Maintaining a good ratio requires being careful from the start and not downloading a bunch of torrents without worrying about the ratio. After a while, it is not an issue at all. The Comcast data cap was suspended from March until June 30th. Apparently you can pay Comcast for additional or even unlimited data. It's unfortunate for those affected by a greedy corporation, but it affects both downloading and uploading, so it reinforces the need to being careful about maintaining a good ratio in the first place by not downloading a bunch of torrents without thinking about the effect it will have.
