    • BeACCOUNT WARNED FOR MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS! {SOLVED}

With our new and improved Dupe Warrior WARRIORS in play,
many members are finding their accounts now WARNED,
      for having multiple accounts.

Was the WARNING PM you received confusing?

Try THIS method / explanation, below:

Having multiple accounts (more than ONE account on a PC or device) is not
      allowed, by the rules.

You have already received a message advising you how to resolve your problem.

As explained in that message, you can resolve the situation yourself, by
deleting each extra account, one at a time, then lastly, reactivating the
rights on the ONE account you wish to keep.

ALL of your account's upload and download statistics will be merged into the
account you choose to keep. In order for you to be able to retain your lists of
torrents you have uploaded and downloaded... we strongly advise you to keep the
old account with the most torrents.

Please copy these instructions off to a new text document on your PC,
so you don't lose these instructions.

      1. First delete ALL your extra accounts, one at a time,
by LOGGING IN to the extra account, then running
        THIS SCRIPT:>>> https://www.gaytorrent.ru/delacct.php
...then continue, and repeat this, until ALL the extra accounts are closed.

      2. LASTLY, log into the account you wish to keep, then reactivate it by running
        THIS SCRIPT:>>>> https://www.gaytorrent.ru/reactivate.php

If you have problems following these instructions, please send a PM to Kalayaan,
one of our Global Moderator at this address:
      https://www.gaytor.rent/sendmessage.php?receiver=893424

Within your PM, send him the name of the account you wish to KEEP, and he will
resolve your multiple accounts violation for you, as well as remove the warned
status from the one remaining account.

      Best Regards,
      GTRU Staff

    • Port Forwarding MINI-Tutorial (updated 11/13/2017)

Hi, I created this short Port Forwarding topic, to add the link to this MINI-Tutorial to my standard collection of tips to help members maintain their ratio…

Since NOT having Port Forwarding achieved can severely impact both the ability to upload as well as download (quicker than your competition here {and start seeding new videos QUICKLY, while POPULAR!}) I thought it would be appropriate to include it there... And maybe be of help to our members, in general, here on the forum... here goes:

      ===============================================================================================
For the best results (and best ratio) here, check to see that you have port forwarding set up properly.

Your computer is much more difficult to "see" on the Internet (IE your downloads can be painfully slow, and members have a harder time uploading to, or downloading from your computer), if your torrent client port is NOT being forwarded.

You can test to see if the port your torrent client is using is proper forwarded by using this web tool:
      http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/
You can find your torrent client port number, by using the Options / Preferences menus of your Torrent Client (uTorrent, Vuze, etc.)

If the web tool confirms that your Torrent Client port is forwarded… You're done!! Relax about this issue, no need to read further.

Port forwarding may be achieved by UPnP, or manually.

      Port Forwarding via UPnP:
See https://www.google.com/search?q=port+forwarding+via+UPnP for an explanation and more information on UPnP port forwarding. (Note that the internal setup configuration of your DSL modem must have the "Enable UPnP" option turned on… you'll need the username / password for the DSL modem, and possibly the manual for that... to get into the internal menu configurations, to find that option, usually in the Advanced Settings menus...)

In the example of uTorrent preferences, click Options, Preferences, choose "Connection" and CHECK the boxes for:

      1. Enable UPnP port mapping
      2. Enable NAT-PMP port mapping
      3. Add Windows Firewall exception
....and UNCHECK Randomize port each start.

This method all gets finished up with clicking the OK button in that window, then shutting the computer down, rebooting the DSL modem, then when the modem is finished booting... restarting your computer.

Once everything's rebooted... you can visit port-checking sites... such as:
      http://canyouseeme.org/
…to confirm that the port you've specified for uTorrent is, in fact, "open".

      Manual Port Forwarding:
To set up the port forwarding MANUALLY in your DSL or cable modem or router… you'll need the user name and password to access the internal configurations of your router or DSL modem.

Talk to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to obtain these (user name & password).

You MAY need to download the full manual for your router or modem, off the Internet (search via make and model number) to be able to understand and figure out just WHAT menu accesses Port Forwarding, and how to set the parameters properly.

You can find what port your torrent client uses within its settings. Once you have noted this number, please be sure that the "randomize" option is NOT checked. Lastly, once you know what port number needs to be forwarded, and you know your computer's IP address, you can then forward that port both in TCP and UDP from your router to your computer.

The default port number for Transmission is 51413.

Consult your ISP tech help, or employ the services of a private computer consultant, if you need further help with port forwarding.

      Good Luck!
      Pawpcorn

edited Nov 13, 2017 to add to points (to include BOTH TCP and UDP in the forwarded port, and the default Transmission port) thanks to MrMazda.
edited Aug 28, 2017 to change to a different Internet port forwarding site, since the old one wasn't responding, at least today…

    • WHERE is the WISHLIST???….. GTRU's WISHLIST, fully explained:

Almost daily, members write the helpdesk with this question… WHERE is the Wishlist? ~or~ How do I see my Wishlist?

And HERE'S the answer, along with a full explanation of GTRU's form of a "Wishlist"  :blind:

The "Wishlist" is sort of a marking-for-later-download… (when ratio permits, for example)

Make sure your browser window width is set to be at least 1200 pixels wide.

