    • RE: Seeding stops as soon as file is fully downloaded, despite many leechers

This could also be a sign of a port forwarding issue. You need to ensure that the port that your torrent client uses (which I can PM you with if needed since it's listed in your profile) is forwarded from your router through to your computer. Most home network setups use a single router to bring together all of your devices within your home, and mask them all behind a single internet connection. The problem with this is that if you do not have the correct port forwarded both in TCP and in UDP, your router does not know which device to forward the packet to, and thus the connection gets dropped.

When you're downloading the torrent on the other hand, you establish an outbound connection to the other peers that you're downloading from, and in turn can send upload traffic through the return paths from that connection. Sending data in this manner does NOT require any special port forwarding, as the port is already open through the active connection. Once you stop downloading content, there is no longer an active connection that you've established with those other peers, and thus the seeding stops.

      Just a thought…

    • DMCA Takedowns

For the longest time, I have heard rumors about DMCA notices being given to the site that are totally fictitious, are submitted out of spite, or are just outright wrong. For the longest time, I didn't want to believe this, however recently, something has happened that has left me wondering how legitimate the DMCA process really is.

Get this… The other day, I received a DMCA takedown notice FOR MY OWN PRIVATE VIDEO!!! That's right!!! A PRIVATE HOME VIDEO that I MADE MYSELF was the target of a DMCA takedown request. Imagine that... Apparently, my own private videos are copyright of some studio? SHIT!! When did that happen?! When do I get paid for whatever studio it was that had my video taken down for having apparently purchased the rights to my video?

Now I'm calling out to other users... Has anyone else received a DMCA takedown for THEIR OWN VIDEO?

It was a PRIVATE HOME VIDEO of myself, that I had filmed myself, which I subsequently published myself as the creator of the video... I just don't understand this process anymore. I had heard that fisting videos of all sorts were being taken down, and the other day, I finally got proof of that... Imagine that... My own video that I created myself and posted myself being taken down by DMCA... It really makes me question how legitimate this process is, or if it's just a cash grab for someone...

    • RE: A question about seeding…

There are a few factors to consider… They are...

      1. Your torrent client only updates with the tracker once every 30 minutes. For this reason, you may notice some delay in your stats updating.

      2. Your torrent client will also include your overhead traffic in the total counts, which sometimes will leave a slight variance between what your torrent client reads and what you will see on the tracker.

      3. The stats on the tracker in your profile are per session. This means that if you stop the torrent then restart it again for any reason, the stat count on your profile page will be reset to zero. That being said though, all amounts transferred DO count towards your total overall ratio. If you have stopped then started a torrent, this will account for the difference, as your torrent client will count everything since the day that it was added to your torrent client.

    • RE: Is it time for a new category?

It has been discussed in the past, however as I recall, nothing ever came of it. As I recall though, our most popular option was to rename "Shemale" to "Transgender" so that it covers all aspects of the category, rather than just a stereotypical label that may or may not necessarily apply to every video in said category.

    • RE: Access my past downloads

You do not seem to have downloaded more than 250 torrents, so it would appear that the list in your profile of completed torrents is as complete is it possibly can be. The only possible exception to what may be missing is any torrents that were removed either because they were a duplicate, or were subsequently subjected to a valid DMCA removal request.

You can find this list by clicking on [you] in the top left corner of the page, then by scrolling down towards the bottom of the page and clicking on "Show Completed Torrents".

    • RE: Can't download, says I have too many torrents?

When you're in a low ratio status, the system will only allow you to download two torrents at a time. This is to try to prevent you from digging your ratio hole so deep that you cannot recover.

I would suggest trying some freeleech torrents to improve your ratio. Downloading any other torrent will result in your ratio dropping even farther than it already has.

    • RE: Uploaded - uTorrent vs Site stats

The session stats that you see in your profile are the stats since the torrent was started. As soon as you stop the torrent for any reason, the stats on your profile are reset to zero.

Also, uTorrent shows the stats including all of the overhead traffic, which sometimes results in a slightly different total reading per session. The value you will find in uTorrent will be the calculation of the total traffic since the torrent was added to uTorrent, even if the torrent is stopped and restarted.

    • RE: Suggestions on Ratio?

      @Femalite:

      @MrMazda:

Just a side-note… You received a low ratio warning and continued to download torrent after torrent after torrent like it was going out of style, then you complain that you downloaded so much that you dug yourself a 22 GB hole?

We expect all users to follow the same standards, and it is certainly not our fault if you do not listen to the advice you are given, and heed the warning that you need to get your ratio back up before you keep downloading more.

It would almost seem like you expect to just freeleech everything for free, without any expectation of sharing any content back in return.

      1. I never complained?
      2. I never participated in this thread?
      3. How much I upload/download is ultimately irrelevant provided I stick within the rules.

This is why I dislike participating in communities… As despite trying to add something constructive to a discussion... Someone has to have a whinge about it elsewhere.

If you never participated in the forum thread, then why are you commenting on it now about how you don't participate because "someone has to have a whinge about it somewhere"?

That comment was obviously NOT directed at you, but rather the user that I was replying to. Why suddenly make this about you? Are you trying to get attention? If so, there are much better ways…

    • RE: Tumblr help

I do know the coding that would be required, but the problem is that said coding must go either into the body tag itself, or into an embedded CSS that is referred to, usually in the document head. Adding the no scroll tags outside of those parameters will only yield the desired result when the content is either in a frame, or is in a text box within the page itself. 😞

The only other possibility would be to define the object within a frame, but that can get really complex and really tricky real quick. I'm not sure if there'd be a way to import that into Tumblr though…

    • RE: Do I really need a VPN?

I would have to disagree with you on this one Frederick. I have NEVER had a problem with slow speeds on a VPN. Sure, there is a TINY amount of less from the overhead created from the encryption, however from my experience, this loss is negligible at best.

Also, there is another HUGE benefit to using a VPN, most especially in the United States. Trum has done away with a few safeguards, which has allowed American ISP's and copyright trolls to bypass the normal subpoena process by purchasing your browsing history direct from your ISP (among a few other ways he has enabled). Not using a VPN leaves you open to all kinds of spying. Sure, if you're not doing anything illegal, you've got nothing to worry about in theory, but the question then becomes at what point will the government stop with their spying? Also, there's the whole question of whether or not sacrificing your privacy is really a good thing, or if it opens the door to a number of potential downfalls later on down the line.

Also, what you're referring to is a deep-trace, which required the use of at least two different VPN stations to tunnel through. The chances of this happening over a copyright claim are virtually nonexistent. So… If you're just looking for the added browsing privacy, and/or you're looking for a great way to be able to avoid copyright trolls, a VPN would be the way to go, as long as you can find one that will fit your needs, and does NOT log connection information. This will keep that kind of thing at bay by imposing an impassable road block more or less to that kind of thing. By the time they even could THINK about getting around the first layer, you'd be long gone.... We're talking about downloading questionable content from a copyright perspective here... Not hacking the Pentagon  :funny2: :funny2: :funny2:

    • RE: Wrong picture by another

Generally, you can get a faster response for things like this using either the Helpdesk or Report button at the bottom of the torrent info page. If I knew which torrent it was in particular, I could adjust this for you, no problem. There are many torrents in your profile in the last few days.

    • RE: Torrent shows men who intentionally contaminate with HIV. This should be banned

While Treasure Island Media content is often viewed as highly controversial, you would be surprised to find that there is actually a rather large group of individuals who eroticize the transmission of HIV. Now, with this in mind, understand that everyone has a right to choose what is right for them. If their decisions and actions do not affect anyone else, then I fail to understand where the problem is.

I will admit, having contracted HIV myself through non-disclosure myself, and subsequently, having been wrongfully accused of non-disclosure, I have some very strong views with regards to the law. First, I need to point out that the activities in question were performed are only legally classified as criminal when two main conditions have been met:

      1. Disclosure of HIV status did not occur PRIOR to the sexual acts taking place

      and

      1. Had disclosure occurred, consent would not have been given to engage in those sexual acts

In this case, not only did disclosure occur, but by a conscious decision that the performers in question made was made specifically BECAUSE they are HIV+. So in the context of the law, no… This does NOT constitute criminal activity. Now... With that being said, having been wrongfully accused of non-disclosure, I am a strong believer that the criminal courts should NOT get involved with this kind of thing because far too often, the allegations are made out of spite, and the life of the person living with HIV is irreparably destroyed forever (like in my case).

So... I understand that it may be controversial in nature, however, from a legal point of view, the activities depicted are NOT criminal because the acts were voluntary and consensual, and were consented to, knowing that HIV was a factor. As such, there is nothing criminal about the video, and we must respect our users's right to the freedom of choice. While this particular type of content may not be for you, we do have a large number of users who are very interested in this type of material. Other types of videos that can bring great controversy include our straight, bi, and scat categories.

It all boils down to a common ground where we kinda have to say "Well, that's not for me, but whatever floats your boat" and scroll on. Now in the event of something that does indeed involve criminal activity or is otherwise illegal, we do have policies in place for handling such matters. This video however IMHO is not one that falls into any violation.

    • RE: Disappearng Torrents

The other possibility is that some of these torrents may be getting flagged as duplicates. Generally, these torrents should be able to be downloaded to completion, but that is assuming that the uploader continues to seed the torrent to completion, as the PM instructs them to do.
