If the torrent is removed for being a duplicate, the user receives a PM asking them to keep seeding the torrent until it reads "unregistered torrent". This is to allow any users who may be currently downloading the torrent to finish doing so, while preventing any new users from beginning the download.
The other reason they often disappear is due to DMCA requests. When this happens, again, the user is notified by PM to advise them of which torrent was removed, and that it was removed due to a DMCA request. In this type of case, the torrent is removed immediately, even if there are other users downloading the torrent.
In both cases, the user is notified to tell them that their torrent has been or will be taken down, and the reason why it is being taken down. So yes… In either event, the uploader is made aware of the situation, whatever it may be.
Sorry I should have clarified, when I say warning I mean a penalty warning i.e Don't do it again…..
