I agree about the search term but the other important fact is Google! In "rich countries" gay newbies will surely use the general search words "gay porn" but not on Google! If you take a look around you now ten years old know about torrent and sites for torrent. Those youngs won't count in the study because they already use a specialized site. :blownose:
I realize this is a tad late/old but just now returned. How do you think they found those specialized sites in the first place no matter where they are? Google… Especially curious/closeted ones that don't have any open gay relationships to find out that way. I've used other torrent sites, but I chose to use Google to find this site and another one with very similar terms to the "study" while at the same time NOT being closeted. I'm not saying it's a perfect study or representation, but I still think it has potential merit and is not surprising in the least.
It has been said but most asian countries don't use Google, they've got their own sites for research on the net. And there are others like yahoo search or seek which don't count here because this study only used google as a reference. Therefore those countries aren't the ones that watch the most gay porn, they are the ones that watch it the most through google. In that case, either it has to be renamed or it doesn't count as a study. It's like doing a survey on LGBT rights in the USA while asking only a gender and not the other : it would become too specific to be called a LGBT survey
