I see a couple of red flags here. He is abusing you physically and emotionally. He does not respect you and considers you to be his property. I have a lot of "adult" material on my computer, as well as financial data, browsers with saved passwords, etc. This stuff is saved under my user profile (it's a Windows machine), so theoretically nobody could get to it unless they have my logon password. But people are clever, especially nieces and nephews who visit occasionally, Is there a more secure way of locking down these files or directories? Years ago I used something called Norton Encrypt, which locked individual files with a password, but it's rather clunky to use.
A second question involved portable drives, such as USB sticks or external hard drives. Any thoughts on good ways of locking those up?

It's been a few months since you posted, but it would be best to not allow anyone who is a minor to use your computer if you have porn on it. Even if you have it password protected or encrypted, there may be ways it could be accessible. For example, the software you use to play videos may keep a history of videos watched and even have video in a cache. Don't take chances with something like that. Kids these days are smart about stuff like that.

Yes. Under "Where to Search", check the box for "Torrent Description" and use -"original upload" as a search term to exclude them. (Use both the minus sign and the quotation marks.)
If you wanted to search for recycled torrents only, you could use +"original upload" as a search term.

The Comcast data cap was suspended from March until June 30th. Apparently you can pay Comcast for additional or even unlimited data. It's unfortunate for those affected by a greedy corporation, but it affects both downloading and uploading, so it reinforces the need to being careful about maintaining a good ratio in the first place by not downloading a bunch of torrents without thinking about the effect it will have.

I have an issue for the past few weeks. The tracker does not seem to be connecting over my VPN (unless I remove SSL from GT Profile). I do not have similar problem with any other trackers. Tried many countries both in EU, the US etc. but still the same. Changing DNS to various ones makes no difference. The Website is accessible with no problem.
Using the Synology native torrent software.
It applies to torrents downloaded long time ago as well as new ones.

I think it would be from somewhere else? I have a file I want to upload (can at least manage to create a .torrent for it), but it's hard to actually upload it and seed it. When I try and download it again, it stays looking for seeders and peers even if the files are on my PC
So it sounds like the BitTorrent software is unable to locate the video file that matches the .torrent file on your computer drive.
Put the video file in the same folder as the video files you download and then BitTorrent should be able to find the file, check the data, and seed it.

I've been trying to make up for what I downloaded, but the instructions still confuse me. I've read them over and over, but I can't manage to get seeding right. Because of that, I tried using QuickTorrentMaker to upload the file for me; however, not even that one manages to work!
I'm using BitTorrent, if that's of any importance. Any advice would be appreciated!
