RE: Red up arrow? Utorrent
If you get an unregistered torrent error, yes… It is permanent. If however you get something like an HTTP 502 (bad gateway) or offline (timed out), these usually resolve themselves on their own, which would be the case for the times you've experienced the problem.

RE: Ratio difficulty
One other question if I may.
My torrent client, uTorrentPro 3.5.5, shows one torrent has an upload to download ration of 3.101 which on a file of 2.23GB gives just over 6.5GB uploaded.
My profile stats for the same torrent says 30.84MB upload. I understand that there can be a discrepancy between client and tracker, but a missing 6GB seems a trifle excessive.
This has been the case for almost one week at time of posting (6 days, 14 hours). What can I do to rectify this please?
FWIW, most torrent clients show the total stats since the torrent was added to the torrent client. The stats you see on the site on the other hand will only show the total stats for the active session. If for some reason you stop the torrent, then restart it, close your torrent client, reboot your computer, etc. these stats will reset back to zero once you start seeding the torrent again. As well, there's the fact that your torrent client only updates with the tracker once every 30 minutes per torrent. Stopping the torrent at any point can cause any data since the last tracker update to be lost.

RE: Ratio difficulty
I see that there are no leechers on the torrents you're seeding. I can help with that by sprucing things up a bit for you.
With that being said, it is also important to make sure that you have the port that your torrent client uses forwarded in your router to your computer, both in TCP and in UDP. This is a critical, yet often overlooked step, which with our tracker, will make a huge difference.

RE: Ratio difficulty
Just an FYI… That "someone" who has been going on mini freeleech binges is usually me. I look through torrents at random and look for ones that meet certain criteria to be able to help bring them back to life before they die. This is often a much needed boost for one or more users, as a lot of the torrents are being seeded by people who need the ratio boost, however there are no leechers downloading their torrents, and therefore, no upload traffic possible.
See... Leechers are an incredibly important part to increasing one's ratio. If there are no leechers, there is no upload activity... plain and simple.
@lololulu19: You're one such user whose profile I have gone through and "spruced things up" a little.

RE: New kind of cheating
Do you have any examples of what you are referring to? I would be happy to look into it for you.

RE: Moderator misunderstood rules, deleted film with hot naked guy stroking his cock
Looking at both torrents, it appears that they were removed for not being LGBT Themed… We define that as the plot, the storyline, and the characters in some manner depict an LGBT theme. If the character is gay in the movie for example, and that is something that is prominent in the film, then it qualifies. If the actor is gay, however the character is straight, this does not qualify.
In this case, there is a difference between what we have in the voyeur category and this film. The voyeur category is a bit of a controversial category. This category mostly consists of hidden cam images, and surrounds the element of the subject of the film being unaware that they are being filmed. This however is different than one scene in the movie containing a homoerotic visual. I apologize for the confusion this has caused.

RE: How to BUMP a file.
Sorry for chiming in so late… I'll one up your bump request and add a 156 hour freeleech on top...
You're welcome!

RE: For how long should I keep downloaded videos
I usually recommend to hang onto them for as long as possible. Usually after a while, some of the torrents will disappear into the abyss. When this happens, it can be a great time to start reseeding the torrents, then ask a mod or the helpdesk to promote and/or freeleech the torrents to cash in on having saved the content over time. This is a big part of how I keep my ratio so high.
That said though, I know that not everyone can afford several 3TB SSD drives to store everything on. Also, not everyone has the kind of upload capacity that I do.

RE: Seeding complete torrents
Two other factors to consider…
-
There are currently no leechers actively downloading the torrent's contents, so there's nowhere really to upload to.
-
You need to make sure that the port number that your torrent client uses is forwarded in your router to your computer, both in TCP and in UDP. This is a very critical, but often overlooked step.
Where #2 is not possible, the only workaround is to use a VPN service that either forwards one port (and use that port for your torrent client), OR that forwards ALL incoming ports through the VPN to your computer.

RE: Are there new Search operators that can help us? Work Arounds??
The search should now be back to normal.

RE: Browse reshuffling
Just out of curiosity, have you tried using a different browser and/or a different device?

RE: Two word searches down?
If it's any consolation, it seems to be working for me now.
In future, try two word searches in one of two ways…
"Two Words"
or
Two+WordsSometimes that will yield a different result.

RE: Site Purge?
Also, another thing to consider is that by default, the search will not show dead torrents. It is possible that the torrents you once had may have gone dead from a lack of activity. Try searching with the "including dead" option selected beside the search bar.
-
RE: Site Purge?
Have you by chance tried searching for "Public Jerker" or Public+Jerker ?
I ask this because I seem to have no issues with the search. I don't know whether this has been fixed, or if I'm not affected because I am in a different user class. Can anyone advise me on this?

RE: Strange "Dead Files" anomaly
Yes… This is a very common thing, which QTM in particular trips on.
Our usual recommendation to keep things simple for everyone is to delete the torrent, then create a new .torrent file to attempt the upload again. If you have any difficulty doing this, moderators such as myself can assist you with doing this.
That said though, as long as you are able to get the torrent seeded, regardless of how you import it, it's all good.

RE: Will firefox and µTorrent ever again be supported here?
The problem you are/were experiencing could be affected by any number of things. Without doing further probing while it's in the failing state, it would be really hard to say what the case was in your particular situation. If everything is working now, then you should be all set to go.

RE: Dead Torrent - The Life of Riley
For future reference, when you find a dead torrent, there is a button near the bottom that you can click that reads "Request Re-seed".
This option is generally more effective, as the system will PM the last up to 120 people (I think it is) who downloaded the torrent to ask them to re-seed it for you. It also usually draws more attention, as this will prompt a red box to appear at the top of each page to advise them that they have a message. A forum post won't do that.
That being said though, it appears that one of our mods has done this for you, and put a freeleech on the torrent. I just noticed it now and that it was uploaded in 2015, so I also promoted it to help draw some more attention to it for you.

RE: Hostname not found in utorrent
It sounds like the DNS provider you are using is not resolving our tracker's IP address for some reason. There are however two ways around this…
Way #1 - Change your DNS to Google DNS using these DNS servers
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4Way #2 - Modify your computer's hosts file by adding these two lines

77.247.179.58 tracker.gaytorrent.twIf you are unsure of how to modify your system's hosts file, I would encourage you to check out this comprehensive guide.
