@lololulu19 If you mean that accepting yourself as you are is essential to be at peace with yourself, I'm inclined to agree. I don't see how any good can come from rejecting the reality of your own physical being.

Have you checked the trans category on GT? It seems to be getting regular uploads. You can leave the search box empty, just select that category only and hit search. The default sorting option will show you the most recent uploads first.

I don't expect you to agree with how I would rate Obama's performance as president, or with my assessment of how he is regarded. But if you're going to suggest that I'm being derogatory then by all means, make your case.

Even without hormone medication that would be possible. Being on estrogen makes it far more likely but there could be other reasons. For example it could be that the trans person feels intense dysphoria about their own genitals, so to them it would ruin the experience to get them involved, even if they are fully functional.

@blittle I'm sorry, I wasn't really referring to transgender people. I don't want to scapegoat anyone either. This has already been more of a tangent than such a random thought warranted so I think I'll just leave it there before I dig myself a deeper hole.

@blablarg18 That is indeed how I meant it, referring solely to the volume of posts. I probably should've chosen my words with more sensitivity but you know that's not how we do things.

It makes sense for people to prefer the comfort of like-minded individuals over infuriating arguments, and I'm pretty sure that effect happens on both sides. I don't mean to imply that anyone is at fault for it. Seems natural for things to play out that way. But I also think it's something we should try to overcome or we might be doomed to live in this polarized clown world nightmare forever.

Not at all @jaroonn. I'm just a little surprised to see an uptown citizen stoop to the trailer park level of behavior they claim us to be at. Some would call that hypocrisy.

Sparring aside... I know this corner of GT is dominated by a few conservative-leaning people, but I would honestly love to have people with opposing views chime in. Echo chambers suck and I bet you could offer some really interesting perspectives. So if you ever see me saying something you think is dumb and you feel like telling me why... I'd be delighted. Maybe I'll walk away with something I hadn't thought of before.

@blittle As I said it was purely a guess. I have no reason to believe this is actually the case. It just seems more plausible to me than homophobes doing this just to get under our skin. Given how many activists there are online pushing the notion that being gay has nothing to do with genitals (to accommodate those who identify as the opposite sex but haven't had surgery), I would not be surprised if some of that finds its way here. Some people really want to normalize that penis-in-vagina sex is gay sex too. Their entire identity depends on it.

As I recall qBittorrent became popular as it was one of the first complete torrent clients built on the mode modern libtorrent, which enabled higher performance and stability (especially when dealing with lots of torrents). It's still regarded by many as one of the best choices.

µTorrent on the other hand suffered a major PR disaster when they started putting more and more advertising bloat in their software and eventually even malware. Unsurprisingly a lot of users fled.

@jaroonn I wish I could say the same about your contribution to it. Unfortunately slinging an insult by implying that only people who live in trailer parks hold these views is neither inspiring nor discourse.

@raphjd Kinda goes to show that the words they use to describe themselves mean nothing. I bet they never even acknowledged that they made a complete 180 on it, or provided a justification or rationale for doing so. They probably just acted like this is what they always believed.

I'm not from the US so my knowledge of its history is limited, but didn't they do the same thing with slavery? I.e. first oppose its abolition, then act like they've always been the ones who fought for the oppressed and the other side were the evil bigots? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I wonder if this has something to do with the redefinition of the word gay. Since we now live in a world where people believe you can be female and gay (or male and lesbian) provided you identify that way, maybe some people are making an effort to oppose the same-sex paradigm of gay porn?

This is just a guess of course. It could be something else entirely.

The people we call "liberals" today simply write their own press releases. They select their words not based on what would be an accurate descriptor but based on how they want to be perceived. It's all about manipulating the population to go along with their agenda (i.e. propaganda). They're not even shy about it... Their "scholars" (read: ideologues) openly admit that such manipulation is not only excusable by the goodness of their goals, it's also incumbent on any "good person" to do this in order to help steer public opinion in the "right direction".

Just to name a few examples...

"Anti-racism" means racism (and anti-fascism means fascism).
"Gender-affirming care" means "mutilating and sterilizing vulnerable and confused people for profit".
"Welfare" means "we force you to hand over your money so we can redistribute it to those we deem more deserving", because who wouldn't want more welfare? (same goes for "social security")
"Diversity and inclusion" means "less white men and everyone must see things our way".
"Equity" means "discrimination based on immutable characteristics".
"Safe space" means "only those who agree with us are welcome".
"Personal truth" means "an uncontestable falsehood you refuse to stop believing in".
"Green" typically means "more harmful to the environment".

And so on... Nearly every buzzword they popularize is used to refer to pretty much the exact opposite of what the word actually means.

If you ask me it's inaccurate to view the group that today calls itself liberals as being the same group that used to fight for freedom, having since gone astray. It's actually the same close-minded group we used to call fascists/racists/intolerant/etc, they've just rebranded themselves to be more appealing. Or to put it another way: they hijacked the good reputation earned by old-school liberals to make themselves seem like the good guys. Not unlike how the modern trans movement piggybacked on the positive public image of the gay rights movement.

Not sure why but the problem appears to be the dash in 3-5. If you replace it with a space the result does show up, even without quotes.
