflation these Gov't give-aways are going to cause for years to come! To call a Spade a Spade, the policies that incited this inflation started under Trump, but Biden has exacerbated them!

To be clear tho: Gov't spending (paying for actual things, or actual labor) isn't necessarily inflationary... Gov't giving away money - pumping cash into the economy with no purchase, no "benefit", just giving it away - is completely inflationary!

Under Trump, the "stimulus" was reasonable - inflationary, but inflation was historically low, and the economy had just taken a gut-punch. The 2nd Trump "stimulus" was purely political, and totally an inflationary event - causing people to not only spend unwisely, but also to expect to routinely collect money from the Gov't for free!.

Then, along came Biden - who wanted to show that HE TOO could give away trillions of dollars to people, in exchange for nothing - just free cash! Which piled on the inflationary pressures, and super-heated the economic demands - beyond the ability of the damaged infrastructure to keep up with - which accelerated the inflation even more.

In case you missed it: Jobless claims have dropped to their lowest levels in 52 years! (There are multiple underlying reasons for this - some good, some bad. But facts are facts).

Always check in on your torrents so you can stop any that have been taken down that you're still seeding. You won't be credited for anything you upload after it has been removed.

...as it's not being reported to the tracker any longer.

The site admins try to strike a balance:

• We (users) don't want the site stuffed with copies of the same old stuff
• We (users) don't want to LOSE our downloads just because the uploader posted a duplicate!

So: when a torrent is flagged as a duplicate, it is removed from the website (I think hidden is a better term in this case), it is STILL a valid torrent (I know because it shows, at least for a time, as a duplicate torrent in my list or uploaded torrents!)

Also, when (as the uploader) I am notified that my upload was a duplicate, I am instructed to continue seeding until the last leecher completes.

Since it's still a torrent on the site (even if hidden) leechers still get charged and I still get SBP and upload credits for my torrent.

This is different than a DMCA take-down, where the torrent is actually DELETED (that is, it disappears completely from my list of uploaded torrents). In that case, any leecher who already has my information (IP Address, namely) can continue to download the torrent, but because said torrent is no longer a part of the site, I get no upload credit (or SBP) for it, and they do not get "charged" for it.

If you're anti-vax for your kids, you either home-school or private-school your kids, and we've all agreed to that for decades now! Why is the COVID-19 shot any different?

So, unless someone wants to share the IPv6 addresses privately, the answer is a solid no... the trackers are not reachable via IPv6.

If you ARE using IPv6, there should be no issue ALSO connecting to IPv4 addresses.... the translation mechanisms are well established and high performing.

I must say that I laugh at the aggressive way some people are for or against IPv6... it's just a different addressing scheme.

I also laugh at companies (esp larger ones) insisting that their LANs switch to IPv6! I've never heard any argument about IPv6 that wasn't based on the premise that "we're running out of IPv4 addresses... but that's only public Internet addresses! IP addresses for LANs are re-used all the time (probably 50% of all users on this system have an IP address in the 192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x range... that's 10's of thousands of users, and only 500 available addresses, no? Well... NO - because those are LAN addresses... no one OUTSIDE of your LAN uses those addresses... when you "get to the Internet" your router "changes" your address to your "public" IP address.

NOTE: This is why, when you have roommates & you're all on gaytorrent.ru, you get flagged for having multiple accounts! You're all using the same public IP address!

@bi4smooth JSYK, I sporadically see an issue with a torrent getting started when SOCKS5 is up. In that case, I make sure the VPN is on and turn off SOCKS5 and once it starts can turn it back on. It isn't often, and not a big deal to me to make sure I have torrent actually started before walking away.
I'm not technical enough to know why even on those torrents it hesitated with, it works fine once downloading. My theory is that is having issue with tracker site, but once stared is dealing directly with the downloader.

I have not been able to get a SOCKS5 connection going in my qBitTorrent... and since what I have works, I'm not really motivated to find out why LOL

I will add one more thing... sometimes, when I tire of the limited countries that have P2P servers available, I'll connect to a "regular" location - and I've never had an issue there either. In fact, if anything, the non-P2P sites tend to be a little faster? I think maybe because Nord is so heavily used for P2P-ers, the P2P servers get more heavily loaded... just my opinion/guess: I have no way of testing that theory without too many other variables...

A few quick pointers:

• The only downloading rule is that you have to maintain a sharing ratio.... see this link for a complete (complex) reading of the ratio requirements!
• There are a number of uploading rules that you should read before you add your own torrents... see this link to that set of rules.
• The forum also has rules - mainly to post in the right places and remain respectful of others...
• The exception in the forum is the politics section - where it's sometimes fiery and you should wear your asbestos long-underwear in there, as the rhetoric can get heated. As well, some of the posts in the politics section can be (and are) offensive - but that's allowed in that section. If you're easily offended (or just don't care for that kind of stuff), you can easily filter that channel out.

I have to agree with the other's comments, I have been using NordVPN for 5 years and have managed to upload 4.4tb and download a similar amount on just this site. Mostly I have it set on the P2P setting, sometimes not, but get pretty similar speeds.

As for the SOCKS5, I am currently pointing at atlanta.us.socks.nordhold.net and it is working. I tend to leave that on in qBittorrent because I have had a couple instances where my system restarted the qBittorrent and I didn't have the VPN running at the time (turned it off to let a friend connect to my Plex server) and got one of those nasty "you were being a bad boy" emails from my FiOS provider.

Ewww.... I got one of those - which is why I switched to a VPN... I used another one for a while, at first, but then read that their "no logging" policy was a lie... an email to their support revealed that they kept no "long term" logs... that was enough for me to ditch them in an instant. I've been with NordVPN since (NOTE:Always re-up with one of their sales!)

I was not aware that the socks5 proxy issue had been resolved... I'll try that on a system and see... thanks for sharing your use-case!

@raphjd is the Administrator here - AFIK, he's been posting this stuff since its inception.

I've been countering some of his drivel since about 2019 - although I've been on the site since 2008, I've only been active on the forums since about - 2019/2020? It was the latter part of Trump's administration, and things (evenpre-covid) were starting to come off the rails...

That's when the overt hyperbole and outright (sometimes laughable) misinformation started... so that's when I started to reply.

Because @raphjd is so Trumpist and extreme in his posts, and I correct the record when he goes overboard, it may seem that I'm Biden (or even liberal cause) supporter - I am not... I am, in fact, a registered Republican - a non-Trump supporting, non-Q-Anon-believing Republican. (We're as rare as albino dolphins these days, but we DO exist!)

For example, even in the article I posted, the mention that the Israeli view of Biden - in 1973 - was that he was "fresh" and "full of respect" - he also "displayed a fervor and made comments that signaled his lack of diplomatic experience."

My point being, the article I quoted was not flattering to Biden (as @raphjd so gleefully pointed out) - but it did reveal his assertion that Biden was too new in the Senate to have made the trip (as a Senator) at all (if you ask me, the now-President keeps recalling this trip because it was his FIRST (obviously) as a Senator, and it made an impact on him), was wrong. And with that being wrong, his hyperbolic claim that Biden was lying all around falls apart - Biden got one thing wrong: the name of the war.

Truth matters - and that's the biggest problem I have with Trumpist followers: not that the ideas they have are so wrong, but that they keep trying to sell people on them with "misinformation" and divisive, hyperbolic rhetoric... and that's not helpful... IMHO.
