    • RE: Way to Toggle Off A Category?

The best way I know is to click the "Set all" button and then click the boxes of the "Fetish" and "Scat" categories to deselect them.

You could do similar in your Profile Settings (select all but these two), but that flaws the search, because it will overwrite any selection made in the search.

    • RE: Questions about Bonus Points

Actually the term 'Anonymous' is wrong here. The uploader user ID is known, but kept 'Private', which would be the correct term.

When you give points, the uploader will get all the points. If the account with that user ID is deleted, they are deducted from your points, shown at that torrent with your than you, but go nowhere, i.e. the amount of points in circulation is reduced, making them more value.

Yes, the leaked passkey has effected your share ratio. That is why I had disabled the download rights to stop further downloads.
Unfortunately there is no track of history details, so it can't be sorted what was others' downloads with your passkey and what yours.

    • RE: Leeching on old torrents

That confirms my suspicion, your passkey leaked. I don't think that YOU did something wrong.

Over 2015 and this year, I had to treat only perhaps a handful of passkey leaked cases. I don't know about other moderators. Common to them is that all members concerned were (are) BitComet users.

Personally I suspect the Torrent Share function of BitComet to leak sometimes torrents it shouldn't share. BitComet says "Private" torrents aren't shared through its Torrent Share. If that is true, it does not more than a DHT torrent index.

All torrents from GayTorrent.ru are private and BitComet's Torrent Share should not share them, if it works as said.

Remains the question, why all leaked passkeys I was faced with concern BitComet users …?
      (This is a rethoric question).

Anyway here what you should do:
      a) Disable Torrent share, or if you use this function to get torrents, disable the "Add to Torrent Share when opening .torrent" option  and disable all shares on GayTorrent.ru torrents in BitComets (and add to Torrent Share manually torrents which are from public trackers only in future).

      b) Reset your Passkey in the Profile settings at GayTorrent.ru. This will make all your torrents (including leaked) stopping from working.
You then need to download a .torrent file (not the data files shared with that torrent) from GayTorrent.ru to generate a new passkey. You can then copy the tracker URL from that torrent into the properties of all your GayTorrent.ru torrents, especially seeding. Alternatively i/o changing the tracker URL in the properties, you can re-download the .torrent files and add them to BitComet. BitComet should claim they are already loaded and ask if to add the tracker URL, say yes. Don't redownload the data, if that starts, something went wrong. Stop immediately the torrent.

      c) Once you are done with a) and b). Post here, so your download rights get re-enabled  🙂

That site, sextorrents.ru, had been closed 4 years ago, beginning of March 2012.

Now straight porn is allowed here, to see it, you need to enable the straight categories in you Profile Settings.

    • RE: How do I upload faster?

If with "… various sites ..." the torrents use public trackers or DHT, uploading data will be easy, because many peers will stop as soon as they got the files (no ratio, no Hit&Run rules). then those keeping on, will face a lot of demand.

"There are some mechanics, where if you have seeders with more bandwidth capabilities, they are almost always going to get the upload over the guy with a lesser connection." Yes, that is the way the bit torrent protocol works.

"Makes me feel that one some sites the ratio system is flawed.  Someone can always have their client going, but still have a low ratio."
Here it is important that your torrent client is connectible, because if not, downloading peers will download from those seeding which are connectible.

Then a "flaw" can be that members with high ratio and buffer don't download to even further increase their share ratio, not getting that a high ratio isn't a good purpose on its own. Looking to your completed downloads, the issue is that there are no downloading peers ...

However, there are some which haven't got any seeding peer. (Re)Seeding those would give you good chance to do get upload once a member actually starts downloading one. Currently these won't appear with the standard search option to show only 'active'.

