In order to have all discussion on the Freeleech system in one place, this topic has been created into which will be merged other topics.

The idea of our Freeleech is not that much to buy Freeleech for "me" (alone) to download it cheap(er) than using seed bonus points for upload credit, but to make it free for all members to download.

You may sponsor one torrent to be free, so will do others with other torrents you like. Think community dynamics.

The tracker backend does not allow to control Freeleech for individual peers. It is free for all or for nobody. That make it impossible for example to let a torrent started downloading while Freeleech by a member, letting fully free download once the Freeleech time is over. That is a know system limitation.

The current rate to make a torrent freeleech got both a file size and Freeleech duration component. However as it is the product of both, new small torrents needing short durations to complete are very cheap (a few SBP) and big old awfully expensive (above 10000 SBP needed).

I've made a proposal to adjust the above by using a kind of sum of size and duration and to introduce an age based reduction.

Other ideas are an auto promotion once a torrent is made Freeleech and a reduction of the rate for the original torrent uploader.

Not sure what will be implemented, though. however for sure we need the current implementation to learn and improve from it.

It is not at all sure that this is related to the Freeleech, but can't excluded either. There were done other changes to the pages about the same time frame.

To note that for example for me the pages show up most time with the usual delay.

That is relatively easy …

The basic FAQ way:
If you have copied the data file into the default download folder before you reload the torrent into your torrent client programme, the programme will find it there. You may need to run a recheck.

The µTorrent/BitTorrent pointing to any other location way:
1/ Load the torrent and don't start it!
2/ Click with the right mouse button on the torrent in µTorrent's list and select "Advanced" > "Set Download Location…" > navigate to the file location and confirm (Save)
3/ Right mouse button click on the torrent in µ/BitTorrent's list and select "Force re-check". The torrent should check to 100% and µTorrent displaying "Finished" instead of "Stopped" in the status column.
4/ Start the torrent, it shall go to "Seeding" or at least to "Queued seeding"

or
1/ Load the torrent, µTorrent/BitTorrent will show a small window with the target download location. Click there the ". . ." button.
2/ Then navigate to the file location and confirm (Save). Don't start the Torrent.
3/ Right mouse button click on the torrent in µ/BitTorrent's list and select "Force re-check". The torrent should check to 100% and µTorrent displaying "Finished" instead of "Stopped" in the status column.
4/ Start the torrent, it shall go to "Seeding" or at least to "Queued seeding"

Both ways are equal.

[off-topic]Try Freeleech torrents you like and which got enough remaining Freeleech duration that you can finish their download. They can only improve the share ratio for download rights taken members. ;)[/off-topic]

The short version is:
1/ Load the torrent and don't start it!

b) Right mouse button click on the file and select the "Relocate…" function in the list (last item)
c) Navigate to the file, select it and confirm "Save" or "OK"
d) Force a recheck and once checked to 100% start the torrent

2/ Recommendable if a multiple file torrent:
a) Delete the torrent, but not the data files, from µTorrent's/BitTorrent's file list
b) Go to the torrent description page on GayTorrent.ru, click "Download" and open with µTorrent/BitTorrent
c ) When µTorrent/BiTorrent opens the torrent, it shall show a small window to confirm the download location. There click the ". . ." button
d) Navigate to the file, respectively folder, from which the torrent has been created, select it and confirm "Save" or "OK"
e) Force a recheck and once checked to 100% start the torrent

3/ If above fails, remove the torrent from µTorrent/BitTorrent and load it again.

@ agis: then try qBittorrent, one of our Staff members with Kbuntu is happy with it.

We will promote some old, still well seed torrents and make them Freeleech. However at the moment it is manual work and therefore irregular.

The pricing is as well under review.

I've tried both torrents and see in my µTorrent the same number of peers than on the site. On both the download was immediate with an excellent download rate, though my µTorrent is set to be not connectible.

Therefore a short Freeleech duration would have well been sufficient.

Can you tell me what you seed as tracker message next to the tracker announce URL under the "Tracker" tab in the lower µTorrent window?

Is your torrent client programme showing the number of peers available as seeder and leecher for torrents from GayTorrent.ru?

(NB.: Not knowing which programme you use, I assume you use µTorrent/BitTorrent like the large majority)

I can not answer for the IPv6, but:

Our tracker backend does accept a limited amount of multiple connections from the same IP. So it is possible to leech and seed

• using a proxy server / VPN service like GT Guard (see the link next to the "Download" button the torrent description pages")
• using a shared Seed Box

However it is not possible to use a proxy Server / VPN service to login to GayTorrent.ru.

This was said quite some time ago in the depths of the Forum by another moderator.

What do you call the tracker? Our site displays what our tracker sees as peers and that should be what you see in Transmission as available peers (not connected peers).[/off-topic]

You mix things up:

A/ We use the port 2710 for our tracker, because the standard ports are often blocked by Internet Service Providers. That is in the interest of the users here.

B/ The port forwarding you need to set-up in your router/modem has nothing to do with the port 2710 we use for our tracker!

C/ The port you need to forward for incoming connections (or use UPnP / NAT-PMT in both torrent client programme and router/modem) is the port you set-up in your torrent clients programmes connection settings. You are free to use the Bit Torrent standard ports, on the risk to be blocked by your ISP.

Gay-Torrents.net - ratiofree, free registration
ourGTN.org  - ratiofree, invitation only
Gay-Area.org - ratio requirement, invitation only , but seems to be open right now (aka Gay-Torrents.org)

Pornlab.net - ratio requirement, general porn tracker with a large gay section. Russian pages (use translation tools to register, torrent lists are English)

As far as I could see, you vote no category at all … do not confuse that with the rating vote. Category voting credit is immediately given after voting.

Yes, once it got approved to be a valid picture (size, resolution, related to the torrent, …), you get one point for each picture.

You can as well vote categories on completed torrents. Each torrent for which you voted, gives one seed bonus point, too.

Finally since yesterday there are the Freeleech torrents. You get them without download counting (as long as they stay freeleech) and upload counts.
