    • RE: Torchwood: Miracle Day and Doctor Who Continuity

      "Torchwood-Children of Earth" was amazing and also one of those rare times when television horrified me.  Out disgusted even Tosh 2.0 (the only time television made me vomit).  In fact I would offer up Children of Earth as one of television's golden moments.

      Miracle Day is just plain awful.  Such a waste it should be stricken from the records with a severity not seen since Akhenaten!  My mind cannot even comprehend how on one hand you have Children of Earth and the other Miracle Day. Blame America.  Even the name seems like some sort of attempt at courting Americans.  Even thinking about it now has gotten me upset again.  Phooey.

      To not end on sour note and to reemphasize genius Children of Earth is quite possibly perfect.  I include a photo of the 'horror box' to entice viewing.

      This gives me an idea for a reclaiming "dirty" poster.  Clean sex is for breeders and clones.

    • RE: Is 'Undetectable' the New Safe Sex

      When I was negative I always assumed everyone I had sex with was positive.  My first long-term relationship was with someone who was positive (and not one of the 2 who informed me of status prior to contact) so it wasn't necessarily an impediment for me to have sex with an individual who identified as HIV+ even before the concept of undetectable was out there.

      Now that I am positive I should make the swap mentally and assume all partners are negative but I haven't.  Since I stopped going to bathhouses (4 years now also surely just by coincidence 4 years without contracting the dose once) most of my sexual contact has had some form of negotiation via online ads so I haven't had to say "Oh by the way…".

      I will admit to a few public encounters where I could be charged as I did not disclose...

      @MrMazda:

      You could call it slut shaming, but that would imply that I am actually ashamed of what happened, when the fact is that it really doesn't bother me anymore.

      Sorry, I did consider the implications of my statement when I made it being that you are a slut capable of shame and meant to add a caveat but despite that I stand by my original stance, that statement was slut-shaming even if you are the Virgin Mary who was immaculately seroconverted.

      @nordicblue:

      The vernacular here is always interesting.  With neologisms like slut-shaming, why bother keeping a dictionary or thesaurus "handy".  :cool2:

      Correct me if I am wrong but are you not the same individual who posted the definition of ostensible after I used it in a post correctly as if to imply I had not used the word correctly?

      I don't bother keeping a dictionary handy, I have 2 (as well as the old google) because sometimes 1 definition is not enough.

      "Only philosophers embark on this perilous expedition to the outermost reaches of language and existence. Some of them fall off, but others cling on desperately and yell at the people nestling deep in the snug softness, stuffing themselves with delicious food and drink. 'Ladies and Gentlemen,' they yell, 'we are floating in space!' But none of the people down there care." -  Jostein Gaarder

      Addendum:

      Got mine for $35 which seems like a steal, I saw an ad on craigslist for the exact same model as mine for sale in another city for $180 (which isn't to say it sells for that amount).  This is how I found out the early models of a large fanbase.  Regularly selling on Amazon for over $100.

      Thank you nmd & MrMazda both very much.  I have an "in" with the fellow at the North Pole & there will be something extra for both of you when he cums in you, I mean comes to town this year.   :cheesy2:

      I will agree that having both set of cables connected at the same time could be confusing, although one of the times I was sucessful in getting HDMI connection to work was when I plugged in the componet connection while the HDMI was plugged in.  Like it kick started something (that only worked the one time though or I forget something else I did).

      I have had the most success with unplugging the power outlet of both the tv and the box, then insuring the tv is set to HDMI before plugging the box back in.

      This worked for me earlier today and after turning everything off, going out for lunch and then coming back it continues to work.  Component audio is plugged in (to the amp) but not video.  Everytime I have had it work I have used the component audio while watching the HDMI because I prefer the sound coming from the stereo as opposed to from the television's rinky dink speakers.  Which suggests it possibly isn't inner confusion (like it's owner suffers from).

      I know the hardware reset is an option but I consider that the 'suicide option' when I completely exhaust all other possibilities.  If the thing hadn't worked this morning I would have either tried that or hit that drunk cunt on the street that woke me with her belly aching with the gadget.

      I have taken heart in the fact that there is a rather large online community devoted to these early WDTV boxes, something to do with the ability to hack the firmware updates that isn't possible with the newer ones.  http://b-rad.cc/

      I have the last official firmware update from Western Digital installed (came with) and have debated trying the b-rad firmware update.  Also have read that it is possible to make this version wireless with one of those little USB do dads which if I figure out how to make work consistently will be my next adventure.  When I bought it I was more than okay with it not being wireless, up until this year I was on more than one time quoted saying "I want the wires, give me wires" but now with the tablets forcing me to go wireless I wonder why I resisted so long.

      Again thank you both.  As well, MrMazda which WDTV box do you have?  Still use?

      Currently watching White Christmas again, I like it, I like it a lot.

      Sure, partly I like to compensate the fact that Jon Hamm is not inside me by watching him but I like good story telling as well and not only is Black Mirror good story telling, it is unique!

    • #Help #HDMI #Media Player

      I recently made the plunge into making my TV smarter by purchasing a Western Digital WD TV HD Media Player (2nd gen) off craigslist on the cheap.

      After a few starts and stops with the occasional misfire I not only got it working I also figured out which file formats it prefers.

      The help is now it doesn't want to connect via HDMI input & I am sort of stumped as to what the issue is or even how to look up the issue.

      What happens is I follow all the steps and the Western Digital splash screen shows up on the TV (so they are connected) but then the TV just goes back to the HDMI waiting for input screen (don't know the technical term but it doesn't see the player).  This is how it worked before but after the splash I would get a menu screen & be able to play videos.

      I can still get the player to display with the component connection but I also now see the difference in quality.

      Any input would be appreciated.

    • RE: What is your favorite OS mine is Linux Ubuntu

      I would be embarassed to admit how long I used Windows 2000 for (I still have my first home pc, still has 2000 on it and am still able to do a surprising amount with it when in a pinch) but eventually I inherited a Mac & although I drank the blue kool aid I never actually swallowed.  Then in one of my flighty moments I thought myself bilingual because I was able to achieve what I wanted in both Windows & Mac so I expressed an interest in Ubuntu to the right friend and haven't looked back since.

      Although I am rather fond of Android as well (since getting tablets) but then I also find the two quite similiar.

      Also feel I've done my part by converting my brother to Ubuntu in less than 30 minutes.

      True.  However, we see enough to start a petition to see more of Bruce Wayne.  I remember way back in the dark ages there was a petition to have Adam West cast in Burton's Batman.  Seems to me that since we are not asking for a recast and also we know Affleck seems willing to work on his 'craft' that a petition for Bruce Wayne full frontal might work.  Hell we might even be able to word it in such a way that Cavill demands his man of steel be exposed as well.  Think of the marketing possibilities: Superman vs Batman - Who Comes Out On Top?  My bet is that Batman is a lazy bottom & Superman something of a submissive top or I could be projecting.  Throw Aquaman into the mix and we have the makings of the best porn ever.  Could be making my coffee with Red Bull instead of water was a mistake.  I see the sounds.

    • RE: Is 'Undetectable' the New Safe Sex

      @MrMazda:

      Even if there's absolutely no risk of transmitting HIV to someone else, failing to disclose your status can land you a criminal charge for Aggravated Sexual Assault.

      Of all the partners I have had since being sexually active (circa 1984 lost virginity with sexcrime as soundtrack) only 2 guys ever disclosed their status to me prior to engaging in intercourse.  To be fair one of those two was in the middle of a rather large group scene and I hadn't made my way to him at that point but technically I was made aware of his status by him prior to contact.

      TWO!  I'd love to post the ratio to those who never said anything but let's just guestimate that I have had more than say a dozen partners.  Heck, let's round up and guess I may have had 20 partners.  Even at that rate of 2 to 20 I would guess more than a few didn't disclose.

      My online presence now always says "undetectable" and I also stress the fact that I am "dirty".  On so many levels  :blind:

      Also, the same care that keeps you alive, should have been the same care that prevented it from happening in the first place.

      Slut shaming pure and simple.  There should be zero tolerance for this.

      As a side note:  I can self edit but only so many times…

      This 2 hours before, 2 days after sounds a bit like the seventies mentality of taking a course of antibiotics for a weekend at the tubs.  Also, are they just saving the Truvada for special occasions?  When I am in the groove sex is not just daily but hourly.  Will these guys have to decide who is "sponge worthy"?

      Indeed he his and he can leave the costume on.

      There is a guy in these parts who visits the tubs semi-frequently (or used to) wearing a superman costume & with the look down.  I'd like to see him in the new ensemble.  Apparently he (oh i should not spread unverified gossip) likes to be punched and kicked in the balls while wearing the superman outfit.  Put the new sexy suit on and I may just be willing…

    • RE: PrEP - Truvada

      If your going off Truvada you must be going on the other one which name escapes me.  The one my doctor said "It can make some people squirrely and you are already squirrely enough."

      I am in line for the liver issues as I don't drink near enough water.  It has been brought up more than once with the blood work results, my creatine levels?  I tune out with some of the results and then try to drink more liquids.  So, I do have side effects but fortunately at this point they don't make themselves apparent in my daily life.  I had dry mouth & nausea prior to Truvada so they don't count.

      I sleep less on the meds but I don't mind having more time to not be productive with.