    • RE: Regarding wrong category on a torrent

Well, in your list are some items which make the upload worth a report:

      1. mislabeled torrents
      5. when people upconvert videos of lower quality make the file size huge but having the same quality as it's smaller file size counterpart.
      6. when people upload files without sound and don't note it in the description
      9. studio films being listed under amateur and homemade

A few remarks to other points:
"2. not bothering to make sure the directory or file name matches the torrent file name"
The uploader might prefer not to rename the original file/folder to keep cross seeding easier

"4. .flv/.wmv/.avi/.webm …. basically any filetype other than .mov or .mp4 .... is it so hard to convert them before sharing"
This would put an extra burden on uploaders. Converting means many times degrading, unless a pure stream copy into another container is made (aka remuxing).

"9. studio films being listed under amateur and homemade"
Amateur is for studio made production with (pretended) amateur / first time models. Homemade is the category for pure non-commercial productions.

No it doesn't get lower. Everything is explained on the page which opens if you click on your share ratio below the blue menu band > https://www.gaytorrent.ru/rationator.php

    • RE: Is It TRUE?!?!?!

Even with a 'big pipe' (~70 Mbits up) I've usually got only about 30% over the file size in the initial seed phase.

Unless you've got the files on another (public) place and someone jumps on it during initial seed, the uploader will always get at least the file size as upload and that without download. In addition, the as 'Thank You!' gifted seed bonus points go exclusively to the uploader, not any other seeder.

It is as well to be noted that seedbox user have limited storage size on their seedboxes (usually a few 100 GBytes) and will have to stop seeding rather early, or prefer seeding other new torrents with more downloading peers, thus higher upload. This means the time of 'small pipe' members comes (months) later, when they are left as one of the few seeds (or only) and there are sporadic downloads. We need such 'perma seeding' members, so that the library remains available.

    • RE: Question about invite

You need to be Power User to invite and exchange points against invites. When a member is promoted the first time to Power User, he gets 4 free invites.

Those invites are only useful when the site requires Bitcoin or invitations to signup, i.e. isn't open signup. When the site is open signup, referrer link invitations are usually working, too.

    • RE: Regarding wrong category on a torrent

Wrong sub-categories most likely result from members not being careful with their votes.

The "system" does not encourage wrong votes by giving points for voting, not for the number of categories voted. Only relevant categories should be voted for and even if that means to vote for a single category which is the main category.

Wrong sub-categories can and should be reported (or written to the Helpdesk), similar to wrong main categories. Only then staff here will become aware and take corrective actions.

Please don't leave comments to a torrent about wrong categories, that makes just extra work to remove the comment once the wrong categories are corrected.

    • RE: Take a look at this great video.. and notice the size. 1/9 size & same quality

The original was apparently a NTSC DVD and therefore [email protected] (not 480p), which makes an important difference as you'll see more below.

Certainly the MPEG-2 codec of the DVD standard dates back and there are more efficient for file size available since some years (e.g. the MPEG-4 AVC used in your encoding, which can be about 2x smaller file sizes at similar quality). However you have to keep in mind that every step of decoding / re-encoding will result in a loss of quality. Sometimes it is not perceivable and then called transparent, but that can depend a lot on the decoding, display device (definition, size, scaling) and viewing distance. See wikipedia for more about that.

In many cases, especially older works, the DVD releases offer the best available quality, abide at large file sizes and the preferable source to create smaller versions.

      Now to your encoding…
There is an visible very obvious error made during encoding: The interlaced DVD source video wasn't de-interlaced, which result in comb structures appearing at every scene with horizontal movement.

The picture has a less visible, but still perceptible loss of details. It is easy spot that for example in the structure of the pavement when comparing both picture attached.

The frame rate is 30 fps, but seen the source, it should have 29.97 fps. So either the playing time of your encoding is shorter, or worse, a frame rate conversion was done, which usually results in jagging while panning.

Finally the audio bit rate is very low. Might be good enough for a porn video like this, but wouldn't for a themed movie, especially when reproduced via a good home cinema sound equipment.

Here a screen capture from the DVD:

and for comparison, from your version:
