@torrhuz: Doctor Who isn't a binge-worthy series beyond maybe a few episodes at a time.
@JohnAllenson: Agree on all points, and big fan of 10 as well.
I feel that 11 didn't have the dramatic acting chops that 10 did. Any scene that required the doctor to be enraged just looked funny with him.
And Steven Moffat went berserk on the time-travelling loopholes. It became impossible to keep track of which companion died how many times, and whatever the hell was up with River Song. Just because you're doing a few seasons doesn't mean you get to reset the universe as and when you like.
With 12 too, the storylines were an issue, and they kept jumping the shark too often.
I agree on the LGBT context in Doctor Who, and Sci-Fi in general has always been a little progressive compared to other genres. It was weird to see Doctors 10 and 11 being almost exclusively heterosexual though. 13's reveal was a big moment for me, and I have high hopes from the new showrunner too.