When you search for torrents, https://www.gaytorrent.ru/browse.php
… then when you see a torrent that you want to mark for later decision or further research or later download, etc, click on the words "Wish List", on the far right of the listing. The words "Wish List" will change to yellow.

Similarly, now, with the latest website update, every torrent that you view now has a "Wishlist" button next to the "Download" button, at screen top.
Clicking that button will make the star fill in solid.

Either of these action set the "Wishlist" flag on that torrent, linked with your profile.

Then, any time later on, when you go to the search function again...
      https://www.gaytorrent.ru/browse.php

On wishlist only"  then click the Search / Refresh" button, you will see all the torrents you'd previously marked to be on your personal "Wish List"

      Search example:   https://www.gaytorrent.ru/browse.php?infn=1&inbook=1

You can, at any time, click on the words "Wish List" in the search window (or the Wishlist button in the torrent presentation) a second time, to remove the torrent from your Wish List.

In addition, downloaded "Wishlist" torrents are automatically removed from your "Wishlist"once you've downloaded them.

    • RE: Vuze and Seeding (not seeding that is)

      That's all correct.

Our tracker server DOES NOT HAVE SCRAPE ENABLED.

What this means is if you persist in wishing to use Vuze, you'll have to right-click on EVERY torrent… and select FORCE SEED, in order to get around the issue you accurately described.

We recommend uTorrent Classic, which doesn't have any problems with our server, available here:

    • NEW TIME LIMIT NOW IMPOSED, PRIOR TO NEW MEMBER PERMISSION TO SEND MESSAGES!

Due to the ability to send messages being abused by some
ill-intentioned FORMER (NOW BANNED) members figuring out a way
to send MASS NUMBERS of SPAM PMs (inviting them to join various PAID porn sites…)
to ALL our members, causing a general panic amongst our membership, while
creating a HUGE HEADACHE for staff to try and resolve...

The site owner recently put a 6 month waiting period on ALL new members,
before new members are allowed to send PMs (except to staff).

One minor work-around, if you wish to send a member a message prior to
this 6 month waiting period expiring... is to leave a comment on one of
that member's uploads. The DOWNSIDE is that notice of you having left a
torrent comment is sent to ALL the previous downloaders of that torrent...
as well as to the original uploader... so don't abuse this right to leave torrent
comments, lest you end up getting your account WARNED for abuse of excessive
and pointless torrent comments, and possibly banned.

IE Use this "work-around" method sparingly, if at all.

    • Searching for Duplicates Advice (prior to Uploading, or to receive bonus points)

Searching for Duplicates Advice (prior to Uploading, or to receive bonus points)

There's an excellent torrent search advisory at this location, halfway down the page: https://www.gaytorrent.ru/uploadguide.php

HINT: for a long complicated name use only the relevant parts to the name. Example: if the video is named "Cobra Austin's Beach Buddies Bareback.mp4", use only "Beach Buddies" (without the quotation marks) in your search.

Search ALL categories, since the original may be in a different category than you expect.

While searching, click "including dead" Torrents too, since the duplicate may not be seeding at the current time, but could start seeding later.

You should probably ALSO set the search order to Sort By "Size" but be aware that this Size is the total sum of all the files (including picture sets) that are included in the torrent.

If you find a torrent that you suspect may be a duplicate, look at the file size, and the "NUM FILES".

If it shows just ONE file, then check the "SIZE" to see if it's the same size as the other file.

If there is MORE than ONE file in the torrent, then click the "[see full list]" link below "NUM FILES" to expand the file list, and look to see if the main video file size is the same size as the other file.

    • Freeleech Torrents... Explained.

Freeleech torrents are a pretty simple affair, with a "reward" not so well defined, really…

If a member has spare bonus points (ie the member has a great ratio, and doesn't need to use the bonus points to trade in for upload credit, to improve his ratio) he can use the bonus points to make any torrent older than a week into a freeleech torrent.

Whoever is seeding that torrent, from that point on, would be earning upload credit, same as the normal situation.

While the torrent remains a freeleech torrent, downloading of that torrent does not count against a member's ratio (no download debit is applied, for that freeleech torrent).

After the freeleech period of the torrent expires, however, the {continued} download then counts against a member's ratio, just as normal.

I see this action of a member making a torrent freeleech more as a "gift", as I can't really see how to make this "cost effective", for a member, where they would earn as much upload credit, for making a torrent freeleech, as it "cost" to have made it freeleech, in the first place.

One possible exception to this might be... where you were the ONLY seeder of a certain torrent... and you decided to make it freeleech... then the torrent would become very popular very quickly, and as long as you happened to remain the sole seeder of that torrent... yes, you'd be earning ALL of the upload credit.

      Hope this helps!

    • HOW TO DOWNLOAD VIDEOS (for new members!)

The idea here is that you DON'T download a videos from GTru.

You only download a tiny .torrent file, that contains the information needed for members to be able to share a video that remains on THEIR computer, with other members, who will download THEIR video, via the Internet. After you download this .torrent file, your torrent program will open the .torrent file, and then it will download the entire video (or collection of videos) from THEIR computer to YOUR computer.

You will need to download and install a torrent client program on your computer to be able to create this torrent file, and continue from there.

For PC, we recommend uTorrent CLASSIC; look here: https://community.gaytorrent.ru/topic/9055/utorrent-how-to-downgrade-or-fresh-install-classic-version-2-2-1-build-25302
