RE: Suggestions on Ratio?
Just a side-note… You received a low ratio warning and continued to download torrent after torrent after torrent like it was going out of style, then you complain that you downloaded so much that you dug yourself a 22 GB hole?
We expect all users to follow the same standards, and it is certainly not our fault if you do not listen to the advice you are given, and heed the warning that you need to get your ratio back up before you keep downloading more.
It would almost seem like you expect to just freeleech everything for free, without any expectation of sharing any content back in return.
I didn't know if this was directed at me. If it was directed at me, yes, I received a low ratio warning. I always try to be a responsible downloader and will always seed more than I can. In fact, in my uTorrent program I have it set to prioritize seeding and to seed up to x5 times before I start throttling any more downloading. I actually thought I was doing the right thing by aggressively targeting new files to seed, since the old files weren't getting me anywhere (and that means intentionally taking an immediate hit of downloading a popular file so I can immediately start seeding it). If I just wait for my existing files to seed, then … that might take who knows how long? I know I download files that aren't that popular, so waiting for those files to be leeched by other users might never happen when I would rather help seed immediately-desired torrents. Hope that makes sense. I really wouldn't want anyone to think I'm trying to freeleech without responsibly sharing any content back! As I mentioned in my original post, I make it a point to seed. And with another popular gay torrent website, I have an x2 ratio on a far larger amount of uploading / downloading and I've never had an issue with my ratio which is why I was so puzzled with my experience on GT.ru.
With that said, I'm proud to announce that in the past week, since opening my ports, I've lifted my ratio from 0.780 to 0.816 and I'll continue to lift it as high as possible.
Nope…. Definitely NOT directed at [you].

RE: Raising ratio
The only method that is of value is to upload. All the other methods will give you peanuts.
I disagree. if you dl freeleech you can get good ratio look at mine, it's fine. Last month I got a ratio of 118 on Guys go crazy torrent that was on freeleech . I got hundred of Go out of it
I would be inclined to disagree as well. I have seen users do very wonderful things with their ratio with a little freeleech help. I can't help but get the impression from your posts that you would rather just leech everything for free, and never share anything back to the community.

RE: Where to go tested ?
I'm not sure about in the USA, but in Canada, most public health offices will either have the testing available on site, or will have clinics setup for such a purpose. Most of the clinics that are separate from your public health unit will usually offer anonymous testing. If anonymous testing is available, I would recommend it for a few reasons. The biggest of all is if an insurance company sees that you're being tested for HIV (or really any STI), they will automatically categorize you as a "high risk", even if the testing is considered "standard" when screening for other things.
This way, you can still get the tests done as a good health measure, but the records are kept as an anonymous numbered test so that there is never any record of the HIV test being done, unless the result should come back HIV+. It helps give you the peace of mind of keeping on top of your health, while at the same time, not giving insurance companies (or sometimes even lawyers) any ammunition to use against you later.

RE: How old were you the First time that got testes?
I started getting regular tests when I was only 16. By the time I was 22, I stopped getting tested to see whether or not I am HIV+, because well… Once ONE HIV test comes back positive, you can't revert back to not having it... So it's kinda pointless to keep testing to determine if you have HIV in the first place, when you already know that you do.

RE: Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) in mainstream media
There is some speculation that there may be a cure in the works, but I've heard about things like this before, and although they looked promising, they fell a little flat.
Also, sadly, there are some people who are known commonly as "denialists", who do not help in any way with the advancement of research, as they deny that HIV even exists in the first place. I have questioned many of them in my experiences in dealing with them, and none of them seem to like questions that I raise. Their first problem is they refer to information that was released in the mid 1990's, and as we all know, there is a LOT that has become known since that time, which raises a number of control based questions about their study results.
So… Only time will tell where things go from here.
The funny thing is that they claim that the basic principle that we understand HIV is simply a "theory"... None of them like when I ask them if they believe in gravity, and when the answer yes, point out that even gravity by scientific definition is "just a theory". So I'll as them how they can be so willing to believe in "just a theory" when it comes to gravity, but when it comes to something else, it's "just a theory" and it "hasn't been proven"... Technically NEITHER HAS GRAVITY!! Not in an exact quantification that can be scientifically validated with hard evidence anyway... But yet, here we are with the belief that what goes up, must come down. When I ask how the "theory of gravity" is any different than the "theory of HIV" as they so delicately put it, not one of them could ever tender up an answer for me.

RE: [Q] Port Forwarding concerns.
I'm very glad that I have my back ups… Yesterday, we had another outage, which set the record for the SHORTEST outage that we've had here in the last 2 years, at only 7.5 hours of down time. I was very confused because Bell was finally getting around to installing line 4, and we were both communicating with my modems, no problem... Me through my internal WiFi network, and the Bell tech through their own internal tools. When I walked out the back door, the power was still on. Just as I walked around to the front of the house, my roomie was pulling up into the driveway, but by the time my roomie got into the back door, there was no power, but we were still interfacing with my network. I looked up at the meter just above us, and sure enough, the meter was out. If he couldn't communicate with the modems, he'd of been unable to complete the install, and I had already been waiting for FOUR MONTHS for the line to be installed because there are only 3 pairs of wires that run across the street to service my house, all three of which were in use. There are now NINE pars that run to the house, so I can still get faster and faster if I need to. :hehe:
I'm very glad I have that automatic backup system because after the sun set, the temperature dropped to -1 C outside. That didn't stop me though... Remember... The internal network, INCLUDING the underground line that leads the phone lines and network into the trailer is powered by that battery pack in the basement. So... I took the 750W inverter that I originally was using and used it to make a home made, weather proof, mobile generator. 750W isn't enough to power the 1500W electric heater, however absolutely everything else in the trailer including the stereo will run at an absolute MAX of 375W thanks to the magic of all LED lighting (except the addition of the new flood light, which uses 150W), so the whole trailer can be powered off of that 750W power source.
Now, you would think that one would have a rather limited battery life (like a few short hours) on just plain battery power, but that's where creativity comes in. I first started using my car this way the winter I spent in the house with no electricity service whatsoever in the -45 weather.
Take a 2003 Nissan Sentra XE, 1.8L DOHC L4, and a pair of jumper cables. Connect the jumper cables to the battery, then close the hood slowly so that it only latches down the safety latch, but not all the way. This will keep the engine and electrical guts from getting wet or snowed on. Then, you feed the jumper cables into the car under a door (in this case, I chose driver's door).
Then… You set the ends on the seat and make sure they won't touch each other (remember... low voltage DC is VERY forgiving), and attach the 750W inverter to the ends of the jumper cables. Start the engine so that the alternator can run the inverter and keep the battery fully charged (and will continue to do so for up to 48 hours on a single tank). Then, simply turn on the inverter and presto.... a two plug 750W weather proof generator on wheels, and all the electrical connection points that could be of any concern are all inside a self-contained weatherproof box where they cannot get wet, no matter how hard it rains or snows.....
Once done, take an extension cord and run it from the car to the back of the trailer. Unplug the custom overkill ground adapter that I created (for good reason) from the underground hydro (power) line, and plug it into the extension cord, and Bob's your uncle! I have lights, a stereo, working WiFi in the trailer, my laptop, cell phone charger, etc.
Lastly, I may not be able to run the electric heat on car power, BUT… I can power a fan no problem to circulate air, and I have a 100% MECHANICAL, match light PROPANE stove, and propane is conveniently pressure based, not electrical. Translation... I have fire and a fan, and they work quite well in lieu of electric heat to be able to keep the lights on, tunes boomin', and my internet streaming going so that I can keep partying Mamma Mia style....
I am determined to survive the mother f :cens: ing zombie apocalypse in this trailer :lolp:
It's gonna take a little more than a power outage that historically, will last anywhere from 7.5 to 33.5 hours to keep me from making contact with the outside world in high speed from my trailer, in the middle of the bush, in the middle of nowhere. It's the middle of nowhere, where NOTHING ever happens… EVER!!! I'm too damn stubborn to head to "civilization" to stay warm and/or connected to the outside world, and my momma always taught me to be independent and resourceful.

RE: Suggestions on Ratio?
From what I can see now, everything is looking good on this end. There aren't many leechers on the torrents that you're seeding, however it would appear that you are seeing upload traffic, even from those torrents. This suggests that the port forwarding that you did was indeed the problem. When port forwarding is not properly set, most often you can only upload to peers that you're actively leeching from, because otherwise, it is incredibly difficult to be able to get an incoming connection.

RE: Problem with Safari
If I'm not mistaken, Pawpcorn would be correct. There is a setting within Safari (although I do not recall where exactly) to specify the keyboard shortcuts for things. One of these settings will be the command for open in a new window, and the command for opening in incognito. If you have a traditional mouse, rather than one of the Apple branded one piece units, you may be able to accomplish the same result by clicking with the scroll wheel, rather than one of the buttons. Most browsers will acknowledge this type of click as an open in new tab/window action.

RE: Suggestions on Ratio?
From the sounds of it, you're connecting as a passive node, which can present some difficulty with our tracker. The easiest way to fix this is to ensure that your port forwarding settings are correct. The port number that your torrent client uses needs to be forwarded in both TCP and UDP from your router to your computer. Otherwise, things will not work as they should.

RE: Not sure why I'm not able to download
@asipenner: I have done a reset of a sort on your account. You should now be able to download no problem. I was not seeing any reason why the system was restricting you, so I did the reset to see if I can override that function in the system to put your account back where it belongs.

RE: Ratio rules … I do no think that it's working as it should
There is still some discussion on the subject. I'm not sure what direction it will go in though…

RE: The left hides and goes silent… they are total hypocrites!
From what I've seen in the legal systems, I too believe in Bill Cosby. In Canada, one must be "guilty beyond reasonable doubt"… Funny thing about that is that a "reasonable doubt" is defined as "an alternative explanation of the events that the evidence supports that is not outside the realm of possibility". To be more specific, no matter how likely, as long as there is a POSSIBILITY that there is another explanation (i.e. they lied for their own gain), then you MUST acquit.
The most poplar case that comes to mind is OJ Simpson. Ever heard the saying "If the glove don't fit, you must acquit!" ?
The case dates back to a reexamination of the evidence, where there was a glove that was found that was covered in OJ's wife's blood. It boiled down to whether or not the glove fit OJ's hand. Now... Understand that when you get leather wet like that, once it dries, it will shrink. More than likely, the glove did not fit his hand at the trial for this very fact, however the jury acquitted him because of the theoretical POSSIBILITY that the glove did not fit his hand because the glove was too small to begin with.
Having been on the defence side of the bench in court under damn near identical circumstances and seeing the jury wrongfully convict ME, I wholeheartedly would have forced a hung jury vote due to the glaring contradictions in testimony, despite the way they were delivered, and there would be a very OBVIOUS motive for such a lie.... MONEY!!!
So if there is no physical material evidence that can validate, you simply CANNOT prove beyond reasonable doubt that something happened when there is no material evidence that can prove or disprove the allegation, other than verbal testimony IMHO.

RE: Straight Porn Torrent
Yes…. US....
Straight, Bisexual, and Scat categories are disabled by default for a few reasons, but they can be turned on for your account. Simply click the "Profile" tab at the top of the page, then check or uncheck the category check box, then click "submit changes" at the bottom of the page. Note: These settings are DIFFERENT from the section with all the categories, which I suggest you leave blank anyway. They are a SEPARATE option near the top of the page.

RE: Do you find yourself needing more/unlimited data while torrenting?
Thanks to having an MLPPP setup, I am gifted with the graces of unlimited data. The problem with measuring usage data with MLPPP is the fact that you have to be able to measure session usage across multiple interfaces simultaneously. The result is that because this is not realistically doable, they have to make it unlimited.

RE: Getting Out from Under the Ban! A Method for Contributing to GT.RU
I asked a mod about this and this is what he PMed me,
"You get 5 points for a forum "topic" aka thread, but only if someone responds.
You get 1 point for each forum post, automatically.
Of course, you lose these points if they are removed."
This is good to know… Now I'm starting to understand where the confusion on a few other similar questions came in. I did not know of this change.

RE: [Q] Port Forwarding concerns.
I believe what you're referring to is bonded pair DSL, which is similar to MLPPP in that it uses the same basic concept, however it requires that all the lines are fed from the same SLAM off of the same CO. In my case however, it is a little different, because although all my lines are fed from the same CO, they are NOT fed off of the same SLAM because that simply wasn't possible. Instead, my ISP took advantage of the fact that Bell (the oligopoly) opened their network's last mile wiring to the wholesale market. the last-mile wiring to the home is 100% resold Bell, however the PPPoE login that you use determines what actual provider that will handle the PPPoE session. On my ISP's end, they have TWO domains that they can use for their PPPoE logins that will feed the connection to the same central routing point on their end, thus enabling MLPPP.
It's a sneaky little workaround, but it allows MLPPP to be possible by ensuring that all MLPPP logins go to the same place, instead of being randomly sent to one of several dynamic routing points across the aggregated network, even if you're not using traditional bonded pair off the same SLAM on all the lines.

RE: WHY DID IT TAKE 67 MINUTES TO GET FROM THE 31ST FLOOR TO THE 32ND FLOOR???
It really makes you wonder if it was just a conspiracy of something bigger, doesn't it?
